All Purpose Sig Contest Discussion Thread 2011

Sorry for not coming online sooner. I'm currently without electrical power from Hurricane Irene. I saved up some charge on my laptop to come online make the usual transitions for the Sig Contest (hooray for dial-up! ), but since Gintara was having some submission issues, the submission thread for the sand theme will be open until tomorrow so that she can submit. Hopefully I will have some power by then and will create the voting thread.

Anyway, moving forward, the new contest is up, and the theme is Bleach (as in the manga/anime series and not the detergent ). Love it or hate it, lasting ten years is a big accomplishment worthy of a little recognition. You can submit anything related to the series or its mangaka, Kubo Tite. If you are unfamiliar with the series, check out our forum on the manga for some ideas and just to share your thoughts about the series. I know I love this series and am quite glad to see its continued success.

Finally submitted my entry! Thanks Tsuki once again for helping me out. I literally facepalmed myself when I clicked the wrong file. Hope you're doing okay there, Tsuki, btw.

Bleach...hmmm. I'm currently in a Bleach mode (I just finished watching the fourth movie lol) these past few weeks. There's too many characters to choose from. Guess I'll start off with Ichigo. Then again, I don't think I made a Rukia based sig yet. Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. xD

However, the poster never made an entry in the submission thread. So it was not noticed until now.

Giving the benefit of doubt to the poster, I've allowed his entry to be added in the voting since his submission was made on Aug. 15.

Submitted my Bleach sig. First time trying to make an animated sig... not great, but I think I like the outcome. Chose Byakuya because he's my favourite character after Kenpachi. Anyway, good luck to you all

I don't really like Bleach, so I wasn't intially going to enter. But then I decided to make a request sig for someone who wanted a Bleach themed sig. So I got something started and now I just need to add the finishing touches before the deadline.^^ Hopefully I will get some free time tomorrow.

"Sasori of the Red Sand" blends together both a photo of a real desert and a drawn anime character flawlessly. Leaving the piece looking like everything belongs together.
Looking at the fractal used in this work, Debaron8 did a brilliant job in tweaking it just right and making it appear as sand. Add in the lighting that is cascading across the rolls of sand, then bathing on Sasori and you have a wonderful, eye-catching signature that ties together a lot of important elements!

Congrats to Debaron8 for wining the sands theme. Nice work on the sig, I liked it as well.

I cant match coffees eloquence or knowledge when it comes to making signatures, which was nicely done by the way.
