Parents never were shown to be stronger than the GMG dragons. No need to put them above the GMG Dragons based on their connections to the cast.

I don't see GMG Dragons being capable of flying across a continent in minutes and destroying thousands of Faces. And this is just my speculation but they could've been 'kings/queens' of their respective elements just like Igneel was.

Why? They were never given the chance to really show off anything, except Mother Glare who has probably the best DC feat between the Dragons, barring Acno and DGs.

I feel like that would of been said if so tbh

Gildarts would definitely be stronger than the standard dragon as everyone got stronger since GMG

Yes she did lol, even Jacob and Invel know what Fairy Heart is. Eileen was the one Zeref trusted to extract it's power.
No, it literally gives you infinite magic. With it, Makarov was going to make Fairy Tail as powerful as the Parent Dragons to destroy Face. Makarov also acknowledged the possibility of using it to defeat Acno.

Of course you're not, because you can't. You can say that FH failed to live up to it's hype, that's fine, but the fact is that it's a power boost, plain and simple. Zeref is simply incompetent and Natsu is simply overpowered.

Zeref doesn't have death magic. The curse of contradiction is what is responsible for what we fans call the "death wave". It is not Zeref's magic, it is Ankhseram's curse. What Zeref has is black magic, and it's not what hurt Aldaron, it is fodder. Literally no threat to Igneel.
As for your arguments against Natsu. Zeref literally stuck his hand through Natsu's chest in an attempt to kill him, then got his ass whooped. Death magic didn't save him then, because he doesn't have death magic, he has black magic, and it's weak.

Half dead Igneel not only beats August, he no diffs him. This is not a challenge, it's not even a fight, August is no threat to him. Igneel could literally just ignore every attack August launched at him until August gives up and goes home.
And no, Zeref's statement doesn't mean anything of the sort. It's ridiculous to assume Acno has never in his life been challenged, especially by the guy who took his arm.

The scene was to show the similarity between Natsu and Igneel, clearly.

Yes he does. Natsu will use Demolition Fist on anyone and everyone. He'll use it on Alvarez fodder if he wants to. So no, Natsu didn't get lucky. Jacob had no chance against him, like the rest of the spriggans, he was just too weak. No counters needed, no help needed. The manga had to structure itself to nerf Fairy Tail just so the spriggans would have a chance, and Jacob is a perfect example of that. He couldn't beat Mirajane with his "omnidirectional attack", because he's incompetent and because Transport is just not all that dangerous when Jacob is faced with people stronger than he is, like Natsu and Mirajane.
Zeref was scratched and bruised against IgNatsu. He was vaporized against DF Natsu, big difference.
I forgot about this lol, well I guess I can finally reply to you.

They knew it was infinite magic power and that it would somehow give Zeref a chance to beat Acnologia, they didn't know anything else about it. Never once was FH going to be used by itself to beat Acnologia, it was always going to be a battery for either Etherion or for the SBT. FH by itself is simply a battery that gives you time powers, it is not a power boost and has never shown to be a power boost. You can't just say it is one, you actually need to show the proof, such as a panel where Natsu comments on the increase in Zeref's physicals.

Zeref has access to all the abilities that Ankserham's curse gives him, and it's clear that Zeref was including it as one of the abilities he has full control over when he doesn't value life. He said when he values life, he can't control his powers (which is shown by death wave killing everything around him), but when he doesn't value life, he has full control (which means he has full control over death wave). It's as simple as that.

I really don't know you think death wave is weak. Its slow yeah, but weak? It was killing Aldoron 😂 and only didn't kill him instantly because of how big he was.

Honestly, I'm still kinda skeptical about half dead Igneel beating August WITHOUT physicals (because we all know he'd get the Georg treatment) because of how powerful August would become after eating Igneel's fire.

A weaker Acno beat prime Igneel and came out without any permanent damage, so what makes you think he was truly challenged against a half dead Igneel? I guess you could say it's because he stole his soul, but even then we know very little about how that took place. If Igneel can eat fire, then I do agree that any version of Igneel beats August.

I'm sorry, but it was CLEARLY shown that FT was outmatched in Alvarez and only stood a chance because of extreme PIS and plot armor. Mashima himself said that the theme of the arc was hope and that he purposely gave the villains "cheat" abilities so he can demonstrate the theme of the arc (hope). Jacob, while not having the best stats, would have beaten Alvarez Natsu in a second had his transports hit him. Natsu was lucky both times. Jacob lost against Mira because of PIS, the dude decided to 1) not use transpot and 2) fight with his eyes closed, like come on now. All the other Spriggan fights, except Wahl's and Neinhart's, were heavily in the favor of FT (even in Wahl's fight, Laxus got red lightning by chance). Switch up the matchups, and chances are the vast majority of Spriggans would have stomped their opponents. Or how about Brandish, who was one of the most op Spriggans, but of course, didn't like fighting and ended up befriending FT. There are even 2 moments where the Spriggans won/could have won but decided to kill themselves, and funny enough both times it was against the 2 strongest Spriggans. There is absolutely no doubt that FT was outmatched and only won because of insane PIS and plot armor.

-It's literally all there is to know. Fairy Heart is infinite magic.
-I can just say it's a power boost, because it's stated multiple times. By Eileen, by Invel, by Makarov, by Zeref.
-No, he has no control over the curse, none. If he did, he would have killed himself. When he doesn't care about life he masters his magic, not his curse.
-I didn't say his death wave was weak, I said he doesn't have death magic, because he doesnt. He has black magic and it's not what hurt Aldaron.
-Simple, he burns August. That's it. Ignia's casual fire is hot enough to burn Natsu's hands while he's in DF, Igneel would do the same to August's body.
-Because Igneel took his arm. You don't lose an arm if you're not challenged. Knowing very little about Igneel's death is my point, could have been anything

The arc being about hope means literally nothing. He could be talking about Acno, you know, the final villain? Hell, he could have been talking about END.
Jacob literally attacked Natsu while he was in a coma. Should I be impressed by that? I'm not. At all. And when he actually tried to use Transport in battle? The likes of Happy was fast enough to stop him. It's pathetic. So why should I even consider blaming Jacob's loss to Mirajane on PiS, when his Transport is so easy to stop that the likes of Happy can do it? For all you know Jacob tried Transport, and Mira just punched him in the face, or jumped over it, or just Macro'd him into not using it? Why should I give the likes of Jacob the benefit of the doubt? The answer is there is no reason, because he's nothing.
You can switch the matchups all you want, spriggans still would have lost. Natsu could have gone Dragon Force at any moment and slaughtered them one by one, it was just PiS that he didn't. Laxus could have nuked half of them, so could Jellal. so could Gildarts. Let's also not forget that Mavis could have used Fairy Heart to literally destroy all of Alvarez before they even crossed the border.

Power boost in the sense that Zeref can control Ravines of Time, not in the sense that his physicals increases. Feat and statement wise, it's only been a battery and given Zeref time control, not increased stats.

Except thats not how his curse works at all. It kills everything around him, not himself, otherwise when he values life, he himself would die alongside everything around him.

He does have death magic, he says he has full control over it.

Igneel's fire didn't burn Alvarez Natsu who was weaker than August. You can't compare Ignia and half dead Igneel.

I see your point, it could be argued either way.

How does it mean nothing? Clearly Hiro didn't only mean END and Acno, he also meant all of the extremely hopeless situations that FT conveniently got out of. I don't know why you decided to bring up happy as a way to downplay Jacob, did you forget Happy did the same thing to Natsu when he was going to use demolition fist against Zeref? Except Jacob only spent one panel to use transpory while Natsu spent like 4 pages charging up demolition fist. If you think Jacob is pathetic for that, I can't imagine what you think of Natsu.

Fairy Heart is the only way that you could say gave FT a genuine chance against Alvarez, but even then, their plan was to use it to charge Etherion, which most likely would have backfired and end up destroying them too. Dimaria solos everyone but Natsu (unless PIS Ultear comes and saves them), Invel solos anyone who isn't Gray or Natsu, Larcade solos almost everyone, Brandish also solos almost anyone, Bloodman solos almost everyone just by standing next to them, and the list keeps going. August could arguably solo the entire guild all at once.

More magic=more power, it's that simple. Alta Face simply increasing the magic in the vicinity already boosts you.

No, he'd simply be able to turn off his immortality if he could control it. Zeref has no control over the curse, there isn't a single panel in the manga that shows him doing so, or that suggests he is capable of it. Why would he have control over a curse that was forced on him? Makes no sense. Mavis also wouldn't need to love Zeref to kill him too, she would just use her curse to slay him outright.
Show a statement that he has death magic. He has Black Magic, he literally used a spell from the Book of Zeref the next panel, not death wave.

That was magic given by brink of death Igneel, as in already gutted by Acnologia. Igneel is comparable to Ignia, easily. Natsu is also stronger than August.

Says who? Who says he didn't mean only END and Acno?
Why wouldn't I? It's relevant to how weak Jacob is. And it shows how easily Mirajane could have countered Transport. There's no reason to give Jacob the benefit of the doubt over her. She won, he lost. As for Demo Fist, Natsu had to close the distance between him and Zeref.

That wasn't their plan, it was just one of many options. Mavis could easily just use it on Natsu to give him limitless DF and it's GG, no Etherion needed.
Dimaria gets blitzed/oneshot by Laxus or Gildarts. Erza too, who could also nullify it with Nakagami. Invel is weak, Base Gray was beating the shit out of him. Brandish is oneshottable. Larcade got beat by the likes of Sting. Bloodman is weak, even Levy can go an extended fight faced with his MBPs lol and tank his attacks on top of that. August gets beat by Natsu. Mest alone could have spriggans killing each other for Fairy Tail.

Animus is honestly probably around base Zeref level. He can poke a hole in base Natsu, and it takes a half-dragonized Natsu to bring him down. Very similar levels of difficulty for Natsu to bring these 2 down.

The BDSK probably occupy the same tier as the parent dragons tbh. Strong enough to force an Acnologia tier to assume a dragon form. Too weak to actually do anything to Acnologia in dragon form.

Fairy Heart is an infinite source of MP. This doesn't always translate to stronger attacks, particularly when you use it poorly. In this case, FH Zeref could actually poke holes in Natsu. But once we see Natsu regain some strength, FH Zeref's normal hand to hand attacks isn't anything a Natsu tier can't handle. Darkness exploding blade is a bit harder to place. All we know is that it lost out to an all-out FDK Destruction Fist. Either way, Zeref ain't striking with infinite force.

Zeref cannot control Ankhseram's curse. His generic black magic is not Ankhseram's curse. We know this because Natsu actually burned away all of Zeref's magic power (including Fairy Heart) when he defeated him, much like what happened to Mercphobia. The curse, however, was still there keeping him alive. Strictly speaking, Zeref would have lived out the rest of his immortal life with the powers of a regular human. Ankhseram's curse kills people based on whether Zeref finds their life precious or not. Zeref's magic actually gets nerfed when he is in the mindset for Ankhseram's curse to take effect. That's why Ultear beat him on Tenrou.

It can translate to strength like what the MPF does, it just depends on the attacks you use, his strongest ability would be Universe level as he was going to destroy and create a new timeline. Natsu only possibly burned away FH as he still has his original power and was going to be recover shortly. Merc had his power lost from when the WW whited him out.

More magic = more power? In most cases yes, but FH is an exception. It's infinite magic power, so if we use that logic, Zeref would have infinite power. And again, Irene had absolutely no knowledge about how Zeref would use FH, she just knew that it was a very op magic. In chapter 451, it's continuously described as a limitless generator/battery that could charge weapons, it's not a weapon itself. In the same chapter when they were thinking about using it on Acno and the Alvarez empire and even on Face, they were referring to using FH as a battery for Etherion or for Earthland, not as a weapon. Where did Zeref say that Mavis could kill him with FH? If anything, Zeref isn't saying that FH could kill him, he's saying that Mavis won't try using it to kill him (throwback to chapter 451 where she says why she won't use it).

Thats not how his curse works, he stays immortal whether or not he values life, but the same isn't said about his control over death wave. Zeref has control over the death magic, the Japanese name of the death magic is literally called Ankhseram Black Magic, and what does Zeref say in chapter 250? He says that he has full control over his magic when he doesn't value life.

Half dead Igneel is not comparable to Ignia, not even close. Prime Igneel is a different story, but half dead? Not a chance, unless Ignia is fodder compared to his old man.

Jacob solod the guild with one clap, I don't think Mira would have done any better had he actually used it against her.

Happy still stopped Natsu despite him going all out against Zeref in that moment. It took him 4 pages to charge up a demolition fist, Jacob needs half a page to use transport. You can't use Happy to downplay Jacob but then forget how Natsu had it 10x worse.

Says the entire arc. There are too many moments where FT had insane luck, one of which is when Universe 1 miraculously saved Gajeel, Natsu, Lucy, Mest, and Happy. Natsu cannot beat August, he'd copy his dragon slaying magic and would completely annihilate him. FH can just be freely given. The user can use it to charge things, but if they want to give it to someone else, then they have to enchant it to them. If it was that easy to give it to someone, then there would have never been any hesitation for FT, they would have just given it to Natsu and watch him solo Alvarez.

Erza wouldn't even know what hit her if she were to fight Dimaria, Nakagami let's you cut through magic, but of course you have to be able to cut it, if time is stopped you won't be able to cut anything. Laxus, Gildarts, and Natsu are the only ones who stand a chance against Dimaria, all the other guild members would get no diffed. Yes Larcade got beat by Sting, who had like 5 power ups and 2 other people helping him in that fight. Oh, and he was also immune to basically everything Larcade had lmao. Gildarts couldn't even resist his pleasure magic, he was fawning over his own daughter. :yodawg Invel isn't the best physically, but that doesn't matter when you win by just standing in place. Even Natsu needed a minute or 2 to melt out of his ice, so if he had trouble melting it, no one else is going to melt out of that ice. Natsu and Gray (and Gildarts if he blitzes Invel) are the only ones who can beat him. Levy only survived that long because MBP take a while to penatrate the skin, otherwise she would've ended up like all the fodder who instantly died. Same goes for almost anyone in the guild. Mest took a whole chapter to get Brandish to stab August. He'd get blitzed by any Spriggan. Like I said above, August would copy Natsu's magic and low diff him.

Why would FH be an exception lmao? It's literally the most powerful, hyped up weapon in FT. Nothing at all in the manga suggests it'd be an exception, in fact everything, literally everything points to it being the opposite.
Eileen also doesn't need to know how Zeref intended to use FH, she knew it provided infinite power and thought that was enough to defeat Acnologia. And no, it was never described as just a battery, from it's introduction it has always been known as Fairy Tail's ultimate weapon, a weapon so powerful that it would allow Tartaros Fairy Tail to rise to the level of Parent Dragons and destroy FACE. If it was just a battery it would be literally useless to fodder like Ivan, who has no weapon like Etherion or powerful fighter to provide MP.
Zeref and Invel acknowledged Fairy Heart could kill them in chapter 494
At minimum, Fairy Heart provides the same level of boost Alta Face did when he pushed everyone's MP over 99. That's the bare minimum.

Ankhseram Black Magic isn't Zeref's magic, it's Ankhseram's, Mavis specifically says Zeref is "under Ankhseram Black Magic" she doesn't say he has it. Zeref is cursed with it and has zero control over it, if he had control, he could turn it off, or even curse someone else. Zeref didn't say he regained control of his curse, he said he regained control of his magic, he then preceded to use magic from the book of Zeref. Nowhere is it stated he gained control of his curse, this is something you've made up. He's never used intentionally used his Death Wave, not once. And him being able to do so directly contradicts the end of the manga, where Zeref and Mavis HAD to love each other to kill each other. If that wasn't the case, Mavis would've just killed him immediately, and any other foe for that matter. So no, Zeref has no control, this is all headcanon.

Not really. Half Dead Igneel's stats could be the same as when he was alive, he's probably just on a timer like the rest of the Parent Dragons, who were similarly still incredibly powerful. Half Dead Igneel's performance against Acnologia is more than enough to make him comparable to Ignia and it's certainly much more than enough for him to kill the likes of August.

Except you don't know he didn't. Jacob fought Mira and lost. He got the guild with it because he had the initiative, he chose to attack first. Against Mira he had no such opportunity.

So? Zeref's the most durable character in the manga, he doesn't need that against fodder like Jacob. The Demo Fist he used against him happened in two panels. I also don't need Happy to downplay Jacob. He was beaten by Mirajane. The Happy situation is simply a logical explanation for why he couldn't beat Mira with Transport.

Gajeel had already killed Bloodman, and played no further part against Alvarez. That said, the very matchup had Gajeel against the one spriggan immune to physical attacks, Bloodman was the lucky one that he got to face someone completely helpless against him.
Natsu negated Melt, and yes, he can beat August. DF takes him down with pure physicals.

No, FH is freely given, no enchantment needed. Makarov was going to do it in Tartaros. As for why Natsu didn't take it and solo, like I said, PiS. Alvarez only survived as long as they did with luck.

Erza would likely just blitz Dimaria. So what if Sting had help? That's the game, it's a war, one on ones aren't a guarantee. That said, Gray would no diff Larcade, so would Natsu, so would Erza.
Natsu didn't have trouble melting Invel's Ice, he just didn't get serious because PiS. He doesn't even need FDK(which would have Invel recoiling in pain with it's mere presence), even Base Natsu's fire can get so hot, that it can instantaneously unfreeze Lucy and Juvia.
Levy lasted as long as she did against Bloodman because Bloodman is weak. She stated it outright, her mask did nothing. She simply tanked his MBPs, as well as several other attacks.
Mest doesn't need to fight any of the spriggans. Fairy Tail had Brandish, Jacob, Neinhart and Dimaria in chains. He could literally have enslaved all of them, but no, Fairy Tail, due to PiS not only chose not to do that, but also spare their lives so that the enemy could bring them back and give them a second fight lmao. Dumb, dumb, dumb. The epitome of plot induced stupidity. Even Bixlow and Evergreen if used right could slaughter spriggans, given that they're poweful enough to affect Gray. One look and foes like Dimaria and Brandish are done, they won't even understand what happened. Not to mention Freed, who could literally stop them from even using magic. But all this is just fluff, because the reality is that at the end of the day, all it would take is Mavis using Fairy Heart and Fairy Tail would've won easily. Spriggans are overrated, they're weak. The top tiers of Fairy Tail(I'm not even talking just Laxus/Gildarts tiers, I mean people like Gray, Mira and Gajeel) slaughter all but the top two and even they are wanked to high heaven.

Fairy Heart is an infinite source of magic power. But the magic power Zeref puts into his individual attacks is finite. Fairy Heart on it's own cannot destroy the universe. He needs the rift of time to create Neo Eclipse, and then go back in time.

Natsu definitely burned away Fairy Heart. We literally see its power fade away and Zeref returned to his normal self. In fact, Natsu burning away Fairy Heart is the entire reason he won. If even a drop of Fairy Heart's power remained, Zeref would have used it to reverse time and heal his injuries. That didn't happen. Zeref had to wait for Ankhseram's curse to kick in. The curse was going to heal Zeref's injuries, not recover his lost MP.

Mercphobia lost his power because Natsu burned it from him. White Wizard had absolutely nothing to do with Mercphobia losing his power. Faris didn't even want Mercphobia to lose his power. She wanted to use Mercphobia's power to fight the other God Dragons, and had to change her to go after Aldoron when Natsu defeated Mercphobia. Natsu defeating Mercphobia was what sealed Mercphobia's power. White Mage can't even permanently take away someone's power. When she lost her powers due to Aldoron awakening, everyone else got their powers back. Mercphobia's powers are still gone.

correction, it is not going back in time, it is a time reset, destruction and creation, it was going to recover his magic power hence why Zeref called Natsu naïve as he was going to recover shortly. That was not stated by Merc or Natsu that his power was burned away, it was said because of the White Out that did the trick, his power was already in flux and can't be controlled, she set her plan for FT that would be used for her plan to white out the other DG, even the ending of Merc arc said that the results of the White Out was were was caused him to no longer have his powers which was alright.

Doesn't matter. Zeref still needs the rift in time to pull it off. Fairy Heart alone is not enough.

Zeref never called Natsu naive. He thought he was going to die, but then realized he wouldn't. He said Natsu underestimated his powers of regeneration and that his wounds would heal and he'll be alright. But Natsu was never trying to kill him in the first place. None of this means that Zeref could keep fighting. Even if he could, it wouldn't matter. Fairy Heart's gone, so they could just keep beating Zeref up until one side gets bored.

No, it was not said that Faris was the reason Mercphobia lost his powers. Elfseria even said that it was Natsu's group that sealed Mercphobia's powers. Karameel was apologizing for introducing Faris, doesn't mean it was Faris who sealed his powers. She feels guilty about all the trouble she's caused, that's all.

Faris wouldn't care that Mercphobia was losing control of his powers, because she can control how much power to give to Mercphobia and doesn't even care if he floods everything. The whole point of whiting out Mercphobia was so that she could use him to fight the other god dragons. Mercphobia being defeated and losing his powers was something that went against her plans.

And like I said... Faris doesn't even have the power to permanently erase someone's magic. She just controls how much power they can use when they're under her white out. When Faris's powers were neutralized, everyone she whited-out got their magic power returned to them. This didn't happen for Mercphobia, who remained powerless. Faris already gave back Mercphobia his power back when he fought Natsu, and Natsu already burned it all.

even though it required the rift between time, he still has the energy needed to pull it off, naivety is basically synonymous with underestimating, anyway, Zeref would eventually win since he is immortal and Natsu if he continues using Savage Flames would burn himself until there was nothing left. It is literally said that the results from the White Out at the end was satisfying. Elfseria said that Aldaron was sealed, not Mercphobia which he say was defeated, which is odd considering Natsu did not seal Aldoron but destroyed him. Karameel wasn’t apologizing for introducing, but for asking her to white out Merc. And him being defeated was simply something not expected so she went with FT, he lost his powers on his own. It doesn’t matter if she can or can’t permanently erase someone’s magic, Merc was a special case with his own power Problem so he doesn’t have any left. She did not, as he was only half strength, so by that logic, if his power was burned away, the other half Would return, but didn’t because he has no control over it. Also thinking about it now it doesn’t make sense if she can make her victims have full power or not, and when they run out while under her control and when she is defeated they get their full power back, the only explanation is that it is her magic power that she gives them and not their own, and even though it was the ability to control a Magic’s “restriction”, there have been lines where it simply returns their magic power after the spell is lifted, otherwise this is all shenanigans.

Animus should be above base Zeref

1. He no diff'd base Natsu and killed him when he wasn't exhausted.
It was FH Zeref, not base Zeref, who poked a hole on Natsu and killed him, and this was after Natsu blew everything he had on DF and reverted to his base exhausted
2. Animus was nerfed against Natsu

Which means Animus should be a tier above base Zeref at least.

On point about the rest

Animus did not kill Natsu, he got back up later, Animus even with Dragon Cry is not really on Zeref level, even with DC is not the same as the Phoenix strength which can destroy the world, and it was compared to Zeref’s power level.

It's unreal how are you wrong about everything lmao

Zeref destroying the world :yodawg:yodawg
His largest DC is building level lmao. Not like I care much about AOE, but the dude is in no way world ender. Maybe over 1000 years since he's immortal

Nerfed Animus one shotted Natsu, he literally had a giant hole through his torso. He got revived by Lucy's tears or something, used a stronger DF than he used against Zeref, and defeated him with multiple blows

A weaker DF Natsu vapourized FH Zeref. He would've been done had it not been for FH, which allows him to rewind his time, basically meaning a weaker DF Natsu would've destroyed base Zeref

Animus wasn't one shotted by one of the strongest DF of Natsu we've seen. Took him many blows to go down.

Dragon Eileen was one shotted by Erza

Which is stronger?
