That point gap tho. The amount of points nearly doubled from Rank 7 to 5

Haven't seen anyone comment on Lelouch yet, but he was pretty entertaining in his way of doing things. Certainly smart but not perfect with how often he messed up.
Though sadly Code Geass didn't have that many times where his mind mattered much in later seasons, became a full-blown mecha anime.

[Demonspeed]

I like Lelouch a lot but I think he used people as pawns too easily. Great MC though.

[Brandish μ]

I don't like Lelouch but he's smart enough for top 10.

I will read Liar Game some day.

[Rikudou King]

Both Lelouch and Conan skipped my mind, and now I'm sad...

[Copy Panda]

Lelouch okay but Conan? smh

Good!

So it's between Conan and L.

Forgetting Lelouch is fine, forgetting Conan, is fine too, forgetting Maomao is an unforgivable sin ! :

[liductan]

True, maybe but the whole plan is not only his, a lot of people tend to give Norman all the credits of the escape, he indeed had a genius plan, but he is not the only one, Ray was the one who initiated everything and for years, manipulating Isabella, trying to gather gradually everything he needs for the escape, trying to figure how to deactive the tracking chip. He prepared everything for 6 years. And when times came, he was the one who informed Norman and Emma. Without him, they wouldnt even know about the farm. He purposely make them retrieve Conny's plush so to inform them. They both deserve equal credits, Norman is not superior to Ray, in the manga it was pretty clear from the beginnng, they are similar intellect level, Ray is more realistic, tho and more lovable imo, just my 2 cents, for the same reasons you like Norman more, i like Ray more, probably because his story is saddest But unfortunately Ray got bad treatment after the escape arc but thats because he was not supposed to survive, the authors meant to kill him likely at chap 32, his survival s very likely an editorial decision, and that's why he's basically useless after this arc

I'm glad to see another Ray fan, that's my baby lol
I love norman too but he gets way too much credit like you said.

I noticed we have similar taste in music too enrinyes. Dropped by just to say...that and merry Christmas. See y'all next yr..if I'm around.

But he outsmarted the other guy, how is he lower

[GrySun]

But he outsmarted the other guy, how is he lower

Come on, he used magical death note powers of erasing memories, how is a human supposed to not be outsmarted there. Given how Light starts with all the knowledge and power while L doesn‘t, it‘s a lot more amazing how close L got to catching him. They were even assuming at some point Light was possessed or so by the book because of how he suddenly changed in the cell.
L made huge impressions in his first appearance in ep 2 when he showed how petty and egomaniac Light really is super early on while taunting him to the point he could deduce where he lives, then correctly tied the noose more and more until Light used hax.

--- Double Post Merged, Dec 24, 2020, Original Post Date: Dec 24, 2020 ---

And none of what Near and Mello accomplished in the second half would‘ve been possible without all L did, Near admits it at the end iirc.

[Copy Panda]

Idk while I think L is smarter for getting this close, both L and N had their hax moments that allowed them to skip HUGE steps and close massive distance on Light. L using the television broadcast could have backfired if Kira was passing through the area and used their jutsu in a city they didn't live. N had his avatar moment that allowed him to magically pinpoint Mikami as X-Kira.

So they did have a degree of plot favouritism on their side, while Light had to actually work hard for his victory. That said, even with all the knowledge Light had beforehand, in the end he had to trick a lovesick Shinigami to perform the kill on L. L at this point already confiscated the Death Note and knew of Shinigami so I think that's gg

edit: and also, while Light didn't make any mistakes himself, his accomplice X-kira fucked his shit up, so he lost to N as well

[Demonspeed]

If anyone had plot favoritism it was Light . With the Death Note things were never in L's favor in the first place, with the lifespan sacrifice he could have killed him without issues. He had Misa, who was devoted to him and Misa had her own Shinigami devoted to her. Access to the police's intel through his dad and even luck(conveniently meets Naomi while going out).

There was no way for L to deal with all of this.

[Copy Panda]

I agree that's why I only gave points to L, not Light.

[Evil3ye]

Wonder about L's dentist though, thoughts and prayers.
