Well, there's no other way to really go by at this point. They're the #1 ranked defense currently but statistically unimpressive on offense. Their key wins have been against the Titans and the Browns.

Eyeball test, I think this is one of the better Steeler teams offensively just because of the weapons they have in the passing game and O-Line which is really solid.. We lost Devin Bush on defense to a torn ACL who is a huge loss on that side of the ball but our defense is stacked enough to take that hit apparently.

But granted we have not played any team on the level of the Chiefs or Ravens yet.

Don't really like how many hits Lemar takes though. I know running is part of his skill set and all but they run him up the middle a lot more than I expected them to.

Why set yourself up like this? The reigning NFL MVP can't throw? You know he still has a better passing rating than Wentz right?

The difference between this year and last is literally the performance of the offensive line, nothing else really. I've seen some people speculate he's playing hurt, but who knows. They lost Stanley for the season now too, so I'm not really expecting it to get much better.

He was definitely turning the ball over too much. Hard to say how much of that is on the o-line but probably a fair amount. After that LT got hurt he didn't have anything resembling a pocket for the rest of the game. The Baltimore running game was pretty effective, as expected. But the turnovers and penalties just put them a hole they couldn't get out of. Every time they'd start to pull ahead they'd trip up.

They lost to the best team in the NFL by 4 and almost won. No shame in that. Still a top 5 team and a SB contender.

They lost Yanda to retirement this year, someone who was basically All-World for the majority of his career, and didn't really "replace" him with someone proven. The line has struggled most of the year because of it, even in their victories. They just gave Stanley a new contract a few days ago and he's lost for the year with an ankle injury. They needed to try to address this unit before he got hurt and didn't. Not that it's easy to find someone adequate mid-season, but it's needed even more now and probably won't happen in any meaningful way. They had Orlando Brown Jr playing LT after he went out because they don't have any more active OTs. Expecting Jackson to run for his life from now on.

Yes he does but when ur number 1 in rush and ppl can’t stop that then u don’t have to throw as much Jackson doesn’t get More than 25 attempts a game and pass offense is ranked 31st all u have to do is shut down the run and make him throw thats it

This is like the same argument have always used against Brady - "well when you have a line that can block and receivers that can catch...."

So offensive efficiency is being held against someone who doesn't have to throw the ball 50 times a game, but still led the league in passing TDs? I don't care how good of a running game a team has, you're not throwing for 30+ TDs if you "can't throw".

But no one is shutting down the run, so it's really not that simple is it? The passing game is mostly underachieving because of line troubles, I already touched on that. Passing offense is often not even worth mentioning as as measurement over scoring, the top 5 passing offenses belong to teams that are a combined 12-24, with Seattle being the only winning team. Passing numbers are inflated in garbage time when they don't matter.
