Where did this idea that getting extra pages on the first ranking means/changes anything? Series like Our Blood Oath, Build King, and Nine Dragon Ball Parade as well as most newbies at some point get extra pages, whether before or after they were ranked

If nothing else, that is an extra push. Otherwise it'll be a chapter with a normal amount of pages. Every series you mentioned now got an extra pages at some point (not on their first rank) and got axed afterwards. I don't think that extra pages on the first ranking is a good sign.
So as I said - definitely take that "6th" place with a pinch of salt. We'll see where Red Hood is placed next week when there is no additional pages.

Well, just as I thought. Bottom 2 is awful. First ranking of Neru in the bottom 5 is not good news as well.
I wonder what other series beside Candy Flurry will be axed. Will they give Red Hood and Neru a bit more time?
If yes, then they'll have to cancel something between Ayakashi, Magu, HSF.

Well, just as I thought. Bottom 2 is awful. First ranking of Neru in the bottom 5 is not good news as well.

It is a really bad second rank but this doesn't prove the first ranking wasn't genuine. The extra pages rule has never been a thing before, all we can know is that the first ranking was 6th and the second 12th. It's not uncommon for new series to fall after their first ranking anyways.

But yeah, not good placements for Red Hood or Neru and not too shocking either. Shame, I like them both but would need a serious shake-up or sudden hit like Blue Box or The Elusive Samurai to actually stick around in the current roster. Nice to see Undead Unluck getting a cover. I'd expect the new serialisation round will begin either the week or two after.

Yeah it is a really bad second rank, but this doesn't prove the first ranking wasn't genuine. The extra pages rule has never been a thing before, all we can know is that the first ranking was 6th and the second 12th. A lot of new series fall after their first ranking anyways.

The extra page series counting as not ranked was a thing long before you registered here. Like 10 years ago. And if anything, this week ranking of RH show us that it's still the same. Extra pages are an extra push. Not as big as CP, LCP and Cover, but still an extra push. And while an early CP, LCP and Cover are a good signs of really great reception, an extra pages are kinda last call before if nothing changes, we are considering the serie as a flop. And an extra pages on the first ranking, come on, the alarm was already there.

Also, I don't remember a new manga getting a "6th" place on its first ranking and immediately after that goes to bottom 2!

Not really surprised at Red Hood ranking, I dropped it at chapter 5 and I have no idea if it fixed any of it issues, but I doubt that it did. My guess is that it sped up the plot, with characters giving info dumps and still having bland uninteresting characters with bad dialogue.

Welp as many pointed out the introduction of the bewbie lady in Red Hood was a last ditch effort to try to save the series. It was tonally different than the rest of the manga and still is. Also the characterization of characters is terrible. Only a matter of time until the series meets an untimely end.

The only way is up from here for Neru so I'm sure we will see it rise to the upper middle of the pack in subsequent weeks.

If its a new series and its at bottom then doom posting is actually normal, because it is valid? Not really sure what this comment is supposed to mean because UU is established unlike you know.. new series that are actually at a threat considering recovery is quite difficult when at that position.

Black Clover left some people disappointed in chapter 304. And thinking about that I started to imagine which current jump manga can kill characters and give more weight to the story.
And the ones that came to my mind are:

elusive samurai
sakamoto
Undead Unluck (already done this)

Boku no hero academy and jujutsu kaisen did just that.

It’s 1 week. If it was 3 weeks Ye let’s call it doomed or whatever but like damn. I see some with the “ye I called that when I dropped it” type stuff.
The point about UU since you don’t get it - people see something once and immediately go to doom posting lol. It’s so weird to me. I agree I could’ve picked a better example but that’s one I remember recently.

Red Hood first 3 chapters were kinda ass imo so not surprised it dropped like a rock but its gotten better so i think it can climb up, don't forget how Act Age and Yoza Fam both turned it around
