So, let me get this straight, Cha was one of the defacto strongest leaders of the defacto strongest guerilla fighting group - so strong that Zahard had to make sure he was put on ice - and someone that FUG specifically sought out, but he wasn't special enough to even be a Slayer candidate? The same Cha that's just as strong now as then, and is basically being offered a seat at the table by Jinsung.

OK, play that out. Rei wins, Baam is his play thing... and then what?

The entire trajectory of the story is Baam vs Zahard/his parents' murderer/the Tower tyrant/false pretense empire/etc - that aligns with FUG whether the latter forced him (very early on I might add). Baam is content with FUG. He's against Rei controlling him now that he has some level of agency, and that FUG has gone from puppetmasters to compatriots. Baam has no reason to fight Rei's battles, and every reason to fight FUGs.

Same thing that happened with FUG right? He arranges people close to him. Gives him the pseudo family he never had. Give him nice things. Help out his friends. Tames him essentially.

Jinsung started out threatening to murder his friends as you may recall. And FUG has repeatedly tried to murder his friends. Baam never knew his parents. He has no real reason to give a damn about them really. They're just strangers to him.

Now I don't think that's how it's going to go but the point stands that the FUG situation proved that Baam is very susceptible to stolkholm syndrome. I don't like that he is, but he is.

Right, but I'm not asking the question of the mechanics of HOW Rei would go about it, but rather the story as a whole. This is a story of Baam entering the Tower - literally the child of prophecy to kill the King - to fight Zahard/empire. Not fight on their behalf.



What FUG did was to a young, naive Baam. That's not the current Baam. Not everything is exactly the same. That's like Spartan society being really hard on young Spartan boys - who are raised to then fight for Sparta. They don't just change allegiances to the next person or group that is forceful to them again, but instead die fighting for the same group that raised them so harshly. The period to get a Baam that is unmolded clay has passed. Baam, for whatever reason, has gotten over FUG and even Jinsung to the point he's willing to fight and risk his allies to save Jinsung.

Baam's story will always be the story of the irregular that entered the Tower to shake things up, not fight *for* empire or status quo to squash the rebellion.

HG emerged DURING the time of Genesis. that doesn't mean there were slayers yet. just because FUG was around doesn't mean there were slayers yet. White is a 2nd gen slayer which was well after Genesis. The 1st Gen slayers(including Luslec) are refered to as "The Ancient Gods"and were created during the height of the FHs reign of power. Which would be AFTER HG was destroyed. So saying Cha-Ch-Cha-Chia was LIKE one of the OG slayers is not far from the truth. And that truth is you were wrong and spent a lot of energy and words proving it.

Edit: From what I read it said nothing about when slayers were actually created. they could have been created at the same time as HG when Luslec found individuals that possessed great power, yet didn't work well with others. As Dowan stated "they were less Human" so you can imagine they would not have been team players. congratz on your prize of winning nothing of substance. you still can be wrong.

Khel - not listed as a Slayer at any point, and still young so not an 'elder' gathered "FUGs most powerful fighters" - that either means the Slayers then were not shit, or that they were included alongside Hidden Grove, who WERE strong enough to be considered on par with Slayers and in the attack group. Even lower-level HG members were considered strong enough for Khel - FUG's then strongest fighter - to take with. Even more so for Dowon and Cha as they are notably stronger than the other HG, but were sealed at that time.

So, how could Dowon know of Slayers if they were around before she was sealed, but they weren't strong enough to go with Khel to fight Zahard? Again, either this is something she read about after waking up or she didn't know them personally. Or she did - but they didn't qualify as "FUG's most powerful fighters" - take your pick.

In any event, Cha and Dowon would have been considered 'among FUG's strongest' back then.
