When I saw tons of people posting YouTube videos of OP1000 and it trending with over 60K tweets over a week before the release I knew they’d clamp down. Clearly they went too far but hopefully this keeps things from trending. I made a tweet about it and got quoted with the usual “we read the official later. We buy manga. We are supporting. This isn’t harmful” type BS. I think some fans don’t even know the chapter isn’t out in Japan when they posting tbh

The one done with One Piece chapter 1000 is shameful

I understand the hype for the 1000th chapter of One Piece, I really understand it. But, for heaven's sake, what does it cost fans to wait for mangaplus to officially release, before spamming it everywhere?

On Twitter One Piece 1000 was in top trends, complete with "Oda goat", "Goda", "I love Oda", spammed in facebook pages dedicated to manga and no, discussed by youtubers with youtuber Twitcher to make everyone read the chapter live, even in groups, highly commented on Reddit ............

Too bad they were spamming a chapter that hadn't come out everywhere and is basically material stolen from the mangaka and the Shueisha

Copyright laws are like this in many industries. The only difference is that this is from an industry that is based in Japan.
Music labels striking twitch streamers and Youtube content creators for the music used was big news last year.

It's just corporations doing what they need to, in their eyes, to get some extra money. I highly doubt this law is going to change anything about how manga is shared outside Japan because despite the fact that leakers and stuff had gotten in huge amounts of trouble before, it still went on as usual.

There just isn't enough control outside Japan to stop the spread. The community literally cannot survive without it not unless there are legally translated versions for every manga that fans have translated.

Just enjoy the minor chaos that is ensuing because of this. That's all.

Japan and their more than toxic obsession over copyright and piracy strikes again, Nintendo is also getting a lot of bad reputation and controversy lately over these things, still nothing is more baffling than the people who actually give excuses to these draconian actions by companies in the internet, but well, let's see how things will go in the next days/weeks

It would make sense because why in the fuck would Shueisha DMCA one of their own official artists? I know they're a big company that could have a bot do it, but they're not THAT stupid.

Also, why were only a few of their series targeted? If Shueisha was really dropping the hammer on this thing, wouldn't they do it to all of their series?

If this is a hoax, Shueisha's gonna fucking sue.
