Source? CDC from what I just saw has that on their website as well.
Hmm, wonder how many of them are Trump supporters. Interestingly though, no one has ever mentioned Youtubers mentioning that, and given how people feel about anti-maskers, there'd be some mention of it by now.
"Basic science" and reading comprehension would tell you that that paper was published in 2005 about SARS-CoV-1, not SARS-CoV-2. They're both caused by a coronavirus, but that doesn't mean the infection and disease are identical. Studies like these are part of the reason why it was approved for compassionate use early on, but preliminary data for using it on people with COVID-19 seemed to indicate that the benefit was negligible compared to the risks of taking it. In some cases people on it had a higher mortality rate even. Prophylactic use of it didn't indicate much of a benefit either. If there was convincing data, why would Fauci or the CDC oppose it?

The study cited there isn't for covid19 but rather a different coronavirus.
The study there shows the effectiveness in cell cultures, not in live subjects.
The study mentions primates... so not even actual humans.
Essentially, they tried the drug in a lab setting with primate cells to kill a different virus... Which is completely different from this being a proven cure. This type of study could be reasonable used to as a stepping stone for actual human trials but it doesn't by itself prove anything. For more context, in a lab setting it's comically easy to kill a virus. Just, light a match or put it in a microwave... So in this sense finding a drug that can do this in a lab setting is not even remarkable. Killing a virus is not in itself difficult, the tricky part is getting rid of it without killing the host...
Is this the study used by trump and his clowns to suggest the drug in question is a cure for covid19?
As far as I know. Elon Musk wanted a quick economic recovery to the pandemic. His goal was a quick turnaround which allowed him to re-open tesla factories. Musk talked to the smartest and best scientists he knows of personally, to request advice on treatments for corona virus. Chloroquine was their best recommendation.
Elon Musk passed the chloroquine recommendation on to Trump. That's where Trump recommending chloroquine came from.
WHO, CDC, Dr. Fauci and others obstructed chloroquine treatments in america for no legitimate reason.
Instead they support remdesivir which is around 100x more expensive and 50% less effective than chloroquine.
Fuck big pharma and price-gouging, but Hydroxychloroquine has been used as a therapeutic for 65 years for a multitude of different conditions, while Remdesivir was developed within the past decade and has only been used to treat Ebola since 2016. It's a newer medicine, of course it's more expensive.
Where is your source for saying it's 50% less effective? Because nothing I've seen suggests that.

But.... who were these scientist? Were they virologists, infectologists and whichever other relevant medical field? What studies were they basing of these recommendation? Hopefully not the one you mentioned because actual scientists using that to recommend chloroquine would be grossly unethical. Why is trump taking policy advise from musk of all people?
Chloroquine treatments have not been obstructed. It's use was allowed until actual studies showed that it wasn't having an effect, as xi0 mentioned.
And.. there are actual studies that show rendisivir could be effective in reducing mortality. That much at least is in no form or context a Fauci or WHO thing. Same thing with that other drug which was approved at the UK... The CDC and WHO in this context simply received studies from elsewhere and acted based on them.

Though going through it most of those don't appear to be studies that should be taken seriously. And the peer reviewed thing is highly questionable at best.
Squarespace isn't "big tech", it's a privately owned company with less than 800 employees. Why should they abide someone using their services to spread misleading information about the biggest public health emergency in a century?
You can regurgitate talking points all you want, you still haven't stated what the truth is about masks or chloroquine.

Even if you had some sort of baseline reasoning for disagreeing with "accepted" medical opinion, choosing a raving lunatic who believes in astral intercourse, alien dna, and demon sperm as your champion discredits everything you say. Claiming to have a cure when you've supposedly only treated a few hundred people makes you look like a snake oil salesman. No MD worth a shit is going to use this type of language, even if you sincerely feel that way.
What they are doing has nothing to do with truth, masks or chloroquine... You can have any debate within a scientific context but it will obviously have to be framed around evidence and multiple peer reviewed studies showing said evidence. The vast majority of folk in the scientific community agree in that masks are pretty damn effective at stopping the spread of the virus and the actual studies that exists show hydroxichloroquine simply doesn't do anything either as a preventative treatment or as a cure. So.... what reason is there to listen to these folk when what they are doing has nothing do with medicine or the scientific process?
I can almost understand why someone would think DB has porn given toriyama's early humor (which is specifically not DBZ) but I really want to know what "they" he is referring to.

I will admit that as someone who was born in the 90’s, I sometimes forget Toriyama had some pretty crude toilet humor in the early days of DB. So my first reaction was understandably “WTF is another GOP twit pulling out of his ass now?” But then you reminded me why.
