I think Kintarou and Ryoma are already at least tier 3. Kintarou answer Tanegashima ultimate technique the very first time it's been used against him, which is something even Bismarck couldn't do. And Ryoma is confirmed to be better than Kintaorou via statement.

Arguably yeah

But I think the Majority will still think Bismarck and Tanegashima are stronger than Current Ryoma and Current Kintarou right now in Singles.

I know Kintarou returned Tane's ultimate void technique once. But I think if Kintarou and Tanegashima fight in a 1 V 1. Tane will win.

ANYWAYS, that became off topic

Going back, Ryoma is more flashy, tricky and skilled than Duke. But Duke is more experienced, more powerful, and have better stats.

I really want to lean on Duke here. But there is a chance Ryoma can win.

Like Duke will probably beat Ryom 6/10 or 7/10. Yes, I think this is closer than what others think

I think it was Kaoz who brought this up.
Ryoma didn't use his TNK vs Ludovic.
Wonder why!
Didn't found that post, but the idea was it was Ludovic who made him unable to use it.
How? Find the post.
Vs Fuji?
He used hope, but Fuji uses net trick which made ball ended up in Ryoma's court.
However it could put a hole on web?
But maybe because of technique that Fuji used it's kinda has some kinda effect to decrease it.
Though Ryoma could have use it as serve too.
So If you can avoid hope to become unaffected then it is possible to prevent TNK right of the bat.
However two game skipped just like Tokugawa and others. Which I think something happened off screen that we might have seen it in finals.

Vs Fuji and Ludovic.
Ryoma uses two different style.
Kijin and TNK as a along his base and hope as a big advantage then drive b.

Whatever Konomi-San must fill this things up.
So I said it again after Ryoma defeating Ryoga I put him above Duke. But he must win. No alternative for Prince allowed.

If Ryoma Defeat Ryoga.

Ryoma will be compared to Ryoga, Volk, Byodoin, Medanore, and Tokugawa.

No one will even consider to compare Duke to A Ryoma Version that beats Ryoga.

Since Ryoga is miles away better than Duke. (hyperbole ofc)

Eh. Bismarck do beat Tanegashima when they play solo and Kintarou have a feat SURPASSING Bismarck. I wouldn't be sure about that. Kintarou apparently just really sucks at doubles and that's somehow why he's getting pushed prior to that point according to the narrative. There's actually no real evidence that Kintarou didn't reach that tier after that shot. Remember that before this Kintarou actually have a score even with Oni and also he's pretty much beating the ace and possibly #1 player of Australia.

So, you think Kintarou can beat Bismarck, Tanegashima, and Romeo?
(If he is in that tier, he should have at least a decent chance against them)

Added Romeo, because Bismarck beats Romeo in our weekly matchup.

He have a feat surpassing Bismarck so why wouldn't he at least have a shot at those 3?

Because it was a fluke. He didn't even notice Tanegashima had gone invisible. Until then we know they had failed to return regular Mu every time and yet we saw Bismarck return it and even score in that opportunity.

Bismarck was managing to rally against an invisible Tanegashima, albeit in a disadvantage.

I think I'm going Duke as well. Ryoma can win but Duke was a worthy S1 in both the intra team tournament and the France encounter (against someone that is usually scaled around Ralph, who in turn is seen as stronger than Kiko).

The whole point of that match us showing how good Kintarou became at doubles, thinking probably even faster than Ohmagari (based on an earlier explanation he gave). Following where the ball would be and where to attack, he scored in that final point. Not because he found a weak point in Tanegashima's invisibility to exploit in a 1 on 1. It's not like a single feat is indicative of a whole lot, either.

He did look slightly better than Dorgias, but remember Dorgias was levelled with Atobe, who in turn was considerably weaker than base Romeo, who was weaker than Bismarck.

So we have Kin>=Dorgias=Atobe<Romeo<Bismarck.

I can make a Kin match up for next week. Just dunno against who.

Well maybe you're right.
Yet, there is something about Ryoga's tennis!
Beating number 4 like a piece of cake.
Almost swallowed destruction forever.
Yet, Medanore says he is the only one who can play Vs him (Volk, Boss)
Another, he's lack of something in his tennis.
A limit?
I wonder if he managed to fill that void.
Ryoma probably is the only MSers who can beat him. It's more like Luffy Vs Eneru. Since they are brothers and they have advantages Vs each other in some simplest matter that no one ever has against them.
This match is going to solves many things:))

I disagree that it was a fluke, and the result is everything. Bismarck fail and Kintarou succeed. It's as simple as that. That Kintarou at that point already go even with PoP Oni as well. And these kind of things are why I say Kintarou is underestimated here.

And I highly doubt Atobe at that point can beat Dorgias.

No way is Kintarou beating Bismarck in a 3 Set Singles match imo.

But anyways agree to disagree. Hahahaha

To be clear, I think Bismarck/Tane beats Current Ryoma too. So yeah.😅

But if you want to say Ryoma/Kin should be at least same tier as them. I can at least see the argument

Kin himself said he hadn't even noticed that Tanegashima had gone invisible when he scored. The teams were rallying as doubles whereas Bismarck was taking an Invisible Tanegashima 1 on 1 (and still managing to rally). Kin along with Ohmagari (before he revealed his counters) couldn’t return regular Mu whereas Bismarck not only did it alone but actually scored against it.

Yes, Kin managed to keep his service game once at 30-15 vs TnK Oni, managing to score twice in a row with his serve and got dispatched admittedly fast shortly after. What do we do with this information?

Atobe said he was managing to rally against TnK thanks to facing Dorgias and then he scored in the one point we saw them play using his hidden special move. Why shouldn’t we trust this?

Who is a good opponent for Kin for next week? I think Ludovic could be fun for a "what if" but I'm not sure it can bring up a lot of elaborared discussion.

For Kin matchup. I would have said Bertie. But I think he only play doubles. So maybe, he is significantly worse in Singles.

Ludovic is good. Who else? Hmmm.

Oh. I have.

Kintarou VS Zeus!!!!

We all agree that Romeo, Bismarck, Tanegashima beat Zeus. (Tane literally beat him albeit with a trick. But still)

So, I think it will be nice to see how do we see Kintarou relative to Zeus

Zeus discussion wouldn't yield much because we know so little about him.

I mean we see a Full match of him Vs Tanegashima.

We know he have Aura that can make weak mental player (like Shiraishi) pissed his pants.

We know he can contol pace. And have a trick that he will make you feel you are winning but in actuality, you are losing.

That's all.

Unless, you think Zeus didn't show all his cards against Tanegashima?

Which I doubt. Because when Tane beat his Control Pace technique. Zeus have nothing more up in his sleeves.

Just because he didn't notice Tanegashima gone invisible doesn't mean it's a fluke he answer the ball. It's his instinct at work in the end that was ALWAYS praise in the series. Why are you looking at it as a negative? It could means invisbility doesn't even work on Kintarou instinct at all as well.

We do with that information that he 1-1 Oni with both of them keeping their service game and Kintarou managing to keep a score that he is simply 15 points ahead of THE PoP Oni.

I'll give that Atobe one point to you that we just trust if you take one point that Kintarou SURPASS Bismarck as his benchmark then OR even the entire 1-1 that is surely more than one point. If that one point count and you selectively not counting Kintarou one point, you're just underestimating Kintarou which in the end prove my point.

Ken,

If we are scaling Kintarou above Bismarck/Tanegashima. (Cause Kintarou have a feat above them)

Then We will Scale and elevate high out of Ryoma.

Cause it is said that Kintarou have no chance against Ryoma

Which will imply Ryoma is MUCH BETTER than Tanegashima/Bismarck
(Which I doubt tbh)

PS: Or maybe you think Kintarou is equal to Bismarck/Tanegashima.

No but that's my point. We know he controls pace magically and is super intense. There's not much to analyze about his playstyle. Any discussion is just: can character x play sporadically enough to win?

Yes, I think he's about equal. If they were to play regardless of who win I think the score would be 6-4 7-5 or 7-6.

And if he's about equal to them and scale Ryoma accordingly, then France line up against Japan would make much more sense in terms of France being decently strong and its ranking.

Ludwig's 23.5 profile.

Ludwig's tenipuri party profile.

Keep in mind Kin's stats are not up to date: just like Ryoma has one of the highest growth rates in the series. The fact that he has gotten bigger seems to indicate he's grown yet again in power and stamina, and him outlasting Ryoma vs Seda's trickery may show he has grown in Mental, too.

Ludwig's stats are a bit of a mystery but I imagine they have similar peaks as Ryoma's, prioritising Speed and Technique, adding Power on top since its his highlight.

Poll will be up tomorrow. I will update this post if I've missed anything.

Oh. Kintarou wins convincingly imo.

Assuming The France Prince has no powerup off screen.

Dorgias might be even stronger than Ludovic. Ngl. Or maybe same level.

And Kintarou kinda dominated Dorgias in their whole match. Well, not dominated but he has the control whole game.

I'm not seeing it 100% as a negative. In doubles, that is higher paced, experience is extra valuable... and to compensate that, so is instinct. Kin's doubles sense grew at an alarming rate in that match and Ohmagari was surprised by how quickly he was making decisions.

Of course, it's open to interpretation, but to me he was so absorved into this higher pace that Tanegashima's move didn't matter at all: Kintarou's sense ditacted that someone was going to be there and an opportunity to score would follow. This is capped off with Kin proclaiming "DOUBLES IS FUN" or what have you as he scored. It's great character development. Konomi admittedly "screwed up" when he made Ryoma return to Japan and I think he just didn't know what to do with Kin's character with Echizen around, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Singles and its slower pace is another story, and even then both him and Ohmagari hadn't managed to return regular Mu (together), which should be the starting point of the conversation.

If its just Kin being immune to the Ultimate Void, then he gained nothing in that match. Nor does it mean anything to his overall level. If Yuushi can close his heart and counter Saiki , that doesn't mean he was better than Chitose or Tezuka back at the Nationals. Tanegashima can return the Wibletraufe with Mu, but he cannot win against Volk. And a huge etcetera.

-

That information doesn't tell us anything. Ok, again, TnK Kin serving won 2 points in a row against TnK Oni. Now what? That doesn't mean that they are equal, the sample size is insignificant, he was already ahead and he was serving which had a huge impact. Sengoku won a game against Ryoma, too, that doesn't mean they aren't like 4 tiers apart.

Kintarou didn't say "I'm as good as Oni/Bismarck/Tanegashima's level" nor anything like that, like Atobe did (right as he scored).
