I dont agree with you here.
This is not about the democratic party anymore.
The people who woulda voted dems but thought clinton will win either way and didnt like her were still shocked by president trump.
In the next election i rather see negative effects for the reps than for the dems.
I mean, come on, the reps dishing out trump and showing they got no spine was at least as disillusioning as anything the dems did.
It is about the democratic party, and it will continue to be about them until they get their heads out of their asses and step out of their bubbles. They didn't just lose because Trump was appealing, they lost because Hillary was not appealing and neither was the party.

They didn't like her, which is why they didn't vote. Hillary did not inspire a lot of people to vote; if anything, Trump made go out and vote, whether for him or against him. Seems this election hasn't taught you anything if you think Trump's tenure will have negative repercussions for the republicans. Numerous republicans did not like or want Trump, but they still voted for him despite going against everything he said, all because he was a republican and Hillary was a bad choice. Republican voters voted Trump because he's a republican and he appealed to them, even to the point of caring about the little guys. Hillary did not do that, and neither did democrats. If anything, the democrats fucked over the little guys by forcing a win for Hillary in the primaries over Bernie.

You know what i find strange?
How much an issue people make of the recount.
I mean, trump could legitimately be happy about it if he thought he definitely won the states because the opponents of him will verify that he is the true winner.
Might be something to find after all.

Seems like a decent choice. Definitely someone the rightwingers will seek to character assassinate as a muslim, tho.

Well, yeah. It also didn't help when he praised the Nation of Islam, but he at least did admit it was a mistake on his part.
Outside of this whole "Sharia Law" card people will throw in, I don't see him being taken out that easily. I mean, I like it how he didn't said the faults were Hillary and the Democrats for the cause of losing this election, but for the fact that he wants to see what exactly went wrong to find the solution for it.
Hopefully, he, along with the Democrats, would realize that one of their horrible mess is the Super Delegate system. I personally believe that it only helps shitty candidates become the victor (although, I'm sure even without them, Sanders would've still lost), on top of how easily they can be corrupted.
At least on the Republican side, they didn't want to backstab the people's choice.

Not a good choice and not at a good time, Alan Dershowitz wrote a interesting article about it. Obviously, you can't know what's in a person's heart, and from my recollection of appearances he's made in the media, I don't really have too many negative feelings about him. But, I just don't see it as choice resulting in the DNC being more successful in two years.

Hmm... I suppose that makes him a double-edge sword: it could either work well for the Democrats IF he does appeal to Americans, or it could end up in another collapse of the Party again, resulting in another 4 years of Trump.
Hope Sanders did made the right call to endorse him.

They actually did, but Trump got free press and was gaining popularity, which is why no one can say the betrayal killed Trump the way it beat Bernie.

So, Breitbart readers are boycotting Kellogg's for pulling their ads from Breitbart "News," which is commendable on Kellogg's behalf. Good that they're not having anything to do with fake news site. If the readers are boycotting the way Trump supporters are boycotting Starbucks, then Kellogg's should see increased revenues.

Well, yeah, but they decided to go with it and let Trump go on a rampage. I mean, if they did pulled a stunt where they were playing favorites (like they wanted someone like Ted Cruz or Jeb Bush as nominee), then there would've been a very good chance that the GOP would lose a ton of supporters just as the Democrats lost almost 10 million voters.

I'm sure they'll mean "#DumpKelloggs" as in, no longer buying their products. Hell, this piece of shit guy known as "Paul Watson", an editor for Infowars, stated that he never ate "garbage" [Kelloggs] in decades.
But seriously, Breitbart is a shit news station that shouldn't even exist. Some of their *assumed* many Articles are super fucked up to the point that I have high doubts to even call it "Conservative", because I sure as shit do know no such being as fucked up as they are.

But at the end of the day: Trumptards are no better than the "Left", because they whine about things they don't want to hear.

I highly doubt they'd have lost that many support. Republicans seem to be more sheep than anything; they'll continue supporting the party no matter what, until the party changes its views or ideals. And I guess the republicans had no choice but to hope Trump destroyed himself and that the other candidate/s could work together to beat Trump.

They talked about boycotting Starbucks, but all that meant was buying a cup and forcing them to say Trump out loud, which still puts money in the company's hands. Trump supporters are honestly idiots.

Wut? That's the right as well.

I have high doubts about that. After all, I'm sure there are Republicans out there who left the Party because of Trump; those who supported Trump because "Republican" (despite how he holds none of their values at all) are, unfortunately, sheeps.

The whole "boycotting Starbucks" isn't even a boycott, because they're not hurting them at all. Unless those Trumptards meets some Starbucks workers who're a bit sensitive, I'm sure they don't give a shit. If it means taking money out of their wallets, then Starbucks will make a fortune.

Of course the Right also whines, they all whine over one thing or another (One gets offended over a Flag, the other gets offended over a Red and Green cup, and the last gets offended when people badmouths their Messiah).

How any republicans left the party? We have droves of democrats who left the party, at least with Hillary running. I'm sure not many republicans left the party, and we have many politicians not liking anything about Trump but still voting for him.

It's not a boycott at all, Trump supporters think it is because they're dumb and don't know what the definition of boycott is. Even if Starbucks employees do give a shit, they won't make as much of an issue as Trump supporters would.

Yeah and the right whine about safe spaces and political correctness when they need safe spaces and believe in political correctness as well. The right want to strip people of freedom while the left prefer to strip freedom of speech.

This was an interesting read. Across the board it was education that seemed to make a difference on whether people voted for trump. It's not just being a formerly middle class guy who is not satisfied with the system.... Gotta say though, not entirely sure of what to make of this case.

Another fun bit for anyone who cares to look at data. To me that seems like a fairly larger error than other articles in the site would suggest though. Perhaps when looking at things broadly it accounts for a 2% error in the polls but to me that seems that the majority of the polls did underestimate trump with relatively big margins. Only 10-11 states did not underestimate the support trump had towards the end and those were states hillary won anyways. Of course, the bit about not asking enough uneducated people about their opinion would explain all of this but still, to me this seems like a huge difference. Pollers are going to have to up their game next time around to have more inclusive (and more relevant) polls. Heck, the bad polling could easily be said to have had an effect on the election considering it gave hillary the idea that she had a huge advantage when in fact she did not have it.The polls did suggest the race had high uncertainty and that the race was going to be close in general but it was still simply off as to who had the advantage.

One thing I don't quite get though, is why trump thought he had pensilvania in the bad. To the best of my knowledge most of the pre election information suggested trumo was going to loose that state.... "Lucky guess" is not really an option I am comfortable here....

This is why higher minimum wage is unnecessary. The future of automatons at retail are now here.

Most likely because Trump knew or was aware that not all of his supporters came out; many were hiding for one reason or another.

blaming people who want higher minimum wage to make ends meet is beyond stupid. IT was gonna happen either way because companies don't give a shit about people, they care about profits.

My question is literally how he new that though. I am not so sure you are adding anything here.

I didn't know Machines could make my burgers.
In the end this is a bit of a non issue. Automation is a fact of life and it will continue to spread. The absolute worst case scenario here is wages accelerating this trend for some jobs but the long term effect should be more or less the same. And I am pretty sure the process to make burgers can (and will) be automated eventually. Ensuring that jobs that remain pay well should be more important in that regard (IMHO).

Um, you do realize he has a team of people who research and talk to others, and then gets back to him with information, right? Maybe they knew or talked to some supporters and let him know.

Or Trump is just an egotistical piece of shit

Even you hadn't made that up right now, it still does not answer my question. At worst it would change to "well, how did they know?" (add infinitum until they run out of people to ask that and get to the source I guess). Talking to some supporters wouldn't necessarily give him that information either. At least not in a way which would be statistically relevant. It's not like he michael moored his way across trump country to figure this out specifically (as far as I know, feel free to prove me wrong).

It could very well be dumb luck.... I am just not comfortable with that scenario.

Unfortunately, you're correct. Structural Unemployment will be inevitable with the rise of Automation. Only solution to solve this is to train people to become high skilled labor, but because education is super expensive...
