I like old jump cause it was funny seeing people cry about series ending and then also seeing new manga being added, although the genre's are all gag

I think I prefer the current way things have been going. However, I think series are lasting longer more because of the sheer volume of long-running veterans ending over the past year rather than the EiC giving new series longer to try to take off per se. Either way, now that We Never Learn has ended, the oldest series I'm following actively is Yozakura.

Btw, editorial department issued a public apology and correction for the ToC, as they accidentally reprinted Yabuki's comment from issue #50/2020 instead of his actual new comment. Sad mistake, because Yabuki's comment this week was his farewell message to Tsutsui for the end of WNL, bummer to have that not be included in the physical printing.

VIZ/MangaPlus also just have the old comment in the section for this week's comments. I wonder if they will update their posts nowbthat Jump issued this correction. They should.

While I don’t have any particular preference toward old or new Jump, I don’t mind series lasting a tad bit longer to prove themselves now, mostly cause of Magu-chan has shown to have a bit of a come back (for now at least, it might as well end up being another Mitama situation)

Tho I admit, axed series lasting more than they should is a bit annoying

I doubt the artist would work with him again... But maybe for Jump he has done his "time" (We know Jump has continued to work with Watsuki, for example). Also even if, for example, USA cancelled Watsuki's new work, other parts of the planet have continued publishing him, e.g. here in Mexico Rurouni Kenshin's kanzenban just started this year, so Shueisha had no problems working with Watsuki.

Which means the Shoseki top 50 certainly ended with less than 81K. 1.1M / 14 is 78K. Still on that avarage alone a JJK volume finally broke the million barrier. Kimetsu is also doing much better than I expected so I'm happy to be wrong on that front, and Haikyuu continuing to sell is also great. I hope it will still have a small backlog if a 5th season will be announced.

Oricon rankings are becoming Boring as hell because of Kimetsu no Mania... why so many people? Even a masterpiece like death note or Hokuto no Ken, dragon ball, one piece sold so much... For me it should be a 500k-1M seller manga. There are much better series around
Anyway I hope UxU selling will be better... the author is a genius. I hope to see some backlog of Mashle, Agravity boys and Yozakura family

I'm with you, I want to see the new hits of the new decade reach at least 100K already. I read 7 chapters of UxU and I love it's creativity and Mashle's comedy is great.

You're right there, but that's my bar that seperates a moderate success(My favourite manga actually was here) and a big success. Even if it takes 1 more year I just want to see it happening, and I'm positive it will reach that point.

It is not personal. But these kinds of comments really make me laugh. And since they make me laugh, I pray that Demon Slayer continues to sell a ton and guarantees its number one spot by the end of the year 2021.

The reason that kind of comment is funny is because some of you become judges of what should be and what not to be. Of what is correct and not.

Who are you to devalue the tastes of all (or almost all) a country that bows to a work like Demon Slayer? Who I am? Obviously we can give an opinion, but what some do is not give an opinion is to condemn that a country has become freely obsessed with a work.

Seeing Demon Slayer dominate everything in every space that is, I understand that it can be repetitive. I understand that we would like other works (especially those that we like best) to dominate those spaces, but it is not like that. It would be nice if we accepted it.

On the other hand, it is curious that you condemn that fanaticism (which can be in your right) but then you call Death Note, Hokuto no Ken, Dragon ball and One Piece masterpieces. It's funny, because it could fill a bus with people who consider these works to be shit.
In the same way that for you these works are masterpieces, can you understand that people consider Demon Slayer the best?

Finally, if our favorite works were the ones that were achieving what Demon Slayer is achieving, I bet, without fear of being wrong, nobody would complain about that. Which in turn makes me think that we really are somewhat hypocritical.
