Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.
8. Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

Headcannon rent in your mind must be nice especially when you hurt your own arguments? You do realize I am not only one who lists Zoro not in top 5 from looking at other lists. Guess they contradicting your own ideals too .

where did you get Zoro struggling against Apoo? So did Luffy and Kidd. We saw Zoro attack Apoo and Apoo running away but nothing suggests he struggled.

We all saw how that ended.

Luffy and Kidd haven't done more of a solid fight with him in this arc, so hard to say they will struggling the same, but Zoro even with Drake has done not much to get him as Apoo is more advantage over him on what shown.

Yeah, Sanji block and tank his attack and came out fine. By that logic we shouldn't see Queen vs Zoro after he spit Zoro out and send him back to the ground lol. They will face YC lvl opponents if Luffy want to face Kaido himself.

Let's not get off topic on what was original talk and bait. Just talking about what we seen recent chapters and state what I stated. Simple as that.

He’s not a top 5 supernova. He’s a top 2 supernova.

Heck most of the supernova are swordsmen.

Nah, he facing Queen and not going to be one to defeat Kaido. Luffy is one in charge of that and he do the most damage.

Not really as it's more DF users than all about weapons. Nothing about them is being an pure weapon user.

Responding to albert for one who was complaining why I didn't put Zoro on top of the list and you state my post was laughable. Listen if you have a thing for favorite character it's fine, but don't get riled when someone state something what happening in manga and doesn't put certain character if performance doesn't show.

Yes, but Supernovas are known for their powers of DF, not because of weapon they use. Zoro has no obligation to be stronger than them. They aren't swordsmen nor all about their weapons. His goal doesn't translate at all to them.

Never state anything like that. Queen vs Zoro will be good fight for him especially it got build-up given Zoro will probably go after the guy who is causing harm around area given he is one to get payback on those who mess with him and his allies. It be challenging fight, but of course with team-up behind him. I don't see that.

Only one you can make that argument for is Hawkins.

Law learned how to use swords, guns, fight hand to hand, and so on from Doflamingo's crew. He is diverse in many fighting styles, but he won't be helpless if you take away his sword with his DF being so powerful.

Drake is diverse as he does fight with weapons, but when using his DF powers he can fight brute strength and fight with his claws, mouth, tail, and so on.

Killer you have a point on being weapon user, but he isn't no swordsmen as he use sickle-like weapons that work different anyone with standard weapon.

Hawkins is same way as most of them, know him for his powers, not for his weapon. Your stretching too much on these guys to be all weapons when they aren't.

Nah, lol. Not at all especially latest chapter look at them more equals with how Oda looks at their rivalry. Plus Queen facing Zoro won't undermine him since King and Queen are shown more as equals than who stronger than who given their interactions.
