Honestly, regardless of circumstances, the fact that Kizaru was shown on the ground and the Elders were shown up and facing off Luffy prob gives the indication that Admirals are less of a priority compared to the Elders now, and more so for Vice Admirals too.

"My Justice" is interesting and totally tracks for the one marine in the Monkey D. family. Kinda sad it was only mentioned now in the SBS, it's kinda rad and really connects him to his son and grandson.

I think it a missed opportunity. Oda could have mentioned it during Kuzon's (fight) or Coby's flashback.

Cross Guild gives bounties for entire ranks, with a few individual exceptions. So of course if you analyze case-per-case, it's not very reliable.

The Commander-in-Chief is not a Marine rank, but a rank with authority over all forces of the World Government.

Not sure about the point though. So we know Cross Guild bounties depend on Marines‘ ranks, so it‘s only logical for Akainu as the head of the Marines to have the highest CG bounty on his head. If Kuzan would have won the duel, he‘d been the one with the 5 billion bounty. I think we have to regard it differently. It‘s not about threat level. You get rewarded for damaging the Navy. The higher the rank of the marine you take out, the higher the bounty you get payed. Simple as that I think.

O well I see you already mentioned this.
My thoughts on the matter exactly!
But as I said I think the main idea of Cross Guild is to cause damage to the Marines.
But I gotta say I‘m impressed how much money CrossGuild is willing/ able to pay. Their business must be thriving.

Robin would make sense (it is her fruit "bloom bloom"), but Blackbeard getting one is really conspicuous.

This perspective on the spider lily isn't Japanese enough.
The red spider lily might be the single most popular flower in anime and manga, a lot of times because of its place on the Sanzu river, and its general link with death and corpses. Going beyond what was written here, the red spider lily is heavily linked to reincarnation or, in looser variations, transformation into another person/perspective.

In Kimetsu--all over the place in a heavily Buddhist series.
In Tokyo Ghoul--linked to Kaneki's death of self and rebirth as white hair kaneki.
In Gundam IBO, those kids are talking about reincarnation all of the time.
Digimon Survive and all of its Spider Lilies? Oh boy, you knew that was going to be miserable.

I would actually wager that the majority of times a red spider lily appears in anime, there is some kind of undercurrent of reincarnation or transformation going on.

Blackbeard getting this flower, out of all of them, might be pointing to a critical character feature, maybe linked with Rocks.

In a culture where the flower has been used to express so many metaphors, and where it has so much significance in their history, we cannot just settle on the overview of the flower.

Not really? Robin's whole existence shows that it kinda sucks (and Law's for that matter). They simultaneously murder every baby they find that may have been Roger's, yet pass over the suspiciously pregnant woman whom they presumably also don't know was a D. Speaking of "D", it's not just bad intel, it's straight up ineptness. Luffy went around screaming his full name, his devil fruit power, and his goal arc after arc and was treated with kid gloves by the WG until the very last second before G5. Issho's backstory here sorta reinforces all of this.

In all likelihood, my best guess is that the people who were in charge of recruiting Issho knew about his past, but knew the Marines were desperate for manpower with the absence of two admiral positions.
