The most interesting part is the fact that Chaos can and does resurrect people!
You don’t even need Arthur to be at the scene to do that.
I think the only limitation, that you need a part of original body to summon soul to.
So that rolls out Esca and Moni with Deri because their bodies are ash.
Also it explains why didn’t Arthur resurrect old inhabitants of Camelot. They were attacked by demons, and those guys eat souls. Chaos can’t bring a soul back to the body, if there isn’t one to pull from the one of the underworlds.
It comes down to Arthur's mastery of Chaos, but assuming he had full control of the power and was at an equal level to the original entity then this limitation shouldn't even exist.

The Gods cursed Elizabeth to reincarnate with new human bodies each time, to the point where her death changed destiny to ensure she would die at 72hr in front of Meliodas, who would be forced to stand there and watch her die.

If the DK/SD can create that type of situation. then Chaos can achieve greater, to the point where I honestly do not think there's anything stopping Arthur from having limitless power. Which comes back to the situation of ''Why does Arthur sit in Camelot scared of Liones''

Derieri was reincarnated anyway, but it would be interesting to see her have closure with Monspiet.. Nakaba killing her off was criminal

While I still believe that Arthur's forces are probably targeting Bartra, I just remembered that demon's Gowther's corpse should still be located underneath the castle. He would be a significant asset for Arthur considering that he basically orchestrated the end of the first Holy War with his OP magic. During the events of Gowther's gaiden which took place some 70 years ago, demon Gowther's corpse was in a fairly good condition despite being almost 3000 years old at the time, but that doesn't necessarily mean Melascula could still summon his soul back into his body after all this time. Arthur's knights have already attempted to seal Meliodas away with the Coffin, so trying to utilize demon Gowther's powers next would be somewhat consistent with their earlier actions. The question is how would Arthur's knights know about the body, which would probably have to come down to Merlin. She was taught magic by demon Gowther so she might be able to locate his body through some traces of his magic or whatever, and she also spent some time modifying doll Gowther who could have told her about her mentor's fate. As far as recycling the Ten Commandments members goes, demon Gowther would actually be a good option in my view since his role in NnT was so brief. Greyroad and Calmadios also deserve more screen time and perhaps we could even see Aranak and Zeno actually do something.

I really want the person under the cloak to be merlin who was levitating...but it looks like they jumped...maybe they flew. I don't know. But people are correct she defo knows Liones.
Does she? As a member of the Sins she has been involved with Liones for quite a while, but most of that happened a long time ago. After the Sins were framed for Zaratras' murder she spent a decade or so in Camelot, only visited Liones a couple of times during the events of NnT and then left with Arthur at the end of the series. She's stayed in Liones for like a couple of weeks in the last 30 years. She might still remember the major landmarks, but I doubt she's very familiar with the kingdom as a whole anymore.

I do also speculate on how beings with Chaos biology interact with light and dark magic. We saw the goddesses and demons possess high levels of resistance or outright immunity to their own element.

As Chaos is the unity of light and darkness, do creatures of Chaos have an inherent resistance/immunity to the magics of the Goddess and Demon clans? It would make sense, but it's unconfirmed.

Mael absorbed demonic magic and had his biology altered to become somewhat of a hybrid at one point in time, but absorbing darkness didn't make him more exposed to the light element since he still was a Goddess, as we saw.

So Melascula & Galand in my opinion would become more resistant to the light and dark elements if they got powers from Chaos. So it'll be interesting to see how Elizabeth/Mel's magic works against them.

I don't think Gowther Sr. could be the goal here. Mera can't use her powers on people who don't have strong negative feelings after their death. Even if it could be done, his body wouldn't be in a good state + his hatred wouldn't be towards the Sins or KoA.

I agree that it's unlikely, but I don't think there are that many obstacles to the idea. Melascula's spell reanimated and regenerated some partly decomposed corpses and even managed to revive Galand when all that was left of him was a petrified head. Compared to those two, demon Gowther's body was in a pretty good condition.

Granted that was roughly 70 years ago, but the body had already been dead for over 2900 years at that point so I doubt 70 years would really change things much. The lack of negative feelings isn't much of an issue either considering that Elaine's negative feelings amounted to very slight jealousy over Ban and Jericho, which was such a minor gripe that Nakaba just used it to make Elaine look cute.
The spell amplified that borderline insignificant negativity to the point that she became cruel and violent even towards Ban. Demon Gowther was pretty chill, but I'm skeptical that he would have been completely free of negative thoughts, especially if those thoughts could have arisen after death like with Elaine. It's also worth nothing that back when he was alive he would have been forced to keep his emotions in check to avoid triggering the Commandment of Selflessness, so his personality could have changed after he was freed from that. The fact that he doesn't have a reason to hate the good guys is only a minor obstacle, because that could easily be explained by whatever Chaos influence caused Melascula and Galand to enthusiastically serve a man who wants to get rid of their entire clan. There seems to be some sort of mind control in play here.

The biggest issue, as I already mentioned earlier, is that demon Gowther's been dead for 3000 years. This could mean that his soul has somehow moved on for good, but it's hard to say whether that would actually be a problem since we don't really know how that stuff works. According to Melascula, there is some kind of an afterlife in the setting, which may or may not be related to the floating souls that she can summon or the process of reincarnation. If Nakaba ever explores these concepts further, I would be interested to learn what happened to the souls that were consumed by the demons. Was Zhivago's soul just permanently deleted from existence when Galand ate it or was it just stuck inside Galand's body until he got petrified and died?

Anyway, my point is that it would be fairly easy to write a scenario where Melascula uses her magic to revive Gowther. I think Bartra is a much more likely target for the forces of Chaos given that his Vision was already stated to be something that Arthur is concerned about, but demon Gowther isn't out of the question either and would make for quite a wild twist.

It was played for laughs but I am not sure it was supposed to be insignificant. Anyway, I'd love Gowther Sr. to come back and theoritically Arthur could do a lot of things but when he died he wanted his son to be taken care of, have friends and stuff. Diane and King "saved" Gowther Jr.'s heart. The Demon King and Supreme Deity also died. I am not sure what motive he'd have to come back. Plus Mera's spell doesn't need to know where a target is specifically. It affects a large area.

I'd give Nakaba some props if he recycled Gowther Sr. into the story and gave us more insight into his (and Merlin's by extention) past.

In terms of the negativity aspect, Gowther Sr was petty enough to choose Mael for the target of his spell due to the latter killing his (Gowther Sr's) lover, so he has his own issues that could be manipulated. That said, I think it'd be much more interesting if he was someone who went along with Arthur's goals because he just agrees with the end result. We know Merlin spent a lot of time researching Chaos and I wouldn't be surprised if Gowther Sr assisted her in that journey.

I think Merlin is too obvious a choice and Deathpierce only makes since on the surface. I doubt he would work with demons and I doubt he would involve himself in something that would get him and more humans killed. And I think he’s the antagonist of that new movie
Only reason I wouldn't discount him is because we were shown with Ardbeg that Arthur could be oddly charismatic. So I could believe that he could convince Deathpierce to help for the greater good, especially if the end goal will rid Britannia of the demons and goddesses permanently. And given the differences in morality and methods between the Knights of Chaos, the threat to regular humans is probably not known by every knight.

I do also speculate on how beings with Chaos biology interact with light and dark magic. We saw the goddesses and demons possess high levels of resistance or outright immunity to their own element.

They likely have massive resistances in general, if they're comparable to the other creatures of Chaos we've seen. Cath tanked everything thrown at him, and Wild survived fighting the Demon King numerous times. Even Hawk was able to resist a demonic death attack.

It will also be interesting to see how this ties back to Tristan, since he's technically a naturally born being of Chaos... Would he also have such a resistance, or could being naturally born grant him something more then those artificially made? I think that will be the case, because while the two have the power of chaos, they are probably still mostly demonic and below what Tristan is.

Wouldn't it be OOC for him to agree with Arthur? He wanted to end the Holy War and didn't seem to hate the other races. In fact he taught Merlin, who is most likely Human.

Here are some observations and theories regarding the dragon handle and its potential significance. I considered making a separate thread for this, but I don't really have anything else to say on the matter, so I decided to just dump it here in the general discussion.

I was reading about the Leviathan on Wikipedia a while back and stumbled upon some interesting details.

The overview reads:
Leviathan is a sea serpent noted in theology and mythology. The Leviathan is often an embodiment of chaos and threatening to eat the damned after their life.
The concept of a chaos serpent may seem familiar, because in the Sistana arc we learned that the dragon handle part of the Coffin of Eternal Darkness represents a Dragon of Chaos. This entity was apparently important enough to be depicted alongside the major clans, minus the demons of course, as one of the pieces of the Coffin:
The fact that this entity is connected to the dragon handle is an important detail, because we have previously seen a massive ghostly dragon briefly manifest from it, seemingly invisible to everyone present:
Originally this scene could have been interpreted as Meliodas exerting his "Dragon's Sin" aura to scare off Oslo. However, in light of this new information that the handle represents an actual creature that once existed in the world, it seems likely that there could be something more to it. The Coffin was crafted by Dubs, who in the 2nd movie used a staff that managed to seal Meliodas and Elizabeth within it. Perhaps the dragon could have ended up sealed within the handle in a similar manner. This could also mean that Percival using the dragon handle sword is not just a parallel between him and Meliodas, but actually an important plot point that relates to the Dragon of Chaos potentially breaking out of its prison.

It's worth paying attention to the dragon's appearance, as both the handle itself and the ghostly apparition that manifested from it appear to have no arms or legs, which is how sea serpents like the Leviathan are typically depicted. The fact that Nakaba chose a serpent-like design for the dragon is quite interesting given the Biblical elements in both NnT and the sequel. The Wikipedia article on 'Serpents in the Bible' reads:
In the Hebrew Bible, the Book of Genesis refers to a serpent who triggered the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden in Eden (Gen 3:1–20). Serpent is also used to describe sea monsters. Examples of these identifications are in the Book of Isaiah where a reference is made to a serpent-like dragon named Leviathan (Isaiah 27:1), and in the Book of Amos where a serpent resides at the bottom of the sea (Amos 9:3).
Based on this, it's possible that the Dragon of Chaos was inspired by that famous serpent in the Bible. Funnily enough, that would mean that the early state of the world of NnT was actually somewhat similar to the Biblical Genesis. You have Chaos representing God and then you have a man(the Demon King), a woman(the Supreme Deity), the tree of knowledge of good and evil(the Sacred Tree) and a Serpent(the Dragon of Chaos). You could interpret the DK and the SD sealing Chaos away as a similar act to Adam and Even disobeying God, but personally I think this is too loose of a connection to be meaningful, at least for now.

All that stuff is cool enough on its own, but it gets better when we look at the section of the Wikipedia article that discusses the Leviathan as it relates to Christianity in particular:
Leviathan can also be used as an image of the devil, endangering both God's creatures—by attempting to eat them—and God's creation—by threatening it with upheaval in the waters of Chaos. A "Dragon" (Drakon), being the usual translation for the Leviathan in the Septuaginta, appears in the Book of Revelation. Although the Old Testament nowhere identifies the Leviathan with the devil, the seven-headed dragon in the Book of Revelation, is. By this the battle between God and the primordial chaos monsters shifts to a battle between God and the devil. Only once, in the Book of Job, the Leviathan is translated as Sea-Monster (ketos).

In the following chapter, a seven-headed beast, described with the same features as the dragon before, rises from the waters endowing a Beast of the Earth with power. Dividing the beasts into monster of water and one of dry earth is probably a recalling of the monstrous pair Leviathan and Behemoth. In accordance with Isaiah 27:1, the dragon will be slain by God on the last day and cast into the abyss. The annihilation of the chaos-monster results in a new world of peace, without any trace of evil.
This suggests that the Dragon of Chaos could actually be the dragon in the Book of Revelation. In case some people are not aware, the Book of Revelation describes the events of the Christian Apocalypse, which is where the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse originate from. Given that both the manga itself as well as the main group in it are named after the Four Horsemen, it seems relatively likely that Nakaba would also include some other elements from the Book of Revelations in this series. This means that the Dragon of Chaos might actually be the devil, who appears during the Apocalypse and is defeated by God at the end of it. Normally the idea of Satan himself appearing in a story like this would sound silly, but we are dealing with a series that has already referenced many other Biblical concepts and that is specifically named after elements of the section of the Bible in which Satan is finally defeated. If the Dragon of Chaos really is based on Satan, then it's quite likely to be the final villain of the series given the whole prophecy about how the FKOTA are going to trigger the Apocalypse. That said, Satan is supposed to take on the form of a seven-headed dragon, but the dragon handle depicts a dragon with only a single head. Perhaps the Dragon of Chaos is merely the Leviathan after all, or maybe the dragon handle only represents/contains one of Satan's seven heads that were somehow separated from one another.

To wrap things up, I want to briefly bring up a couple of details that may or may not be related to all of this. Firstly, one of the databooks apparently stated that Zalpa, the tribal who saved Matrona, respects 'the dragon god'. I say apparently because I found this info on the Wiki and they did not include a source, so take this with a grain of salt. This is the only mention I could find of some sort of a dragon god, but it definitely sounds like it could be referring to the Dragon of Chaos. This would presumably mean that this dragon or at least a part of it is involved with the savage tribes. I wouldn't mind something like that to be honest, because the tribes always seemed like such a random element in the setting. Secondly, most readers probably remember the giant skeleton mountain that Sin teleported Percy and Donny to in chapter 5. Donny called it "the dragon's backbone" and it looks like the spine of a gigantic serpent. That seems like it could also be connected to the Dragon of Chaos, as the mountain was hundreds of times larger than the other dragons we've seen in the series. This a very loose idea, but perhaps this means that the Dragon's body(the skeleton), mind(the dragon god?) and soul(the ghost in the Dragon Handle) have somehow split apart and become separate entities? Or maybe each serpent is a different head/aspect of Satan taking on a different form? Who knows. Like I said, these details may or may not be related, but I thought I'd mention them anyway for the sake of completeness.

TL;DR: The Dragon of Chaos that the dragon handle represents might be the Leviathan or perhaps even Satan. Final villain material.

I don't think that skeleton is related since there are many types of Dragon monsters but Percival's powers being related to something like that would make sense because even other non-Humans seem perplexed by his abilities. He has the Ouroboros sword too.

I also remember Zeldris's hobby used to be dragon slaying or something. Maybe the Demons once met that Dragon God and killed it. There is also Arthur, the current King of Chaos whose last name is Pendragon.

Wouldn't it be OOC for him to agree with Arthur? He wanted to end the Holy War and didn't seem to hate the other races. In fact he taught Merlin, who is most likely Human.
Gowther Sr is a bit unique. He didn’t support it but didn’t contribute in the slightest except when it benefited him and when he effectively had nothing left. Although, he taught Merlin I find it unlikely he did it just to pass on his knowledge (considering gowther already exists). It’s more likely Merlin made him an offer he couldn’t refuse whether it was through her wits or some application of her innate magic.

in fairness Gowther Sr doesn’t have many scenes so I could be completely wrong

Gowther Jr. said that he was interested in Merlin's growth and potential. I don't think Merlin could have blackmailed him to do anything when she was his apprentice back then. She wasn't as strong as she is now. The other Demons were probably not aware of this or they would have killed her.

Huh, I could've sworn I posted my response.

Anyway, yeah, it doesn't seem like he hates the other races and was genuine in his want to end the Holy War, but I don't think that means that he is without interest in Chaos and it's motivations himself. It's possible that the imbalance in power that spurred the Holy War made him believe that stuff like this was inevitable with the current status quo. So he may back Arthur because he believes Arthur's plans would prevent a similar situation from happening.
