Some predictions
  • JJK will have the same success as AoT, probably more. Also after s1 ends, they'd probably announce the s2 by 2022.
  • KnY will keep selling but in a less degree but good enough to keep its #1 spot. Or maybe falls in the 2nd spot. As for the S2, maybe this February we get some news. Also, the movie will still performing well and most likely surpassed Spirited away.
  • Another veteran comes back.
  • 2020 was supposed to be the year of the Olympics, so I thought they'd bring more spokons but it failed. So 2021 will be the year for it. The ice skating manga soon.
  • Kaiju8 will probably become another success like SxF.
  • We might get ending hints for some series.
  • And the most important one, a good vampire manga.
So...let's get started!

My predictions (copied from the last thread with some minor changes and additions)
-One Piece manages to squeak out 3 volumes next year, wano does not end next year, and breaks remain relatively consistent in frequency to what they are now
-MHA remains stable, S5 provides a slight boost but nothing significant, S6 announced for late 2022, timeskip happens first 1/2 next year
-BC continues it's trajectory but with no signs of ending, anime announced to end after it finishes adapting the current arc in the manga (whenever that ends)
-Dr Stone keeps up through 2021, looks to possibly end in 2022. S3 announced for 2022
-JJK continues to grow as a pillar of the magazine, S2 announced for 2022, surpasses MHA
-CSM gets full anime adaptation announced for 2021
-Yozakura continues it's slow but steady growth, however it's rankings start to slip back down by the end of the year. On track to end 2022
-Mashle continues to grow, anime for 2022 announced by Perriot
-Undead grows, less than Mashle but develops a more dedicated fanbase, anime also announced for 2022
-Ayakashi grows, eventually settles around the Yuuna line in the ToC
-Magu and Roboco both get 40-50 chapter runs, one of the survives into 2022 but the other is axed
-Dolphin gets axed summer 2021 after filling up the bottom slot after the first batch this year
-Phantom Seer and HSF both get axed around spring
-Build King lasts until at least fall 2021, gets at least 2 early CPs but popularity is only moderate
-Sakamoto survives into the summer before getting axed
-Moriking, Agravity, and Blood Oath all end for the first batch of 2021, alongside CSM (Blood Oath is U19d)
-HxH does return, but very late into the year (at least fall)
-BTW S2 announced for late 2021, also gets an anime to go with it
-Kimetsumania keeps up, wall gradually starts to lighten up but doesn't truly go away and subject to occasional spikes back up. S2 announcment
-SxF anime announced for late 2021, provides moderate boost
-Jigokuraku ends 2021, anime announced for 2022
-Kaiju8 sells very with vol 1, gradually declines after the first few volumes but doesn't look to be ending
-Ghost Reaper Girl and Ron Kamonohashi both become big hits, but not SxF level
-WSJ has at least 3 U19 members next year
-12-16 new series next year

Kinda off-topic, but this seems fairly ambitious?
At least based on what we know. The game is only announced for PS4 for now, and even Demon Slayer can't carry a PS4 game in 2021 (and a PS5 release won't help either)

I'm thinking more about anime game sales in Japan and maybe worldwide rather than all video games. I don't think it can compete with stuff like cod or minecraft.

Reposted from last year's thread with a few modifications and additions:

- Chainsaw Man ends with less than 15 volumes (I'm guessing 12 at this rate). Anime is announced after the series ends.
  • 12/2/20 EDIT: Dammit, after hearing the news, I'm not technically wrong, but I actually predicted it ending at 97 chapters a few weeks ago in the previous thread. I was completely blindsided, I shouldn't have changed it... :scry
- Mashle continues to grow. Anime announcement by the end of the year.
- Undead Unluck grows a bit more before plateauing like pre-anime Dr. STONE.
- Yozakura starts growing at Volume 6, but still falls behind its contemporaries. The series will pass 100 chapters and get a cover + LCP for its second anniversary.
- Ayakashi breaks the curse of well-selling, but stagnant ecchi series and continues to grow through the year. The story will also take a more battle-focused turn (while still maintaining its ecchi elements).
- Phantom Seer will do better than expected, but still flop.
- Magu-chan and High School Family hang around for a good part of the year by pure luck.
- Sakamoto Days is an instant hit (both in early reception and Volume 1 sales).
- Build King appears to do well at first, but loses steam after a while, only lasting about a year.
- Roboco exibits stagnant/minimal growth, but continues doing well enough to become the main gag series in the magazine.
- Agravity Boys won't last past the first half of the year.
- At least five veterans will return this year (with varying degrees of success). One of which will be a special short serialization (like The Comiq)
- Ao no Hako is serialized. Featuring four sports total (basketball and volleyball as well as gymnastics and tennis which were teased at the end).
- Kenta Shinohara returns with the series he's been working on for the past two years (and hopefully he comes back to Twitter while he's at it).
- Togashi returns with another volume of HxH chapters (even before Kubo comes back with BTW S2, lol).
- Red Hood wins the GFC, but the author serializes something else towards the end of the year.
- Shiro Usazaki returns with a newbie author for a one-shot and strong hints of serialization.

Special Bonus Prediction: Jump Plus debuts another series that outperforms pretty much everything in the WSJ lineup, lol.

It's very hard that the Kimetsu game will do thaaaat well overall (although, being Kimetsu, we should never discount it). However, yeah, it seems pretty likely it will break records for anime games. The problem, even then, lies in the choice of platform, as @Rouk' said. PS4 isn't so hot right now and even if they add PS5, won't help that much. But let's see, maybe a PS5 port does happen and Kimetsu becomes the killer app for that console, lol.

It has surpassed Titanic and now it's in the 2nd place.
What an absolute fucking monster. I know it's been stated already too many times but it just needs to be stated everytime it breaks a record.
Jesus Christ.

I don't have bold predictions like some people here but here goes :

-Dr. Stone gets 3rd season by Fall to cover the manga up to chapter 138
-Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 to be announced by the end of the year on Oricon, but we will get an OVA of either Vol. 0 or whatever arc is leading to the current one. The current arc will be the whole season. It also reaches total sales of 20M by the end of the year and volume levels of Haikyuu!!
-Chainsawman ending and being adapted fully by David Productions with 39 episodes.
-Undead Unluck recieves an anime announcement by JC Staff in Jump festa 2022
-Kimetsu season 2 airs Fall 2021
-HxH being back for a single volume in the second cancellation round and being replaced by the GFC
-Shiro Usazaki finding a new author and having a new serialization in the end of the year
-3 veterans return
-We get 2 spokons, none of them sticks
-HBC&D avoids cancellation but only because of cushins
-Wano is ending by the end of 2022 with the current pace
-Black Clover finishes the current arc and enters it's final arc
-AT is a moderate success but not as big as TLR
