Well, mate, it's been a fun one. It was pretty tough to design and run the game solo between deadlines. I mean, I'm used to hosting in busy periods, but to really have to get work done and go from appointment to appointment, it's rough. Nonetheless, I had a lot of fun reading this game.

Mafia played a strong game. They even did some 5D mindfuck plays totally intentionally. Town I don't think had the wrong attitude, but did have trouble getting their ducks in a row. I'll share some post-game thoughts later, taking my own outback rat (my cute Copana) to the vet for the first time in a bit.

A long time ago, Sam and I waged war against one another. A drawn-out contest with much on the line. Good taste, touching grass and my sanity were all at stake. That day, I lost it all. You see, Sam was praising this god-awful character whose whole "carefree wanderer with no responsibilities" persona essentially translated to "no job stability with the financial planning abilities of a potato". A character who could wander all of creation and visit every place under the Sun and still act like someone who learned their social skills from a long-covid-ridden rock. Whose Japanese Excalibur ability involved jiggling the boobas twice and solving a plot problem.

It was a single vote that decided the whole thing. Evil was guilt-tripped into leaving the Rin clan and did me worse than Judas and Brutus did their patrons. I have not forgotten the betrayal. This particular role I designed to be as flimsy as Sam's campaign and Evil's resolve that day. I lost to the boobs-on-a-stick deity of couch surfing because Sam tugged a couple of heartstrings. Fuck me.

Honestly, the whole ordeal still ticks me off. Wistfully, I bid my clan members adieu and promised them one day, we'd get even. That day isn't today because this is not nearly enough.

Out here in the outback, nothing is certain except that something with teeth and claws is always watching ya. Small critters hiding in the dark, big critters pretend they're small critters hiding in the dark and maybe half the things you think you killed just get back and casually get on with their smoko'. This evil land doesn't care about metaphysics. Hell, it barely cares about physics. Aigo..

This particular specimen of cunt was a Quack Doc, one of those silly little social creatures that tries to keep the herd together by throwing themselves at danger and hoping the pack thins a little slower. Take one out, and the rest still stumble forward. Wounded, sure, but not quite shattered yet. Vulnerable things, but the stubborn sort in a way that only makes sense when you figure everything else is worse.

Maybe in another game, this animal can try again and survive a bit longer than usual. But out here in the down under, the domain of dust, heat, darkness and cunts, baby Marm has been claimed by the outback's near and dear hobby: killing things suddenly.

Marm the Wombat

The intestines of the Wombat have a variable elasticity to them; in some places, they stretch, in others, they are rigid. The result is that the Wombat poops perfect cubes that they stack like Lego bricks to mark their territory.

Marm was decently red for me so this is eye opening. I get that they'd hunt active roles but I figured the kill would be woj or Bran.
