Do some of yall think WSJ should get rid of the ToC rankings altogether or come up with a new system? I'm curious because most magazines don't seem to use it

As I understand it the ToC are not really meant to be taken as a direct ranking anyway, rather that the popularity might influence the ToC. If anything, people should take the ToC less seriously.

Of course, I might be wrong. Has there ever been direct acknowledgement about how accurately the ToC reflects a series' popularity by the editorial staff?

Objectively speaking the method works, Jump is still dominating on sales and prestige, so they won't change it

Personally, I'm in the camp of a rotation system. You rotate out the position of multiple series so each will get a chance to be within the top/middle of the magazine.

If so, I'm recovering it because Horikoshi answered back some minutes ago with his own Naruto sketch to thank Kishimoto for the poster and collab.

This issue GIGA was very strong, maybe the strongest ever since Next was discontinued
all of the oneshots were polished, when normally there are a lot of fillers and halfassed ones
even the oneshots that didn't get color pages outperformed the one that did
I liked almost all of them
Sand Storm is Inui's best work so far
Ruri Dragon is Shindo 's best work so far

Weekly Shonen Jump 05-06/2021 ToC. Atsushi Nakamura (Agravity Boys) was the only one that didn't post a message about One Piece chapter 1,000 becouse Agravity Boys ended lol

-Horikoshi and Tabata have been the ones who welcomed back Shimabukuro
-Horikoshi and Gege have been the ones who said bye to Fujimoto
-Horikoshi and Tabata have been the ones who said bye to Tsutsui

Is fun how Horikoshi and Tabata are the biggest fans on Shonen Jump in general and the ones who say hi or bye the most to other authors.

usually when a pro artist jump ships to Jump they don't give him a an introduction profile page
but they are treating Hinata Nakamura a pro with multiple series as newbie
Nakamura shouldn't be competing against rookies and literal whos, it just not fair
just look at the sheer difference in drawing power
