^ i agree about ben being a badass. what the hell did he do to summon/control the smoke monster anyway? he's certainly a "love to hate him" type of character, although it was nice to see his genuine grief over the loss of alex. he's very complex man for sure.

the whole concept of the island as a prize in some sort of game is really interesting. what are these rules? how did the game come about? who does the island "really" belong to? why can't ben kill widmore? ack, more and more questions!

one more thing i thought was interesting was something hurley said while they were playing risk. he said something to the effect of "australia is the key to everything." do you think there's something to that in regards to the bigger story? it just kind of made me go hmm.......

anyway, awesome episode

He probably pressed a switch or something to open a container or whatever and let the smoke out, dont know really. But when he entered the secret room, there was a bright yellow light and when he came out he's clothes were all stained with black tar. :\

What is the age for Ben and Charles? Is Charles older, or Ben? I think Charles is, and if he is then the Island originally is his. Then Ben's. Charles did say that Ben stole the island or whatever it was along those lines..

YESSS. I was going to bring that up myself. Since a lot of flashbacks have taken place in Australia, and the fact that Ocean 815 took off from Australia leads me to believe that that statement by Hurley is much more poignant than we may have though...

Agreed, that I think this episode was one of the best this season. This season has just been amazing.

YESSS. I was going to bring that up myself. Since a lot of flashbacks have taken place in Australia, and the fact that Ocean 815 took off from Australia leads me to believe that that statement by Hurley is much more poignant than we may have though...

Agreed, that I think this episode was one of the best this season. This season has just been amazing.

Agreed this season has been fantastic. I like how were getting to see a more human side to Ben now as well. At first he was quite creepy and nobody had really gotten inside his head but with all this he's becoming more and more like the survivors.

Yeah, he really seems to be some sort of crusader, who's allegiance is obviously ambiguous. He's clearly an egomaniac, but he knows the Island is very important.

My question now is, what does Charles Widmore mean when he says "The Island was his in the first place"? Did he fund the Dharma Initiative?

I think Ben lied to Sayid about how he got to the desert etc. If you see him at the Sahara Desert, when he wakes up he seems to breath out cold air and is wearing a jacket. On the Island it wasn't cold and Ben said that he landed on Figi, which isnt a cold island either. Did he freeze himself or something? ;\ The way he was on the floor, it looked like he was asleep and just appeared at the desert because I dont see a parachute or anything near him.

I also wanna know why he asked what date it was. Could the time/Island thing be real? :\

I think it may have something to do with Daniel Faraday. That could explain why he asked about the date. He was possibly using some sort of thing Daniel came up with, and wanted to make sure he only traveled space, and not time.

But if he was able to get on and off the Island, why didn't he just use a normal boat?

Damn, the Island just keeps getting more compliacted. Who made this Island the way it is? lol Jacob?

Yeah kinda, I really didnt expect Bens daughter to die but heck...even with all the new questions one of the best eps for me. Also season 4 is waaaay better than season 3 so far...

Totally agree.. I had never thought that season 4 was going to be this good because, well it started after 60 episodes, so I had thought they were running out of ideas. Never knew they could introduce more characters from a show which is about people trapped on a Island

Wonder what Season 5 is going to be like. :3 Wonder what the last episode of this season is...:S

Totally agree.. I had never thought that season 4 was going to be this good because, well it started after 60 episodes, so I had thought they were running out of ideas. Never knew they could introduce more characters from a show which is about people trapped on a Island

Thats why they have so many survivors of the crash though. They don't need much to bring a new character forth.

All the characters are connected in a way. Thats what makes it interesting..anyway I heard that the last 3 episodes " There's no place like home" those 3 episodes are about the survivors meeting the freighter people. Oooo someone is going to die....:\

Surprised nobodies said anything about the last ep. Was an okay ep seemed to really be there to have some paving in the series as well as character development more than anything else.

I have a feeling it does, because Jack's flashforward from last season is when he's fully messed-up, he's drinking loads, and overdosing on those tablets. I think this episode's flashforward showed how he ended up in that state.

the most important thing with this episode was jack saying:
sawyer chose to stay behind on the island.

so im guessing that at the end of this season the oceanic 6 will get off the island. next season will be about those that stayed.
