Definitely wouldn't be surprising if BB is Rock's son. The fact that WB raised BB also is in line with how Oda handled Ace being "adopted" by WB. Even if not great friends I think WB had a respect for both Rocks and Roger and likely saw potential in them both. Kind of a nice parallel when you think about it since it turned into fratricide despite WB's efforts to raise the sons of rivals together.

I don't really expect this flashback to include God Valley scenes... perhaps a little bit just to leave us on a cliffhanger or something, but Rayleigh or Gaban could probably only give us the perspective of Rocks being an enemy and the god valley incident stuff, while Elbaf and Loki give us an introduction on the character and a bit of his own lore and connections. If he visited Elbaf when Loki was a kid, he must've known Harald and have ties with the Elbaf lore.

I'm just happy to get more info on the guy... Oda really scrambled things with the clones and science stuff, so a bit more clarity on who's who in the grand scheme of things/harley prophecy type of stuff is hype.

Edit: Oh, and there's also Oden who kept being mentioned by his retainers and his main flashback ended up being an introduction to the 2nd or 3rd Wano arc, with no character narrating it (if I'm remembering correctly)

I recall that Oden’s face was shown until the Scabbards were in the middle of the ocean just before the Wano battle started.

So Rocks’ face being fully revealed would depend on how relevant he is to Harald and Loki’s flashback I’d say.

Well, it could contextualize what the gorosei meant about BB's lineage and provide more clues about BB's strange physiology. Xebec's goal might even hint at him having some rather deep knowledge of the world government and it's history... Which would make sense if he belongs to some lineage with some inherited will. While the story features strong connections between people outside and beyond bloodlines it's undeniable at this point that bloodlines are crucually important to the plot.

Well, this much hype warrants a face reveal, at least, but being underwhelmed by these hints is something we've all experienced quite frequently.

Their connection is pretty much a given considering "Xebec's Saber", but the twist itself can come in many ways... Blackbeard's special body and lineage is probably the thing that makes this interesting.

I'm totally expecting a race reveal coming up.

i'm so tired of these reveals just proving over and over how utterly contradictory the WG is with handling "leaks". They'll go around murdering a hundred babies on the very off chance Roger might've squirted one out, but people like Blackbeard- who apparently LOOKS LIKE ROCKS- and is a constant thorn in their side, just acts with impunity on the world stage over and over. And I get it- part of Blackbeard's whole schtick was about purposefully living in Whitebeard's shadow to avoid suspicion. But once he submitted a request to become a Warlord, EVERY alarm bell should've been ringing.

It's like how Luffy wasn't taken seriously by the WG at all for years, despite being a D. who had eaten the Nika fruit and taken the survivor of Ohara while formally declaring war on them. Ridiculous.

Hmm, ok, so rocks is a former king and BB is presumably his son. We know from the history of OP that when tentyubito ascended to Mary Geoise they left behind newly appointed kings to take their places. So Kings who took the place of ascended tenrubito are not people you'd expect to display the D initial. I suppose Lily taking the initial could mean something like at first the D being something people freely decided to add to their names as a symbol to their opposition to the world government and Imu... So maybe this was something rocks adopted recently.

I suppose we can only wonder what rock's kingdom was though it's impossible to tell if this would be important nowadays.

With Rocks not being revealed as Blackbeard's father, that's prob enough to have his face revealed now.

You inverted the news: BB is surely his son, but we don't know for sure he was a king, only that was at a reverie: he could be a bodyguard of another king or something.
Heck, for all we know he could even be a marine guarding the royals (not likely at all, but...)

Ah, fair point. There's other ways to attend reverie of course but by far the most relevant one is to attend as king. Add to that, being there as a king brings a number of plot points full circle. Like Harald meeting him or BB's lineage being special.

Well with Xebec being more tied to Elbaph and Teach being his son I wonder if this is to help go down the "Dark Nika" path we can clearly see the giants picking and choosing Light Nika vs Dark Nika. Unless of course demonicfication turns them without a choice.
