Russia, China, North Korea.. These countries know how to handle unhinged folk with NPD (narcissistic personality disorder). You make them feel important and they will sing any song you want them to. Musk is essentially an emotionally stunted billionaire with toys that can change the course of a war. They will obviously appeal to that. It's similar to the stimulus checks and how Donald Trump insisted his name be signed on each check in the USA - he wants to feel like he personally gave those checks to America.
It was a lot more understated. Of course there was always the Tesla-bros that followed him probably because they made money on the stock, but people wanting his time to talk about space ventures or other futuristic stuff was something I generally took no issue with. At least someone with the wealth and platform was talking about it, etc. But as the years went on he unmasked himself more and more. It really should have been expected but the starting point was sort of unique enough to where you could get duped into thinking he was different.
I mean, this already explains itself. Bipartisan because your parties are ultra pro-capitalist anyways, and pro-capitalistic people have, for a very long time, absolutely worshipped these tech moguls like living saints. They are like the ultimate role models, contributing something revolutionary and apparently beneficial to society, and through capitalism!

This I absolutely feel. For all the flaws of the pharmaceutical industry the alternative medicine and supplement industry (and lets throw in the cosmetic industry for the lolz) somehow manages to be a more disgusting cesspool.... These guys don't even have any legal obligation whatsoever to be science and yet get to pretend to be so. Just medicine having the adjective "alternative" should raise a comical amount of red flags. Any flaw you can find in the pharmaceutical industry you can find times ten in the alternative-medicine/supplement/cosmetic industries...
What is the right thing to do? It was Musk who offered up Starlink in the first place. If he didn't want to support Ukraine he shouldn't have bothered with the lazy PR attempt in the first place. Now that his sycophants are primarily Putin ball-washers he wants to play peacekeeper? It's nonsense honestly.

I kinda stayed away with the whole Musk-Urkaine thing. For one, I do agree that he has too much power. But I do think if he doesn't ride the line too well, he may got assassinated. Also there is less and less incentive to help urkaine since his base is way more anti Urkaine now compare to last year. (by the liberals leaving him, and more conservatives becoming his fans). Also helping one side or another regardless of which side is right, that does result in deaths. Sometimes death to the innocent, sometimes to the guilty. Sometimes to the unwilling that got drafted.
I do think it is the right thing to do, but from Musk's perspective. There are other calculations.

I don't understand why one so skeptical at one thing like big pharma and vaccines and then buy toad oil from Usopp. People said ohh the big corporation, government are all financially motivated. Where as the world is mostly run on money, influence, fame, of some sort. Random Joe making million of random chemicals that aren't tested or regulated or have any basis in science. Isn't that not financially motivated?
For all of its flaws pharmaceuticals in the USA are regulated and tested to extremely high standards, with only a few real cracks in the system (Purdue Pharma definitely fucked our country hard). The prices they charge for meds are definitely ridiculous, and they take advantage of Americans by and large and need to be reigned in on how they price life-saving drugs. The alternative medicine and pseudoscience route is a great way to actually get yourself killed, though, while still being screwed financially. Really wish they'd reign in all the alternative bullshit because I swear people here actually think a chiropractor helps anything but their own wallet. I fell for the Chiro BS ONCE when I was in my early 20's, and when the guy told me I'd need adjustments for life I got online and did my own research, and found that to be one of the top bull-shit pseudo science scams and never went back.
