What do you mean might not even make it? Haikyuu!!, The Promised Neverland, Gotoubun no Hanayome are all in the current top 10 and are already over, which will give space to other series. Season 5 is also happening next year and while it might not give the backlog a signifcant boost, it will still help older volumes sell and with a backlog as big as My Hero Academia's they don't need to sell that much to push the series' sales. Unless a good chunk of newer series get huge boosts next year, there's no reason to believe My Hero Academia is going to fall out of the top 10.
Nothing, but then they probably want to release volume 30 when season 5 starts airing. If they released it in December they would still have to wait 4 months to release another volume because season 5 only starts in April. If they release it in January then it's a 3 month wait until season 5 plus they have a bigger backlog of chapters making it safer for them to release 4 or 5 volumes in 2021.
I guess Tanjiro will get the same level of importance as Kira from Death Note.
True. Though I usually imagine that Light isn’t given top billing because it’s a fighting game, and he’s usually just an assist character at most, since his series doesn’t involve fighting. Not necessarily because of sales.
