Not sure yet. I might give it a new try later, hope I get a bit more luckier with my mons. And not be hasty and lvl up my key mons to atleast to lvl 15 before taking on Falkner.

Here we again.

- Me and Srihacha the Cyndaquil took of from New Bark
- We did Elms errands at Mr. Pokemons place, and named the rival Giorno, because that's how Giovanni would probably name his son.
- First new team member is Mayo the Sentret
- Next we get lucky, and Salt the Geodude joins the crew (is it still too late to add trade evo hacks?)
- Then we accidentally kill the Kakuna we met on the next route
- But no worries, the next route we meet a new Kakuna. Chkn'Pate joins the game.
- Into the Dark Cave we go. And... another Geodude joins the games. Welcome Pepper.

Btw Falkner is infamous for being the shittiest trainer ever, as his ace is a level 9 pidgeotto in Silver/Gold. This was fixed kn HG/SS, so maybe read it as him grinding more than you for your fated battle '-'

With the Dude squad you should be totally fine in the first three Gyms unless you lose them to a surprise Water Gun or Vine Whip on the way.

Btw, how do you guys hack for Trade evolutions? Is it possible on 3DS or Emu only?

I've only know how to do it on emulation via using a Pokémon randomizer tool. There's an option in that that allows it, but that's it from my knowledge

- No probs at Bell Tower, leveled up Salt and Srihacha
- This time bit mroe leveling before Falkner. Dat Rock Throw on Salt would be a killer move.
- At Ruins of Alph Salt crit tackles the Uknown I encounter - no Unknowns for me then
- At Route 32 Dijon the Mareep joins the fun
- While training on R32, Srihacha evolves into Quilava, Salt learn Rock Throw
- Maybe over compensating a little, I also train up Pepper to Rock Throw lvl
- I take on Falkner again. I set up Salt with Rock Polishes and Defense Curl, and one-shot the Pidgey, though only after taking a few Sand Attacks.
- I keep missing the Rock Throws. Salt Doesn't take much from Pidgeottos attacks, but slowly goes down on HP due to misses. Rock Throw doesn't quite one-shot it and it Roosts back up. I change to Srihacha, who finishes it off with a quick attack.

- I get the Togepi egg. Does anyone remember if need to hatch it for some story event/item reward?

Nah Heartgold is infamously bad for grinding. There's a bit of a jump for Clair, a big one after her, and a massive one for Red. Found a guide for it though, you can force npc rematches and make it less of a pain.
