WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP THREAD RULES​

#5. Don't post news about series from other magazine or publishers in the WSJ thread, post in the series own thread, but it's fine if you're mentioning other series or magazine to express a opinion or reflection about Shonen Jump.
#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

There is a magazine break in August and even then I am feeling 20 chapters is possible this tine especially since there are 20 issues left in the year.

Hokazono will definitely return before the summer break.

Do you think Jump will do a group cover without Chihiro?

Don't care for Bleach. Just like Naruto, this did not need a sequel manga.

HxH: which has chapters that are already completed but not yet published, is expected to end sometime between early and mid-September.
Kagurabachi: will return in August (it’s not yet known whether at the beginning or end of the month)
Bleach: will (probably) return in September (mid-September? Along with the new batch? Who knows)

There’s a SLIGHT chance that Kagurabachi, Bleach, and HxH (+ One Piece) will be published simultaneously for a few issues of Weekly Shonen Jump.
I can already picture Saito rubbing his hands.

Don't care for Bleach. Just like Naruto, this did not need a sequel manga. Even JJK too. Should have been serialised in jump plus instead of wasting a slot in the main magazine.

I pray Gotouge and Horikoshi aren't so creatively bankrupt to be making KNY2 and MHA2.

What do you mean you don't want part 2 of manga that already ended and wrapped their stories? Everyone must want that WSJ be only only Part X of Series Y. (They should have serialized continuations on Jump Square tbh)

Even if Togashi has more than 10 chapters ready to go I don't think he (and Shueisha) will publish all of them at once

They may publish 10 every year instead of 18 to 24 months

There is no sequel to Bleach

At this point half of me wants Bleach Hell arc to be serialised because it's my favourite manga of all time, and the other half of me just wants to see you admit that it is in fact happening after years of playing ignorant on it not coming back in some form.

Anyway, more of the usual trustworthy leakers confirming details (such as it being weekly):



If this is how it plays out then my prediction would be:

• Hima-Ten! ends next week #31, same week that Hunter x Hunter resumes, effectively evening out the number of serialisations.
• Bleach comes back #36/37, same issue it started both the original series 25 years ago and the Hell one-shot five years.
• Both Blue Box (issue #35, chapter 252~ to fill up exactly 28 volumes) Sakamoto Days (issue #36/37, 270~ chapters) end around this time as well. If Kinato's Magic also ends here then we'll probably get another serialisation at the same time.

On the topic of returning series I wouldn’t be surprised if they had more planned for To Love-Ru beyond the upcoming jump giga one shot, they made it pretty clear that Darkness was not where they wanted to end it and it doesn’t seem like Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki are up to much else right now. I doubt it would ever return to Weekly Shonen Jump though

Who knows after two more sequels they may make enough progress for an actual ending

Tbf I feel like Bleach has more of a reason for a sequel series than Naruto did. Bleach at least had Hell set up since early doors, but just didn't explore it. Not to mention all the lore expansions revealed in the novels to do with The Old World, the Original Sin, the Soul King, the proxy war Ichibe seems to be having with the Soul Society (I appreciate a lot of Bleach fans didn't read the novels though, so to them it's not too big of a deal and all of this doesn't mean anything, though they've been weaving some of this lore into the TYBW anime). And even Burn the Witch lore being explored more as well, whether through its own series or Bleach (it was said Ichigo worked as a translator in England at the end of the series, so maybe he's visited West Soul Society, for example).

Idk, obviously I'm a big Bleach fan so that plays into it, but when Naruto ended and a sequel was announced I kinda felt "ehh, not needed, I don't really care about Boruto and I feel like I got all I needed from the Otsutsuki in the manga and in the Last movie and Boruto movie" whereas for Bleach my response is more so "I do kinda wanna see what Kubo has in mind for Hell and expanding on it and the ideas from the novels and/or Burn the Witch" tbh. I'm cautiously optimistic for it, whereas I didn't care for Boruto (the series) at all.

You have to accept the fact that right now (with a few exceptions), Weekly Shonen Jump sells thanks to returning series, not rookie (only Hokazono, Usui, and a few others can claim to have been running for more than two years with their debut series in the last years)

It will hype the magazine for sure, but I don't think the sales number will increase or anything like that. I think they are just pushing their reality of not finding good and stablished series. It will eventually come back to them in the future. To me, either WSJ will become a husk full of re-heated past series or die down of no good new series.

Never seen a bigger hack than saito to constantly rely on veterans to achieve success. Only 2 years into his EIC tenure, and he already brought back Gege, Kubo, Sorachi. Even poaching Nishi off Champion.

At the rate he's going, all the biggest authors from the 2000 - 2020 JUMP will fill up all the lineup within the next year. Maybe even Kaneshiro (Blue Lock) somehow end up here to write a spokon for JUMP.

It's already bad enough he protects undeserving series like Kiyoshi and Roboco, now the old guards are taking up more space.

Reminder that Hertz remains his only actual success and UD, if he's not @#%^ enough to axe it.

I don’t think you could really blame Bleach’s return on Saito or the current state of the magazine this was teased 5 years ago well before he was EiC and probably would have happened sooner if not for the TYBW anime
