Shindou says he stopped drawing manga for 2 years, so what was he doing then?
My best guess is that he was finishing some studies or whatever, given he says he almost forgot how to draw manga. Hopefully it means he's returning now and will shed some light on his serialization soon.

Nakamura shouldn't be competing against rookies and literal whos, it just not fair
I actually think it's not fair for the rest of the rookies to compete with Nakamura. If I had to choose a winner or something in the issue, it would instantly be their work. The rest just can't even compete with that insane level of skill. Hopefully they'll meet the same luck and response Miura Kouji did.

my dude probably went to college meanwhile we were fighting whether he should serialize Rentarou or Count Over for 2 years lol
and when he returned he isn't even doing a battle manga lol

returning to speak of GIGA
the alien baseball oneshot author have Level E as one of his favorite manga
gee, I wonder where did he got the idea for that oneshot from :XD

Shindou says he stopped drawing manga for 2 years, so what was he doing then?
did he go to college after GFC or something?

Bakuman was realistic after all

usually when a pro artist jump ships to Jump they don't give him a an introduction profile page
but they are treating Hinata Nakamura a pro with multiple series as newbie
Nakamura shouldn't be competing against rookies and literal whos, it just not fair
just look at the sheer difference in drawing power
Agreed, I honestly don't see the point of having Nakamura in GIGA at all. Shindou's oneshot was also miles ahead in polish compared to the newbs. These 2 still being in GIGA is really puzzling, these oneshots should have been published in WSJ/J+ instead.

And now, for some thoughts:

I uploaded some interesting looking oneshots from GIGA in Imgur.

Edit: Some others due to people asking for them.

I really hope that Ruri Dragon and Hana wa Shinitai are serialized and soon. Both of them look really damn interesting. I especially love Hana wa Shinitai’s artwork - goddamn. Though, the author does have some experience at the professional level. The fencing manga really caught my attention as well, I think it could make for an interesting spokon series. We still need one, the spokon drought is unprecedented.

Red Hood won the GFC, which I don’t mind, but I wonder how well Popo did. I hope it got runner up or something. Maybe the artwork could use some more polish, but I did like it.

Speaking of artwork, I followed Usazaki today after seeing some art she did for another magazine. I should’ve done so a while ago, she’s real good. I’m glad she’s finding all of this work and is seemingly high in demand. I do hope she can find a writer better than that of Act-Age in terms of writing talent so that I don’t have to constantly think of the what if’s. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen, that’s a high bar. But I’ll have hope! Her style lends well to quite a few genres, so she’ll have options!

Agravity Boys will be having 7 volumes in total. Volume 5 in April, while Volumes 6 and 7 will release in early summer.

AGravity will be around until August, I guess. Is it usual a series to be cancelled with 4 volumes yet to be put on sales?

Edit: Vol 4 will be out on January.

That´s more than I expected. I guess they can fit both the epilogue and the oneshot onto the 7th volume.
Hopefully we can finally get Grislow and the others in color in one of the covers.

On another hand, this means that Nakamura Atsushi joins the club of Jump authors that have published 10 volumes or more! (Kurokuroku was 3 volumes).

Read Hinata Nakamura's previous work, it was interesting, I don't know if he'll be a good fit for Jump (though after Chainsaw Man I have to say my expectations for a "Jump manga" have kind of shifted) but either way I think his career is one to look out for. His previous series was in Good!Afternoon which might be a better fit for him honestly.

7 volumes? seems a bit too much considering the series ended with 50 chapters + a epilogue, it would fit 6 volumes with the last maybe being a bit bigger:

vol.1: 1 ~ 7
vol.2: 8 ~ 16
vol.3: 17 ~ 25
vol.4: 26 ~ 34
vol.5: 35 ~ 43
vol.6: 44 ~ 50 (7 chapters) - Depending on how long is the epilogue, they could fit fine

Or they will put less chapters on vol 6 to fill vol 7 more or the series will maybe have more than just 1 epilogue

They can also put Atsushi Nakamura's random oneshot in Volume 6 or something like that. On top of that, there is a a direct Agravity Boys oneshot from J+ as well.

That's my guess. V6 completes the WSJ run + the original oneshot to fill out the pages, then v7 will be the Giga epilogue plus maybe another extra chapter and more oneshots or something to pad it out.

Not really but for Mind Assassin it happened. Got axed in 27 chapters in issue 29 of 1995 but Volume 5 didn't come out until 1997. Only vol 1 was out by the time it ended.

It's funny how Haikyuu of all things is growing right now. I'm all for it, yet I can't see the reason behind it. Myabe the re-release will have some effects and we will start seeing more of those, and if so than Eyeshield 21 would also be welcome for celebrating 20 years in 2022.
Congrats to TPN as well, I hope it could reach 30M sales after the second season is done or maybe even a bit more.

Probably the final airing of Season 4 of the Haikyu anime on December 19th; as we have seen with KnY, a big boost can come soon after an anime season airs its final episode.

I'm starting to see Oricon 2021 top-10 series will be the same ones as 2020 (but in different order) since the manga that ended in 2020 refuse to die.

If maths don't betray me, Jujutsu Kaisen is already at 4 million in 2021 year.

Probably quite close, there were only 4 weeks in 2020 but only one broke the 1M IIRC. In the closest month though Jujutsu will surely break that threshold more often. Volume 14 already has a reprint planned before it's even out and the series has 2 complete reprints planned within 2 months.

KImetsu, Kingdom, One Piece, JUjutsu and My Hero will be there for sure, I don't think Haykyuu and Neverland. The year is still long and you never know what success might come up.
