The Borderlands thing could be decent if they get better writers in there. If they don't...

Marvel XCOM sounds weird. But interesting I guess. That could be cool if it focuses a lot on like managing like a superhero team. One of those teams that people don't know very well. Like the Thunderbolts or Young Avengers or something.

Cthulu meets Saints Row sounds great though. Hopefully a random big budget Cthulu Saves the World sequel.

Rumors about a new Eidos Montreal game too, most people seem to be hoping for a new Deus Ex, but who knows. Doesn't seem like Square-Enix has been keen to let them to work on a game solo since the last one.

Free Shadows of the Horned Rat <- it's nothing compared to it's big brother (Dark Omen), but it's still fun enough... If you can get past how old and janky it is

I actually enjoyed the Warhammer Skulls presentation far more than I thought I would. For a company that isn't known for computer games specifically, Games Workshop did a lot right - that other companies could learn from

- mainly: they showed a whole lot of different games/upcoming mods and expansions, rapidly, with no pointless developer waffle in-between

Looks like a great Darksouls game. I wonder if G.R.R.M actually did anything or if they just put his name on it? Because it really doesn't look like a story driven game does it?

The visual designs though look amazing.

I think one could say GRRM has a habit of spreading himself thin, but not in a way that seems like a cashgrab. It's tough to envision a FromSoft game having his level of narrative, but who knows. At the very least he has enough cool ideas in his head to match Miyazaki.

I mean, I'd generally be more cynical if he had a track record of lending his name to stuff but seemingly having no involvement, which he doesn't.

You say that but he hasn't written a book in quite a while. Never the less I just wonder if actually he actually did anything. Or if he did, is it something we're going to notice.

Legitimately didn't know it was this weekend. That should tell you my expectation levels. Starfield and Fable 4 would be cool to see though.

I'm also sort of interested in finding out of Bioware has anything Dragon Age to show off. Mainly because with the mass exodus of creative talent that studio had I'm sort of curious what sort of game they're going to make. EA seems to be at least trying to fix their image now, but is it too late for Bioware to make the sort of games we want them too? Do they still have enough talented staff to even do that? Those are all questions I'd like to see begin to be answered.

No, he has, just not the one everyone is clamoring for lol. But not sure I would put those two things on the same level, especially not one that is a continuation of an existing story. Like you said, he might not be just slapping his name on it, but how much work developing a FromSoft world entails, not sure. He's a generally thorough person about these kinds of things, but he's not going it solo either. I'm actually curious if it'll be noticeable, he does have some reoccurring themes in his works. Though visually this is very much not something I would have expected from him.

They are but Dragon Age 4 is next in the pipeline. There is all sorts of info and speculation out there about it. Don't know if it will be this year though.

yeah lot of games are getting postponed to 2022. i suppose many don't want to be in a cross gen period and have to release fresh stuff on 9 differents devices ( a la cyberpunk )

Yeah, it's a tough spot to be in.

The questions I really want answered though are fundamental enough that just a good gameplay trailer would probably show it. Like, is it still a party based RPG? Is there a RT with pause mode or are they going full action? Does the story look competent?

I really like Dragon Age and I want it to be good. But even before the great Anthem fiasco. Bioware was sort of leaning toward open world and MMO style design in Inquisition and Andromeda. And I'd be ok with another Inquisition style game but if they go further down that road... I don't know.

I think Ea and Bioware kinda learned their lesson. but yeah nobody want to see those sloppy open world with repetitive gameplay, we already have Ubisoft for that

You should really hope you don't.

Bioware has multiple teams but by all reports are everybody was working on Anthem. To the point where they pulled resources from ME:Andromeda and halted development of Dragon Age 4 (Which had to be completely restarted afterward, reportedly) in that last year of trying to get that trashheap out. That was two years ago. Unless they are really rushing that we shouldn't expect any kind of ME announcement for like 2-3 years. Before they could even start they would have had to go through the preproduction stage. Nobody wants a ME game made in 18 months.
