The gap between Kimetsu and JJK has actually lowered from 11 million copies at beginning of the month to 9 million copies. I still think JJK has 0% of getting the 1st spot, but it will at least give a fight for it.

Also, 2021 JJK has already sold more than 2019 Kimetsu.

No, they don't.

I'd say JJK is like 80% likely to win 2021 unless anything changes like a full color edition release, which probably won't be coming this year. That 9mln gap barely counts for much when JJK will have 3-4 more new volume releases this year and is clearly running high still while KnY is starting to settle down. Unless the new season comes this summer, which could change things but I doubt it'll happen.

You can add delaying anniversary of your currently booming series for a random group (? since according to leaker it only states LCP and no mention of a specific series getting cover) cover to the list as well, but yeah, more or less.

I'm not worried because of Sakamoto's bottom 5. Too many unranked new series.

Sakamoto Days being in the bottom five technically is disheartening though it's at 8th place and with so many are unranked at the moment hopefully it picks up in a few weeks. It's also worth remembering that it's not uncommon for series that got early CPs had worse TOC rankings after their first CP. The exceptions being Mashle and Undead Unluck which remained at the same place, and Magu-chan being the only one that increased after, although that was after the first volume was out I believe.

• Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin: 9th (#45) > 11th (#47)
• Me & Roboco: 6th (#47) > 8th (#49)

Speaking of Magu-chan, it getting another colour page is an interesting choice. We don't even have a volume to promote so I'm confused, especially when many of us don't expect it to last much longer than this summer. And it's ranking at 6th this week too.

Choosing to give a color page to magu chan doesn't make any sense. Due to the fact that manga sales have not improved.

When the magazine has only 5 veteran series running and 4 promising newer series (Yozakura, Undead Unluck, Mashle, Ayakashi Triangle), I think it's more important to focus on finding potential best sellers that can replace all the series that ended in 2020 and promote them, than promoting a stagnant/decreasing series that wasn't even popular to begin with
