By this point it's really difficult to read OP weekly while keeping all those threads in mind and drawing mental charts (it's not only OP problem though). However, it reads way better when you read entire arc - which I do

I only caught up to One Piece last year and boy is this true. My first weekly chapter was the first Elbaf one and this arc has been less impactful than the ones I read all the way through. I might stop reading until the more interesting stuff happens lol.

From experience, I can assure you reading OP and HxH on big volume length chunks is a far more enriching experience than a week to week experience unless you're the type of person to reread a chapter multiple times and hyper analyze it.

My thoughts about the issue
Astro: I wanted more mature approach, but not that way, lol. Why it's so kinky out of nowhere? Jokes aside, I am a bit disappointed that there isn't even one female fighter at the tournament, but well... It also felt somehow rushed, like we are already in the first battle. I hope it won't get resolved during first few pages of the next one.
Ichi: Ichi is outright crazy and I somehow dig it. Usually, protagonists are more grounded, while we get some insane sidecharacters. Desscarass is MVP, looking forward to her fight.
Nue: We got some info on our villains' side and apparently all the parties are going to the same place. And my, Fujino family definitely has a good share of skeletons in the closet. I wonder how it will end, but there could be possibly a crushing defeat for exorcists this time.
Kill Blue: It was a sweet chapter. For some reason, I can't shake the feeling that Inukai might turn out to be a spy or traitor. I blame Kindergarten wars for that.
Syd Craft: Me at the beginning of the chapter: there's no way Elio misses it. Next page: the confirmation. I wonder if Mystcat also comes. The first bomber is caught too fast, hopefully, the second will last more than a chapter. Though it's still early on, so we won't get longer arc most likely.
Kiyoshi: And so the training arc ends. It raised an interesting point about the true weakness of overpowered characters - about not getting enough challenges.
Akanebanashi: The encounter between Akane and Issho gave me chills. Not sure how to feel about the timeskip though as I hoped to see more of Akane's time with Issho, but it's still to early to judge. Really strong chapter still.
Shinobi: We have the punch! Jokes aside, it seems that we will get some powers with that 'kekai' mentioned (even though it's not explained what is it)
Yozakura: That was such a heartwarming closure. We got a sweet flashback, a resolution between Kyoichiro and Mutsumi, and the kiss. Though both Kyo and Taiyo's reaction is odd - like Taiyo and Mutsumi went way beyond kiss before, what is the big deal? Made me laugh a lot. But what do you mean it's not a final chapter? Would be the perfect finale and I genuinely have no idea what else to cover here.
Kagurabachi: Such a fantastic chapter! The highlight of the week for me, for sure, it just hit all the right notes for me, be it action, characters or the message. Hopefully, Masumi will stick around for more. And finally someone tries to get Chihiro out of the self-destructive path. I hope for a lot of character development incoming.
Sakamoto: I was really looking forward to this flashback and so far I'm not disappointed. But hopefully, it won't get dragged too much. Laughed hard at Shin getting knocked out from reading Sakamoto's thought of killing him.
One piece: a peaceful chapter with some lore drops but there's already some chaos stirring at the background. I wonder if Elbaf will end as a full saga or just a transitional point. Personally lean to the first option.

All in all, a good issue. Liked KGB, Akane, Yozakura, Sakamoto and Shinobi the most

Great issue. Lots of series best IMO for the newer series a well as one of the veterans as well. Too bad RuriDragon isn't out until Sunday as normal but I'll add it in where it places. Hopefully someone translated the Chojo/Kochikame chapter at least to piece together the references in the actual chapter we got.

Ok, let me gush about my usual faves which all had excellent chapters. I read it in TOC order so I fully thought Kagurabachi would be the top of the week. Probably the most fun chapter of the series so far, the motorbike scenes were top notch, totally cinematic, and the action choreography was very much giving Sakamoto Days (but surpassing it this once). Great showcase of this trio of characters that hopefully won't get killed off like most until now. But when I read Akane-banashi I lowkey lost my mind. Did not expect we'd get a Haikyuu!! Brasil-esque double spread time skip reveal at the end of the chapter. This feels like the perfect stopping point for a second season (of two cours), with the first season (also two cours) ending on on chapter 73 when Akane lost the big tournament. Akane/Issho have my favourite dynamic in the series so what we got here was top notch stuff. Can't wait to see what the 22/23(?) year old Akane we have now will be like. Another left turn for the series that I looooooove.

Ichi the Witch had my favourite chapter so far too, have to give it that top three spot for the stellar action and character moments from Ichi and Desscaras who I hope gets a good chance to show off next week. This current arc is fire, will be insane if the TOC rankings don't jump back up when these come more into play. One Piece had a nice mix of low-key Straw Hat moments while continuing this storyline brewing underneath. Oda is taking his sweet time however, this arc might go on for a good while. And then Sakamoto Days had a nice chapter for its lead colour page, hopefully we stick in this flashback long enough to fill in the gaps. Basically, all my faves were on their A game this week, love that.

Mission: Yozakura Family and Shinobi Undercover are two other series that had my favourite chapters yet. Shinobi had the coolest action sequences so far but I still dislike Santa's dead eyed expression he gives most of his characters - really robs them of varied emotions. As for MYF, Kyoichiro remains my least favourite character of the series thanks to the insufferable older brother trope he embodies in almost every interaction we're given with him, but for all his awful moments throughout the series (and there are dozens and dozens) that scene at the window was probably the peak of the series, at least for me - genuinely moving stuff. And the usual comedy worked really well too in the build up and reaction to that climactic page. I felt the wrap-up to the final battle was a little too easy and not as exciting as it could have been but the series is getting a really good send-up off in these epilogue chapter. Looks like next week will be the last, which means Undead Unluck probably has another two more (and Hakutaku three). New serialisation in issue #9 or #10?

Actually, Syd Craft: Love is a Mystery probably had its best too (though 7 chapters aren't that much to compare); was quite funny and I'm glad we're getting more of an overarching plot/arc developing now. Astro Royale was chaotically paced but still fun - like I said last week I don't think it bodes well for how the series is performing as this all very sudden and like Wakui is throwing everything he can until something sticks. We're rocketing through the tournament in its initial stages at least. I'm still not sold on Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi at all, think it ruins all the serious moments by going through them too fast and undercuts with the comedy in the wrong places. This training arc was occasionally cute but I think the act telegraphing of Kiyoshi's improvements were pretty poor.

On another note, the three extra chapters of High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku finally got an official release and they all really helped conclude the series in a satisfying way - couldn't ask for anything more out volume extras (except that it took so long to get them).

That is if the anime is successful, after all Netflix will release all the episodes of Sakamoto Day at once.

This isn't true. Sakamoto Days is being released weekly in Japan on TV as normal and the Netflix releases are timed weekly as well, like it is with Blue Box currently. Only exception here is we're getting the first two episodes together in the first week.

I'm hoping we get a more traditional spokon, and an adventure battle manga. I've also been rereading Naruto Part 1 and it's got me itching for a battle manga focused on kids that mostly takes itself seriously.
