Mussilini and hitler were both against communism... and against capitalism. Facism is essentially an authoritarian form on government in which people and businesses are essentially subservient to the state and whatever absurd idea of extreme nationalism they have. It's not even hard to google what the facists from back in the day thought about communism, capitalism.. and jewish people. With that in mind, facism is in fact a far right wing thing which disregards basic democratic principles. There is a reason why people with nazi flags who scream "blood and soil" ultimately support trump.

I think the problem discussing politics with americans is that they live in a polarized two party system where you are either for or against something. There is no room for nuances or more than two factions. Here in Sweden we have eight parties represented in parliament and each of them have various factions fighting inside of the parties. And thats not counting the parties that are too small to get seats in parliament.

Look, maybe the most sensible thing is to first explain the words I'm using. Because Socialism in Sweden is going to mean something completely different than in the black and white world of america.

So what is socialism?

Socialism is an umbrella ideology that purport that more of society's power and resources should be controlled by a central government entity rather than the individuals that make up the society or by smaller organizations like families or companies. Capitalism is even more poorly defined. I will here choose to define it as the opposite of socialism. A weaker central government and more money and power kept by the individual. I do this because its how people use the terms. And also because I have read a number of capitalist writers and they often have nothing in common! Milton Freedman and Adam Smiths definitions of a free market are often the complete opposites of one another! But that's a story for another time.

There are many ideologies that takes the general blueprint of socialism and applies it in a more specialized manner. Examples includes, but are not limited to: Communism, Social Democracy, National Socialism, Anarchism. Many of them can be further specialized down various ideological family trees. Communism includes Marxism, Trotskyism, Maois, Stalinism. Nationa Socialism includes various forms of fascism. And so on. They are all ultimately specific implementations socialist ideologies.

But they hate each other!

Sweden have a long history of various types of socialism. There is an old joke among the right in Sweden that "Communists are the lowest kind of creatures. Just like bacteria, they reproduces through cell division!" This is a statement pertaining to the many man small communist cults that existed in Sweden 1970-90 or so. They were usually controlled by a charismatic personality that had complete control over his followers and dictated the communist truth. Unfortunately various people tended to disagree, break off and found their own little cults with a new leader and a slightly different ideology. This happened easily 10-15 times or so. These various cults were surprisingly harmless to society as a whole as they spent most of their time and energy fighting the other cults as the other ones were clearly heretics!

So just because Communism and Fascism are very similar does not mean that they are not also mortal enemies. In WW2 both fascism and communism were ideologies bent on conquering the world through any means necessary. It is natural that they would see themselves in each other and realize that the other were the greatest threat to their plans. Thus the boundless hate for one another despite their similarities.

There is a reason why people with nazi flags who scream "blood and soil" ultimately support trump.
What? Haven't you hear? Richard Spencer and his alt-right allies have gone out and opposed Trumps reelection. They are now fully supporting Biden and asking their members to vote democrat this election. So the biggest and most prolific group of nazies in america are currently supporting Biden. Does that mean that Biden is now a nazie? Because apparently Trump became a nazie the same way.

And why are you calling that kid a fascist? Do you even know what that word means? (I mean other than "everyone we dont like is a fascist") Those people are libertarians and probably the furthest away from being a socialist. And fascism is a branch of socialism. Its founder Benito Mussolini was himself a communist before became distraught with their ineffectiveness and started a "better" socialist party which he called the fascist party. When he got in to power he then nationalized all big companies in the country. Leaving only the tiny ones privately owned.

In fact the rioters in Kenosha are much closer to fascist than that boy who defended a car dealership from looters and then defended himself when those looters attacked him and chased after him with guns. Musolini and Hitler both employed semi-organized rioters and mobs to attack their political enemies and to burn down the businesses of people of a class they did not like. (mostly jews) Read up on the "Kristallnacht" why dont you?
No, I don't use the word only to describe people I dislike and I don't use it lightly. But when you as a citizen travel into another state with a weapon designed to kill and maim people you are absolutely closer to a fascist than you are to someone who is supposed to be anti-statist.

You can invoke horseshoe theory as much as you want, and philosophically I would mostly agree. But the reality is, no one associated with Antifa is responsible for the death of single person in the last 25 years, while right-wing extremists are responsible for hundreds. You can argue about their ideology until you're blue in the face, but the emergent behavior behind these two "groups" have not resulted in the same consequences. Property =/= human life.

BTW, a person can be against rioting and looting and also think that an armed child shouldn't be acting out their CoD fantasies IRL under the guise of some warped sense of "public service".

Ah yes, maintaining order AKA crossing state lines and LARPing as militia while using a firearm illegally in order to "protect the property" of people he doesn't even know. How altruistic. It definitely had nothing to do with wanting to kill people he thinks he disagrees with politically or anything. Yes, let's glorify this kind of person and do it on national TV even. That's the ticket!
A 17-year-old shouldn't have been able to get a gun, and when the cops saw him, shouldn't have been allowed to roam free. This kid and the cops are beyond fucked up for what happened, and he at the least should be tried as an adult, while the cops that let him go should be fired.

If a Black person walked by with a toy gun, these same cops would have shot the person on sight.

And why are you calling that kid a fascist? Do you even know what that word means? (I mean other than "everyone we dont like is a fascist")
The irony of the right saying that is that they call every idea they don't like and every people they don't like as "waah socialism/socialist/communist!!" even when it's not.

No and it didn't mean the people David Duke supported on the Democratic ticket were Nazis either. Though, unlike Trump, Biden's campaign quickly rebuked Spencer's support. For some reason they didn't seem to have trouble rejecting support from white supremacists.

Speaking of nuance though, Spencer himself said he shifted his support to Biden because he believes he's more competent, not for ideological reasons. If you want to take that an face value or believe it's some sort of play for Accelerationism, that's up to you.

Why is it that you people defend these riots and looting? You must realize that to most people this is the true face of terror with violent people beating and stealing as they see fit. Besides, every rioter is a campaign spokesman for why Donald Trump should be reelected. After all, people who see their cities get destroyed and are threatened by violent marauders from one side will feel fear and cry out for help from the other side. The only one standing up to the lawlessness is Trump while the democrats are actively supporting and abating it. So if you want it to stop you either have to vote straight republican or hope that extortionists will leave you alone if you do everything they want.

Nobody here defends the riots. Arguing which side is "more fascist" seems like a fallacy to me because how the fuck do you measure on the scale of fascism. "The rioters attacking the kid are about 2.3 Hitler Moustaches fascist while the 17-year-old kid on his counter-protesting spree with his rifle is about 2 Stalin Moustaches."

They were deliberately searching for violence. You can't tell me that anyone crosses state lines, armed illegally out of fear of looting. The rioters, with some of the arrests showing that enough "non-local" people engage in violence IMO are pretty much the same. Whether their ideology is left or right doesn't matter. Fascism's characteristics are authoritarianism and some form ultranationalism. Whether it is on the right or on the left, ultimately it leads to bloodshed and misery. Both need to be stopped regardless of which side of the aisle they sit on, name or which celebrities support them. The Extreme Right has killed millions and the Extreme Left has killed millions more. Pointing fingers just distracts from the fact that both sides are more than capable of violence and will use it against those who stand against them.

What have you been smoking? Zero deaths from Antifa? You do realize that there is an Antifa fueled riot that has been going on for months by now and have killed 32 people right? I mean it is hard to tell if the people were killed by real Antifa or just a normal deranged leftist that believes the same things. (Antifa have no member rolls) But at least some of the deaths are definitely Antifas doing. Like the shootings in the CHAZ, Seattle. At least two black people were killed by the leftist occupants. The first one, the murderer is unknown. But the second one was definitely killed by Antifa. He was a 16 year old black kid who had stolen a car with his brother and was driving it to CHAZ because he though he would be safe there from the cops. Unfortunately, the John Brown Gun Club (A branch of Antifa) that handled security for the CHAZ though that the high speed car was an enemy attack and shot more than 300 bullets at the car. Killing the driver and heavily injuring the younger brother. He might yet survive the five bullets that hit him. Maybe. But its also possible that Antifa have killed more black people in the last months than the police have. So who should BLM have beef with again?

Remember when you hear from leftists that they want to defund the police and replace them with community policing. These are the kind of community police that they have in mind. That shoots with machine guns at anything that looks scary and takes responsibility for nothing.

Also, lets not forget the big cahuna himself, Connor Betts. He is an Antifa member who went on a killing spree murdering 17 people! https://nypost.com/2019/08/06/dayton-shooter-may-be-antifas-first-mass-killer/

I could probably find a lot more if I googled it. These are just the ones from the top of my head. How is it you state that they have 0 kills? Because of fake news obviously. You need to find less biased news sources.

You can invoke horseshoe theory as much as you want, and philosophically I would mostly agree.
No! Horse shoes, not even once! You completely missed my point. Sargon's stupid Horseshoe theory states that left and right are like a ring and meets in the extremes. I on the other hand think the entire left-right mental construct is stupid as hell. Its more like a haystack or an amorphous blob where many political ideologies relates to one another in a myriad of ways. Unfortunately, with a two part system these ideologies have to make unholy alliances with one another in order to squeeze in to one or both of the parties. And outside observers may be led to think that everyone in a party is there for the same reasons. If one party have one misbehaving group in it then the other party will make its best to paint that group as being representative of the whole part.

But when you as a citizen travel into another state with a weapon designed to kill and maim people you are absolutely closer to a fascist than you are to someone who is supposed to be anti-statist.
They were deliberately searching for violence. You can't tell me that anyone crosses state lines, armed illegally out of fear of looting.
Wait? Why are you both using the argument that he traveled across state lines to pick a fight? Thats a very strange line to come up with independently?

Look I know whats happening here. You people are being lied to! It is true in the most technical sense that he did travel across state lines. But you must also understand that the city of Kenosha lies right at the border between Wisconsin and Illinois. This guy technically lives in Illinois, but its just 20 minutes between his home and the place the shootings took place and Kenosha is the closest town to were he lives so he is probably there all the time. So why does leftist media make a fuss about him crossing state lines? I'm not a lawyer so I dont know if there are any special laws preventing legal weapons from moving between states with their owners. I've never heard of it. But no, I think they make a fuss about it in order to fool their readers in to thinking that this guy came from far away maybe from a racist enclave in the south? This is called a "lie by omission". They only tell you part of the truth in order to make you deliberately misunderstand. And then they dont correct the mistake.

And about fear of looting. I think you both gravely misunderstand how much looting and destruction is actually going on. Again its because leftist publication lie by omission and dont explain it. Here is an article from a local paper in Minneapolis that describes the damages from the riots there up until July 13. They counted 1500!!! different companies that had been vandalized and looted! And they even have a map over it! And this is just the looting in one city! The riots have been ongoing all over the country for another 46 days since!

Also, have you maybe considered that the people that runs and work and shop in these companies dont want to see them gone? That they sympathize with the victims being attacked by fascists and want to protect them? And if the looters really dont want to get shot they could just stop looting and destroying and just go home you know. There would not not even be a conflict if one side did not move up and attack the defenders. If they had just gone home he militia would just stand there and talk about football or something. No one would be harmed.

The irony of the right saying that is that they call every idea they don't like and every people they don't like as "waah socialism/socialist/communist!!" even when it's not.
There are people on the right out there that might fit this description. But not me. I'm always very deliberate in my use of words. And I even wrote a long definition of what is and is not socialism up above. Please read it if you missed.

Antifa isn't the police charged serving and protecting all citizens regardless of race or creed. So I don't understand this comparison at all.

And not for nothing, there's countless examples of black protesters getting upset with white looters who look like black bloc or at least anarchists.

No! Horse shoes, not even once! You completely missed my point. Sargon's stupid Horseshoe theory states that left and right are like a ring and meets in the extremes.
Horseshoe theory isn't Sargon's creation, but I digress...

Wait? Why are you both using the argument that he traveled across state lines to pick a fight? Thats a very strange line to come up with independently?
Independently? There's nothing strange about it. I know geography, the distance is irrelevant. When you have a carry permit or you live in a state that doesn't require one in the US you have a license for it in a specific state. There is reciprocal permits depending on the states, but it's irrelevant since open carry in Wisconsin requires the person be 18, and the shooter wasn't.

Also, have you maybe considered that the people that runs and work and shop in these companies dont want to see them gone? Yes I have considered that. Saying that's not on the same level as the loss of human life doesn't mean I'm ignorant of the cost or impact.

There are videos on Twitter showing undercover cops and even uniformed cops doing a lot of damage, and protesters stopping rioters from damaging towns. They also show protesters cleaning up their cities and giving away looted stuff to people who need it.

I am not quite pro property tax or even pro inheritance taxes for that matter. Both have an iffy history and can be hard to implement. Taxing income is simpler and fairer IMO. Property taxes make more sense if you specifically want or need people to sell their stuff. Say, someone buys land and just keeps it for 20 years hoping to make a killing at some point.... rather than sell it earlier to someone who would actually develop the land. Inheritance tax wise I am skeptical of forcing people into a position where they have to sell what they are inheriting to keep it just a part of it. I suppose that depends on how the inheritance tax is implemented and the rate though.
Taxing income makes the tax system more complex because income has to be traced from businesses to individuals. Individual characteristics such as marital status and number of dependents, as well as the composition of expenditures or income, have to be reported and documented. These conflicting objectives appear to be especially relevant in the current tax code, where the desire to reduce tax burdens for particular groups have added significant complexity.

I'd argue that the main problem with US politics is that the US system is inherently anti-majority. The US would run much smoother if we had a parliamentary system like Sweden. Such a development would allow greater opportunities for government to invest in our populace instead of penalizing them.

Most governments already know just about all of that to begin with. In my country for instance when I pay taxes for instance I simply enter into my IRS equivalent account, look into the recorded expenditures and assign them to a type of expenditure. Income from salaries is automatically entered so you only have to input stuff you make on the side basically. The whole thing takes about an hour at the most. It's very easy and you don't need an accountant. In some european countries it's easier, the government just sends you how much you pay and you basically just check if the amount the government sent is wrong. Taxing income in reality is literally super easy in most places of the world, barring money laundering and intentional evasion... In a previous post I made the point that the alternatives to taxing income were nigh impossible clusterfucks which are doomed to fail on their own.

That was Scott Presler. A conservative and Trump supporter.

Presler had 200 volunteers clean up 12 tons of trash over 12 hours in West Baltimore.

Conservative activist Scott Presler organized a cleanup even in Portland, where homelessness is a significant concern.

Pro-Trump activist Scott Presler recently traveled to Nashville to help cleanup the city and register people to vote in the upcoming election.

Volunteers took a group photo after cleaning up Houston.

Scott Presler arranged a cleanup event in Chicago.

Nope, he was nowhere in the videos of protesters, mostly Black protesters, cleaning up their cities. Nice try though. Would be cool to know he's not another bigoted Trump supporter though despite being gay, I assume, based on a quick Google search.

Not gonna lie though, the photos make me feel suspicious of his motives.

Which cities were cleaned on which dates?

If you look up the info on who organized those city clean ups, I wonder what you would find.

You cant have it both ways. Either Antifa is an organization that exist and have selfdescribed members. Or they are not an organization that exist. If an Antifa is just a person that believe himself to hate fascist then that is even worse as then almost all leftist violence is Antifa violence.

Have white supremacists really killed that many? In the last 25 years? By people who call themselves white supremacists as opposed to being called that by their opponents? Its not that I say your lying. But my memory is hazy. Please remind me.

Antifa isn't the police charged serving and protecting all citizens regardless of race or creed. So I don't understand this comparison at all.
They did make themselves the police of CHAZ though. And a lot of high profile leftists have stated that they want to get rid of the police and replace it with community policing. Which is what this is! Some places like Seattle and New York have already begun defunding their police. To disastrous results.

In NY shootings are up 130%, murders are up 30% and burglaries are up 118% compared to the same month last year. In some parts of the city it has gone up way more than that. Rape is actually down 21% and robberies are also down 17%. But I guess the lockdowns and the fact that people dont go out much are pushing those kinds of crimes down. None of these statistics even cover the rioting though. So this is mostly separate.

Independently? There's nothing strange about it. I know geography, the distance is irrelevant. Actually I watched stream where they took up that argument, so I can lay your fears to rest. Apparently 18 years is for handguns. For long guns open carry is 16 years. He was using a long gun. (This rule actually exist so that young people can go out and hunt. But whatever.)

I think the main problem in the US is that the states and cities can make their own tax rules. In say, Sweden all taxation goes through the national government. There are counties, but they can only set the tax rate, they cant make up new taxes. Also the tax code is easy and automatic. You always owe the government a lot of money! Few deductions! Pay up! Or dont. Most taxes are levied at the companies that pay you. So the individual dont have a choice in paying. It get deducted from your salary before you even get it and like kkck say: You usually just have to pay taxes if you sell stuff like stocks or a house or something. Otherwise you get a tax-statement to click OK on every year. And even if you dont click OK on it nothing will happen usually.

Ehh, maybe... The parliamentary system have its problems as well. For example it tends to give disproportionally large power to small parties. In Sweden the green party is tiny, but has always held great sway over the government no mater if it was the right or left that formed the government. This is because they were "king makers". The small sliver that decides if you have a majority or not. And the Green Party is probably the worst party in parliament with the worst environmental polices. And I say that as someone that have studied environmental science at university level.

Also. The ones who form the government is not necessary the majority. Just the biggest faction. In the last 30 years or so, two out of three have be run by a minority government that lacked support from a majority of voters. Current government only have support from 40.2% of the populous. But you cant get rid of them because the opposition also hate each other and cant agree on a replacement.

I'd find BLM protesters cleaning up their cities, and BLM protesters stopping rioters from damaging the cities. However, media can't be trusted because they're trying to make BLM movement look bad, and right wing sources less so as they're either bigoted or trying to appeal to bigots.

It get deducted from your salary before you even get it and like kkck say: You usually just have to pay taxes if you sell stuff like stocks or a house or something. Otherwise you get a tax-statement to click OK on every year. And even if you dont click OK on it nothing will happen usually.
The main difference between Europe and the US is culture. The reasons are that Europeans believe they get value for their taxes, have greater trust in their governments and a greater preference for equality, and view those receiving benefits as not dissimilar to themselves (see here, here, here, and here). It actually appears that Europeans enjoy paying taxes: more progressive nations with higher taxes rank higher on happiness measures. Meanwhile, Americans view much government spending as pure waste, have little trust in government, and tend to view welfare recipients as moochers and minorities.

True, the parliamentary system has its flaws, but it's far easier to get things done than it is with the presidential system. At the national level, the problem is the Republican party. The party is overrun by con artists like Trump thanks to the fact-free environment so many of its voters live in, and because of the anti-Democrat hysteria that had been willfully whipped up by so many of its politicians.

And most of the taxes we pay are wasted on the wrong things, like defense and warfare. If you look at Denmark, for example, the main reason why their happiness measures high is because they know they're getting something in return for their taxes, that they're taken care of. For US, we have politicians fighting against giving us our tax money back or taking care of us while giving corporations more money to spend recklessly.

According to this, America isn't even in the top 5 in terms of how much taxes we pay:
