I just said she wasn't weak. That's all. Anything else is your addition.

And since when has Man power been a qualifier to join?

Luffy has a Grand Fleet and forms temporary alliances to achieve the goal needed for that arc.

It makes more sense that IF another Strawhat is to be added this late in the story, that they have a narrative purpose rather than "Can fight good".

That's why I believe it will be Vivi as opposed to anyone else.

Also to add. Up until this point the Strawhats have been climbing their way up one Island at a time. There is going to become a time where they reach the world stage and what they stand for will have to reach the world to have a reasonable impact on a more political scale. After all that IS a part of the world of One Piece, the politics that the world runs on will come into play.. We know Dragon has been playing that angle for the most part, inciting their own people to stand up to tyranny.

That is the role Vivi can play for the Strawhats, she is well known and has experience dealing with the politics of a country.

This will be a part of the story, and Vivi is perfect to represent the Strawhats and also the inherited will of D.

I can't see anything as important for Yamato.
Well you've been suggested candidates with evidence and rationale to back it up and you shoot them down every single time, seemingly because they're not the same as Vivi.

So if you're going to shooting down all of them because they're not the same as Vivi, then that's basically succumbing to standards that are a little too high, perhaps even higher than Oda's own standards.

There's plenty of people who believe Yamato will join, and for good reason backed up by examples that are pretty straightforward. Wanting to sail + being a good rearguard back-up for the crew to prevent more deaths + being Wano representative to the extent of bringing Laugh Tale answers to Momo on his behalf after the journal was missing info.

And if those examples aren't enough, then nothing will ever be enough I guess. You might as well be asking for the moon, and the sun, and the stars, and the asteroid belt. Nothing that may ever be enough in comparison to Vivi who might not even want to join full time since she has been shown to want to dedicate herself to Alabasta first and foremost.

Basically, if you're going to go as so far as to shoot down other candidates no matter what evidence and rationale is brought up, then you shouldn't find it surprising if everyone else shoots down Vivi as a full-time candidate on those same merits.

Now with that out of the way, let's get back to having some fun. :)

Do I seem surprised that others are shooting my theory down? I hope not because I actually enjoy a debate whilst waiting for the next chapter.

I've made my points clear and I strongly stand by them, although I could be wrong, I don't feel like other character's add enough to the story.

I haven't seen anyone able to shoot down my reasoning, Just trying to push theirs. Theories are to be scrutinized and if they collapse then they weren't good. I welcome people to do the same to mine, but nobody has.

My whole point stems from the narrative, there has to be narrative value for someone to join this late.

And honestly, I can think of many other characters I personally want to join, Yamato is one of them. I was stoked during Wano with the thought of her joining, she would have some interesting interactions being so sheltered and experiencing life outside Wano, I am enjoying the cover stories of her exploring too.

Hey, Momo asking Yamato to go find Luffy and bring back answers is not bad! It's a bit random but I do agree it's a good point. Sorry if you mentioned that and I overlooked it. I do also believe Yamato fits better vs Blackbeard Pirates and we know that fight HAS to be even with numbers, I don't see Vivi being more helpful than Yamato... but I also don't see Nami being of help either. So there's 2 points for Yamato.

I also agree that Vivi won't be full-time as I think the Strawhats will disband after Luffy's dream is completed. He wants to become Pirate King and do one thing, and we are up to that part of the story, so no matter IF anyone joins it is going to feel more temporary as the story is already nearing it's end (Although that can be years in our time).

So, I will shut up about this until someone can provide a better narratively sound reason as to why another character has more to add to the Strawhats journey and the story itself, It's Vivi. Again, I personally would prefer Yamato to join, but Vivi is literally being written back in.

Enough from me :)

Pretty obvious Yamato is a Strawhat. Don't know why you are wasting so much time and energy making argument.

1. Strawhats need a Kozuki to complete their journey. Why? Just like Roger needed Oden. (You can argue Momo will join the Strawhats I guess? But I dont think anyone would bet on that)

2. Yamato literally wants to become Oden. Which means he will travel around the world, he will not hole up in Wano. And if not on Strawhat's ship, where else?

And if Yamato joins the Strawhats, that's 3 women, it makes the chances of Vivi joining the crew close to 0.

I thought Robin was their Oden? Since the whole reason why Roger asked for him was for someone to read the ponagyphs and learn the void centuries history which is Robin's whole thing.

Kinda, but I think it's more tied with Kozuki / Joyboy than with reading Poneglyphs in this case. Plus, Robin doesn't have the knowledge on how to write into the Poneglyphs like Oden did, whereas the Kozuki have the knowledge on how to carve Poneglyphs.

Technically, they only needed Oden because he knew how to write / read the ancient language.
Regardless if they join the ship as crewmates or not, both of them will be in the final war by Luffy's side. That's a given. Yamato may officially join then as part of the SH crew, just like Jinbei did after coming back from Whole Cake Island.

There's 2 possible outcomes on this:
Yamato continues their persuit of becoming like Oden and learns things the same way / path.
Yamato realises that their experiences and Oden's experiences while similar are not the same and decides to become their own person.

Regardless of those 2 outcomes, Yamato is a member, even if not yet joined.

I personally feel Yamato will be herself as she grows as a character, merely being inspired by Oden. Her staying behind is already showing growth since Oden himself sailed out right away.

And if Yamato will give up sailing with Luffy, then a discussion point can also be had there as to how Yamato would still grow beyond that too.

Some people seem so scared of the story ending quickly that they’ve already written Yamato off as someone who will never join despite still wanting to like Jinbe did. And act as if it’s impossible due to it being “too late”, as if they assume the manga will end in less than 100 chapters or something.

Actually, assuming it will be too late for Oda to follow-up in such things goes against how Oda has continually shown to follow-up on plot points. If people want to argue how Yamato will never join Luffy, then it would surely help to their point to base it on how Yamato would grow as a character rather than nebulous things like “Oda doesn’t have time”, in addition to “She’s not the same as Vivi”.

Here's the way I see it:
1. Kuma/Bonney is the most likely duo for a full-time status crew member. Kuma has more going for him, including the devil fruit number scheme. The only thing that prevents his proper joining is Oda changing his mind.
2. Imu going after Vivi requires her involvement in the final arcs. Even if she weren't officially on the crew, she's still getting screen time.
3. Yamato is pretty much doing the Jinbe thing right now. Almost guaranteed Yamato will be there for the final wars.
4. I'm actually concerned about the numbers for the Red Hair Pirates and Blackbeard Pirates. Those core members are the only "constraint" I see on the actual strawhat crew size.
5. Due to the prophecy, I think we have to acknowledge, that the final leg of One Piece is going to have to take us from Raftel back to the Red Line, and then, we need the Fishman Island destruction, on top of the fights at the top of the world, essentially. There's more than enough time to get a rapid succession of 'crew members' to do the fights, but honestly, how much 'adventure' is left after Elbaf? I don't really think there is a lot.
6. In One Piece Green, we saw an original concept for the crew which showed 9 total members, Luffy included. Then we found out that Oda edited the image to hide the fact that there was a Jinbe proto-design in there, which he then later revealed. This updated image had 10 members. It's possible that the image will be updated again. It's possible that ten was the end. Maybe if one looks into the original roles, and keeps in mind the characters added once the series expanded in scope, they can guesstimate the final intended crew size.

To some degree, I don't see the point of arguing "crew members" for what will essentially be a final gauntlet once we get into the battle phase. And then, when you consider that the crew regularly has guests like Law/Momo/Kinnemon/Kanjuro, you could even have a situation where we enter the final phase with people who aren't crew members, that still get crew member-like panel time.
Distill it further, and the only distinction that "crew members" have over guests is that they will stick with the crew after the saga is over, but if the saga is over after the war, there is, essentially, no difference between the proper members and the guests, pragmatically.

For example. Vegapunk and Bonney could be with the strawhats from now until the end. Kinnemon and Momo were with us for over 100 chapters. They did plot-relevant things. Vegapunk and Bonney, as guests, could probably do the same.
Another way of thinking of it: If One Piece only has 200 chapters left, and Vegapunk and Bonney rode with the crew for 200 chapters, is there any practical difference between being a guest or a 'crew member?'

Now, in 2014, Oda said people would be joining the crew in rapid succession. That was the first time (I believe) he said something about future crew mates post the statement that the next crew member (Jinbe) was a former boss. I believe (more like hope with all my heart) he wasn't speaking of the grand fleet. If rapid succession is true, we have more than 1 person still joining the crew proper.

As for the appropriateness:
1. Yamato is appropriate
2. Vivi is appropriate (but she isn't sailing full time post final war.)
3. Kuma is appropriate

I think, to some degree, something worth asking is "Who is going to be in the final crew spread?"
That is really where the final "definitive" strawhat crew is going to showcased in any meaningful fashion.

Regarding hints, I guess Luffy just punches a wall.

Did you even read my post? I said I was done with this and I am. I also said why I enjoy debating so you can answer your own questions there bud :)

But I will address your final sentence,

And if Yamato joins the Strawhats, that's 3 women, it makes the chances of Vivi joining the crew close to 0.

Well not really 3 women since Yamato identifies as a man, and you said "Yamato literally wants to be Oden" so you gotta include the gender there.

And also, "It makes the chances of Vivi joining the crew close to 0". Yeah no shit lol, if anyone joins it makes the chances of anyone else joining literally 0.

Your questions have already been answered, I just found that last sentence nonsensical and funny haha.

About the lightning hint, too good to be true. Feels like Redon is baiting us into believing Enel get‘s his comeback.

My guess is either Nami lightning nukes someone with Zeus or Thor enters the stage.

Agreed! I really hope we get the weakling trio stepping up this arc, after they have taken the backseat for so long.

Sun god tries to capture them with a net

Nami uses Zeus to strike him, or Luffy plays with lightning again or there's a thunder god

Unlikely Enel returning but would be a mega surprise

Would mean we'd have more moon scenes again, which also sounds interesting.

Would be funny is Enel came back into the story knowing what he knows and then becomes the final Strawhat haha.

Just to destroy any theory anyone has 😂
You know I could picture him actually being dragged around like they did Caesar.
