Not my fave but possibly the most unique, crazy & memorable and definitely high in my top animes.

Gintama was my first 'comedy' manga I read (almost 2 decades ago lmao im old), and it changed my perspective on foreign comedies in general.
And then.. It wasn't a comedy?!!?! BUT THEN IT WAS?!?!?! I was so confused a manga could pull this off as well as Gintama did.

Imho Kill la Kill is overrated. It's eye candy, but the series itself is just dumb story- and concept-wise. Not dumb enough to be funny though. Couldn't get past episode 5 myself.

That eye candy comment is a good one. That's how the show always felt to me; eye-candy, a gimmick.

• Submissions open until November 10th. Depending on volume, might make it earlier, will notify if that is the case but don't see it being open any later than the 10th.
• Honorable Mentions will be accepted.
• Changes to submitted lists will also be accepted but please make me aware you are doing so. If you just edit your original message then chances are I will likely miss it.

-Now some character related bits that some might disagree with

• Characters from the LN, Class 3-Z Ginpachi-Sensei will be counted as their original series counterparts (ex: Ginpachi Sensei=Gintoki)
• Any character variations will still be counted as the original character since the variations are not permanent.
  • Example: Sakata Ginko(female Gintoki) will be counted as Sakata Gintoki(original character).
  • Example: Kondo actually becoming a Gorilla will be counted as Kondo Isao(original character).

Don't listen to them ! True, the first episodes are a little confusing and it can take a little while before really getting into it but believe me, once you do, 300 episodes won't be enough for you.
Each episode is either pur comedy gold, hard boiled badass or "what are you doing to my kokoro" like

I didn't even get that far I think.. I watched a couple of episodes and then decided to rewatch Gurren Lagann instead. So I guess what Panda said is fairly legit.

Though the beginning is certainly the worst part imo, gets better and better the more it goes.

Might give it another try and push past the beginning then. We'll see.
