Isn't that simply anti immigration speech? Rubio did not say anything that was in any form or context new or significantly relevant there...
I don't even know if it's that. Rubio has came out against what Trump was proposing. Rubio is literally saying that if he's president he'll uphold the status quo...Isn't that simply anti immigration speech? There are ignoramuses in both parties, cmon...Oftentimes, when I see republicans address issues, I wonder if they're really ignorant or if they're being ignorant to appeal to their demographics, who are mainly ignorant. The stuff I read about gun control, Obama, Affordable Care Act, and Net Neutrality, to name a few, make me more sure of this.
I think its just what appeals to voters, like I said a week ago no one really cares for net neutrality and gun control isnt as important as some people make it. If it were numerous gun measures would have been passed into legislation but they havent, and since this is dictated by voters, no one really cares. ACA is problematical because it raised the cost of healthcare for hardworking Americans like me, why should I pay more for healthcare when I didnt vote for a candidate to do this, nor support the idea of a healthcare exchange? I had to fork over more of my hard earned money YOY. Very unfair.Oftentimes, when I see republicans address issues, I wonder if they're really ignorant or if they're being ignorant to appeal to their demographics, who are mainly ignorant. There are, but republicans are the worst. I haven't seen democrats try to incite fear for votes, like stating allowing refugees to come in will equal terrorism or stating Obama did nearly irreparable damage and voting for the democratic candidate will try to fix that. There are ignoramuses in both parties, cmon...
You are wrong though, a lot of people care about net neutrality. Gun control is also pretty important, but given that most politicians have gun fetishes and are probably being paid by weapons manufacturers, they wouldn't bother to pass gun measures. And I'm pretty sure voters care about this as well. I have seen tons of people mention gun control laws and net neutrality, and how many of them were disgusted with Cruz supporting net neutrality.I think its just what appeals to voters, like I said a week ago no one really cares for net neutrality and gun control isnt as important as some people make it. To be fair "upholding status quo" is more or less one of the major implications of conservative thought if not it's actual definition (perhaps that depends on the context though).I don't even know if it's that. Nah, democrats use more or less the same fear tactics are republicans or rubio, what changes is the object of the fear at best. Republicans fearmonger on immigrants, terrorists, obamacare and so on... Democrats fearmonger on republicans becoming potus and getting rid of absolutely everything obama has done. There are, but republicans are the worst. I haven't seen democrats try to incite fear for votes, like stating allowing refugees to come in will equal terrorism or stating Obama did nearly irreparable damage and voting for the democratic candidate will try to fix that.
But you arent giving money to defense and military spending. No where on my paycheck do I see defense spending or military, instead i see [health surance] and the cost I pay and then the 90% cost that my employer pays. Instead of paying a few dollars a paycheck for healthcare, I know have to pay like 15 or so dollars each paycheck for it thanks to obamacare. That is just plain offensive and unfair. There were other ways to do healthcare like go to the pharm companies if he was so interested in healthcare costs. There are, but republicans are the worst. It lowered the cost of healthcare for other Americans who couldn't afford insurance. This is also my thought about defense - why should I pay for defense and warfare when I don't support the idea of doing so, and when the industry gets so much money anyway? I don't want to give away my hard earned money to an overspent industry that seems to charge a lot for little results. I don't see any benefit from this, and spending billions on warfare and industry hasn't stopped would-be terrorists on our soil, nor has it prevented Iran from taking hostages. It's the authority in the US that stopped potential acts of terrorism from happening, except for terrorism committed by white people like Roof and the gurudwaras shooters, to name a few. Taking away half the budget we use for warfare and defense and putting it towards healthcare is much better.

Also tonight is the Democrat debate [final] before the primary.

That is not actually true. If you are paying taxes in any form then your money is specifically going towards military spending. It just doesn't have a "military tax" tag on it. Everything the government does comes from either tax payer money. But you arent giving money to defense and military spending. If it all came from tax payer money then we wouldn't be in debt, the country is borrowing money from somewhere. And the country brings in in non individual tax income. To be fair:
1.- Not caring about net neutrality does not mean it is not a big issue. It's the internet, it's a major part of everyone's lives.
2.- As far as I can tell, most people do support gun measures. This is a case of the republican party acting in favor of the NRA rather than the actual interests of its own voters.
3.- As far as I can tell, people did vote for obama to change healthcare. Didn't he offer changes when he first ran or during his second run? Maybe not you specifically but people did vote for that.

That's my point! He's grandstanding like he's saying something revolutionary and contra to what the Obama administration does, but it's literally what Bush established the Department of Homeland Security for.To be fair "upholding status quo" is more or less one of the major implications of conservative thought if not it's actual definition (perhaps that depends on the context though).
What...? Do you pay taxes? You don't get to pick and choose what you fund, taxes are taxes. I think you'd be surprised how much of what you pay goes to defense contractors. But you arent giving money to defense and military spending. Changing healthcare has been on the docket for every president in recent history...at least Obama accomplished something there. Many say he didn't go far enough either, since we don't have a single-payer system.3.- As far as I can tell, people did vote for obama to change healthcare. Well, it is true the US does print money although it's not like it is printed completely arbitrarily. And yes, the country does burrow money. but who do you think pays those interests? A country's citizens. Everything the government does is ultimately paid for by their citizens work.If it all came from tax payer money then we wouldn't be in debt, the country is borrowing money from somewhere. And the country brings in in non individual tax income.
In the state of Virginia you have to have car insurance (or, like healthcare, pay a huge fee for not having it [$500 for va for having not even the minimal car insurance]) So you are still punished for not having it and thus were forced to have it just like ACA forces you to have insurance or pay some hefty fee. At least with car insurance its not affected by being increased by others without having insurance. That's my point! He's grandstanding like he's saying something revolutionary and contra to what the Obama administration does, but it's literally what Bush established the Department of Homeland Security for.
What...? Do you pay taxes? You don't get to pick and choose what you fund, taxes are taxes. I think you'd be surprised how much of what you pay goes to defense contractors.
Let me ask, do you pay car insurance? How do you feel about legally being required to pay for it? Do you think it's a smart and worthwhile thing? If so, how is that any different from the ACA? Unlike driving without being insured, you won't do any jail time for refusing to pay for insurance...
Well, we can safely agree that rubio is basically a drone with no ideas of his own. Maybe his proposal in this regard is more government...That's my point! He's grandstanding like he's saying something revolutionary and contra to what the Obama administration does, but it's literally what Bush established the Department of Homeland Security for.

Huh? Car insurance rates go up and down all of the time due to exactly that, as well as fraudulent claims. With the ACA, car insurance and medical insurance exist for the exact same reason and are nearly identical in function. In the state of Virginia you have to have car insurance (or, like healthcare, pay a huge fee for not having it [$500 for va for having not even the minimal car insurance]) So you are still punished for not having it and thus were forced to have it just like ACA forces you to have insurance or pay some hefty fee. I don't know if I'd characterize him as that, but I think he's probably the least accomplished among the career politicians in the field (not counting Ted Cruz).Well, we can safely agree that rubio is basically a drone with no ideas of his own. Maybe his proposal in this regard is more government...
That is true as well (I recall reading about that a while ago although I don't have that much specific information). What surprised me about obamacare is that they didn't seem to target hospitals and instead focused a fair bit on insurance companies.
I said car insurance, not renter's insuranceHow is car insurance affected by what others due? My rental insurance doesnt increase YOY due to what other people do.

But you don't think healthcare is a right for every citizen?I dont have an issue with my money going to military and defense spend as I gladly support it.
Wait, they use gettin rid of what Obama has done as part of fear mongering? I find that hard to believe considering how unpopular Obama is with even the democrats. I remember reading that Hillary distanced herself from Obama for her campaign. I thought democrats would be all "we're democrats, but we won't make mistakes like Obama did or take his views in most things!"To be fair "upholding status quo" is more or less one of the major implications of conservative thought if not it's actual definition (perhaps that depends on the context though).

Yes I am. I'm paying taxes, and those taxes go to defense and military spending. You are too, if you pay taxes. At least people can afford insurance, which I don't see anything wrong with. I'm also sure if politicians weren't asshats, ACA would be much better for its citizens. I could be wrong, but I'm going with the assumption that the politicians did whatever they could to make ACA a burden on citizens. But you arent giving money to defense and military spending. But you do have to pay a fine, which can be worse.Unlike driving without being insured, you won't do any jail time for refusing to pay for insurance...
Horrible thing to support when we have nothing to show for the $500+billion we spend. Especially when you don't really benefit from it as much as you would if the money was used to support US's infrastructure instead. Imagine subways that can connect cities together, from one side of the country to another! I find this more exciting than giving money to contractors who would probably buy yachts.I dont have an issue with my money going to military and defense spend as I gladly support it.
I think its a good idea for people who are working or retired to have health insurance but I dont think they should be forced to have it. Were all forced to pay for medicare, which I dont have an issue with though since I think its a good idea to have a blanket protection to use after a lifetime of working. I think its a good idea to have Car insurance but I dont think they should be forced to have it if they dont want it.I said car insurance, not renter's insurance

You're going overboard here. I'm merely saying that the budget shouldn't continue to be increased when we aren't even at war. I'm not for defunding the military, only that funding it shouldn't come at the cost of denying social welfare and benefits to citizens.Horrible thing to support when we have nothing to show for the $500+billion we spend.
