Why keep them around if they aren't growing at a fast pace? They could cut their losses and give their space to give other series a chance to grow, at some point they cant keep duds (or glacially growing ones) around.

I didnt think Magu was a dud I thought it had vocal fans around? I thought it would outlast phantom seer.

Spring Weapon sold worse (and I think also placed worse on average) than Magu-chan yet lasted a year and a half. If Magu-chan can keep up the decent ToC placement and not drop in sales too much, it'll hang around (I'm confident Agravity Boys would still be going strong now if it ranked a little better).

Though honestly I think there'll be enough total flops among the new series that both Magu and Phantom will be safe for a while (provided they don't start performing worse). I can't see either getting to 2 years unless they noticeably improve in the area each is lacking, but there should be enough stuff failing that there'll padding at the bottom each round (until we see another big batch that is).

Phantom seer is much safer than magu chan.
After all, Phantom has much better sales than magu chan, as much as people talk about toc positions, I believe that sales have more weight, since it is also affected by popularity.
I don't know anything about Weapon pring, but agravity lasted a long time because of the kimetsu, TPN, Yuuna, haikyuu, act age, WnL and Chainsaw man endings.
Not for one series to stay that long depending on the failure of others. If magu chan doesn't improve sales, it has to be canceled to make room for other series.

how the hell does vocal fans indicate popularity. Magu has good toc rankings, but sold 12k on first and second volume. Showing no growth. Phantom Seer has bad toc rankings but sold 22k first volume and will probably sell 25k for second. So it shows growth

Jump axes stuff to make way for new series since they like to keep the magazine at 20 manga total. Hence a stagnant series won't need to be cancelled to make way for something new as long as there's enough series doing worse each round (or older series ending, but that won't happen for a while).

If the magazine was like in 2011 or so where the magazine is completely full, we'd probably have seen Yozakura, Undead, Magu-chan, Dolphin, Roboco, and Phantom Seer already gone. But there's lots of space right now so anything that's not a complete flop is able to stick around.

BUILD KING Volume 1 increased its price to 460 yen, the same one given to final volumes of series. It's obvious it's not going to be all fitted in 1 volume, but it could be very much gone by Volume 2 by enlarging Volume 1 and making it last a bit more than your usual axebait.

The increasing likelihood of this being an early cancellation is probably something not many would have expected when this first got announced though I think it's a bad series so I'm not mad, just shocked that it didn't get preferential treatment. If this first volume is likely a little larger than the usual 7 chapters (let's say 8 or 9), and then second volume is the same then we'd be looking at around 17-20 chapters for the total run surely? If so then it could end around issue #16-19 which would align with when the next serialisation round is due to come around.

If just two get cancelled next round then it's likely Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin and Build King, however High School Family would have enough chapters for its second volume by that point as well so would make sense to end there, otherwise it might survive into the summer. After that Magu-chan and Phantom Seer best hope for there to be an U19 or two in the latest batch to keep them safe.
