You can't even say i stand with innocent Israelis, Almost every Israeli served in the military
I get the vibe you've never actually met an Israeli person before. The country has mandatory conscription and the citizens of the country aren't mindless drones who follow one singular political ideology. They all have their own opinions. Simply existing in a space does not mean you endorse everything that happens within said space. 21% of the country's population are Arab, too. Most who aren't involved in the government simply want to live their lives.

It is even worse when they try to paint Palestinians as the bad people due to fake propaganda and lies. There is no doubt, No Palestinian love an Israeli but that doesn't mean they would massacre them all Israelis and wipe them off the map, They would express their anger using horrible words but its just talks. They are humans, and they have feelings, How can you ask the victim to not express their anger and frustration when they are getting killed for over 60 years now? Yes there are extremists and lunatics but its the case in every place on this earth. The difference is the world are enabling Israeli extremists and justify their crimes, and these very people of the world scream human rights, anti racism, equality, etc. It make no sense. hypocrisy at its peak. It also proves that people are just going with the flow, and don't really stick to their moral claims if it is against the tide.
Gaza is run by Hamas, who were voted in with a majority vote. Hamas's own charter is pretty simple: Kill all the Jews. Sound pretty familiar? I think some Austrian guy wrote something similar in the early 40's? Believe it or not you can be sympathetic to a people (the Palestinians, or civilians in Israel) without fully endorsing their government's choices. I live in the USA and I could talk for days about how many things I disagree with that my own government does. Is nuance just dead? A bunch of militants go shoot up and murder civilians in a festival in a rage, kidnapping many of them, and we just say "Well, they needed to blow off the steam! The victim was just that country I hate, after all." Killing civilians is never okay. I don't care if the civilian is a citizen of the most hostile country on Earth who's oppressed you for years. If there's any entity responsible for the current plight of that region, it's Great Britain, who essentially encouraged the toppling of the Ottoman Empire (where Jews and Muslims co-existed in relative peace, surprisingly) and Hitler who took eugenics to the next level in trying to exterminate the Jews which was enough evidence to most of the world that the Jewish people were not really safe anywhere. Shit I lived in Austin and we regularly had literal mother-fucking NAZIS standing on bridges with Swatzika flags and anti-Jew propaganda. One Nazi in Austin even set a Synagogue on fire (in 2021). Most of Israel's neighbors encourage elimination of the Jews.

Did you know many victims of abuse go on to become abusers themselves? This is similar, but on a larger scale. Israel became similar to their own oppressors over the years (not quite as bad, IMO).

I'm completely sympathetic to the plight of Palestine and the unjust, criminal segregation they face. I disagree with the government of Israel in their decisions over the years in how they handled the Palestinians. I'm also disgusted they'd cut off resources to Gaza in an effort "to treat them like animals." I also think every one of those militants who took part in the raids in Israel deserve to be skull-fucked by elephants.

Not to mention the hatred for Muslims.
It's religion, dude. All religions are about hating everything that's slightly different, including Islam. Hate begets hate and when you have a religion whose loudest voices want to murder homosexuals, punish minor crimes with death, and heavily restrict women's rights you are going to direct a lot of hate toward your followers. Muslims are meet have all been very kind and respectful, but unfortunately for them the countries they hail from are all controlled by Middle-Eastern versions of Kenneth Copeland with a military at their disposal.

It doesn't work like that. No one is forced to do anything in this world. You either choose to be good or bad, There is no in between. No matter how pressured you are. You either choose to be good and face the consequences in that place or you can be evil and choose to kill people and also face the consequences. If you are a foreign jew or a foreign arab and you migrated to Israel then its your mistake to begin with, You choose that. Also there is nothing called they just want to live their lives. They know they will get more benefits in this place than their original place that why they exists in semi war zones, No one want to live like that unless they are getting compensated in some way or another.

I don't know what wrong with people honestly, Thinking Palestine don't have basic humans right to resist. They have the right to fight back when they are getting killed daily even before hamas.

whataboutism

Has nothing to do with the current situation, What we see now is the world rallying against a single district. Biden offered 8 Billion and aircraft carrier and ammunations support to kill civilians.

This is a bunch of nonsense. Plenty of people are forced to do things they don't want to do. By this logic one could just make the argument that anyone in Gaza chose to be there because "nobody is forced to do anything in this world" and we're at the end of the discussion, because hey, they chose this! Good and evil are constructs created by humans and completely subjective. They have no place in debate.

I don't know what wrong with people honestly, Thinking Palestine don't have basic humans right to resist. They have the right to fight back when they are getting killed daily even before hamas.
You think going to a concert and shooting up a bunch of people is resisting? Jesus fucking christ. You're part of the goddamned problem. How about people stop fucking killing each other, period? Have you thought about that or are you too busy reading The Final Solution?

The world is rallying against the act of murder. School shooters are often victims of bullying. There is a reason we don't go singing their praises when they take out their aggression. Because it's horrendous, just like this was. Two wrongs do not make a right and murdering innocents is not resisting. It's cowardice, and idiocy, because any rage upon the Palestinian people in Gaza is going to be as a result of Hamas's actions. So, congratulations to them I guess. They decided to take a bunch of innocents with them to their magical daddy in the sky.

Good and evil is subjective to sick head likes you, We all agree that murder, theft, rape, etc is bad. There is a moral code run the world.
Only one of us is justifying the murder of innocents, and it’s not me. Also, there are literal societies who build their laws around state sponsored murder and rape (Shariah) so your argument that this isn’t subjective is meritless and quite literally false in reality. Remember, we aren’t existing in your headcannon version of reality. We’re in the real world.

Anyways, I have no interest in arguing with someone who thinks like you do. You’ve laid your cards out and it’s clear you’re OK with bystanders being murdered so long as their mom did something bad, or something? Maybe put your copy of the Final Solution down and go live in the real world for a moment and realize that murder is wrong. I’m going to take advantage of the ignore feature for once.

It doesn’t help that the Palestinians are often at each others’ necks too. With them being constantly divided, there just isn’t any way how lasting peace will ever be reached.

Not to mention that they’ve done really stupid things that does not help their case in the international community’s eyes. Case in point? The Munich Olympics attacks. CMIIW
How divided are they?

No one from what I've seen have brought up the Munich Olympics massacre. Even if that didn't happen, even if Palestinians were completely innocent, they'd still be blamed, and peopel would still side with Israel thanks to the propaganda machine. Israel has done horrifying things, with pictures and videos shared on social media, but rarely anyone bats an eye. As soon as unconfirmed reports of Hamas kidnapping a woman, stripping her, and assaulting her comes out, people are quick to believe it and use that to justify genocide.

Zionists/Israel supporters are beyond brainwashed.

I can't tell if you're talking about Islam or Christianity because they're both guilty of that. Hinduism as well.

My point still stands though.

Cmon don't spin the narrative, You are the one who try to justify Zionists crimes and claim they are innocent out of your sorry ass, I didn't. All i said Palestinians have the right to defend themselves. It triggered you so hard and it is only equivalent to politicians of the world who says Israel have the right to defend itself yet you don't whine and cry at them.

All you want is Palestinians to be killed, and raped while remaining silent. But are fine with it when its the opposite. What hamas is doing is nothing compared to what Israeli did or doing or will do.

Thanks so much for ignoring me.

And "a religion" where you mentioned Islam in the previous sentence. And Muslims after that. So.

Which kind of makes sense if those in different areas live differently.

The conflict is too asymmetrical to take the obvious moral highground of "terrorism is bad" and have discussion be completely dominated by the spectacle while the world uses that to essentially justify Israel's misdeeds.

I think Zionism is completely stupid and has never made sense, but if people believe that that is important, they're still obligated to treat everyone within their borders the same way. Because Israel refuses to do that, it is an apartheid government that participates in ethnic cleansing via land dispossession. Gaza is an open air prison and Israel's policy towards the Palestinian population breeds the kind of contempt and desperation required to kill civilians. Israel's policies are why Hamas has control of Gaza. The powers that be want Hamas in control there, they've said as much in the past.

To me, it's not that far removed from admitting that US Foreign Policy had a major role in the US being attacked on 9/11. The perpetrators were vilified in completely useless and illogical ways and no one wanted to admit that the US themselves had a role in it happening.

The problem is nobody in this entire thread seems to know anything about the actual history of the region. This is the equivalent of just cheering on the underdog. Acting like Israel is the big bad and this is some justified thing is ignoring a LOT of history. Jewish people came out of WW2 having had a whole nation attempt to commit genocide against them. Jews were spread throughout Europe with nowhere to really call home and plenty of well documented evidence that there are people who want to eradicate them. The Ottoman Empire had also fallen after WW1 and the region of Palestine was very poorly managed by the British after its fall until 1948 when Israel became a recognized nation. Israel exists because the Ottoman Empire fell, then the British completely (in a very British fashion) failed the Palestinians. The world was eager to let Jews migrate to Palestine, a civil war broke out and Britain noped out at that moment leaving the region ripe for the taking. The US (and subsequently the world) recognized the nation of Israel and the next 1948 Arab-Israeli war broke out. A lot of Palestinians chose to flee during this time and Israel took advantage of the situation and took control of the region from them. So naturally the other Arab nations should support Palestine, you'd think. The problem is that they did (and still do) the opposite. Most of the nations there do not accept Palestinian refugees. Egypt even shut off the route to Palestine completely, and starved them out of resources and an economy that was thriving. Iran gives them money to fuck with Israel, but they don't make any active effort to help the people of Palestine and deny any involvement in any attacks Palestine ever carries out.

Calling this "resistance fighting" is also completely idiotic. Resistance typically has a strategy involved that helps the oppressed. You target strategic military points. What you don't do is run into the enemy's territory and film yourself mowing down a bunch of young adults at a music festival, or filming yourself throwing battered women whose crotches are visibly bloodied from the rape they just received into vehicles while executing their family in front of them. Anyone who calls this "resistance fighting" needs to go fuck themselves. Hamas, in a single day, managed to erode the vast majority of support they have outside of that tiny piece of land which they reside. They gave Israel a reason to make a declaration of war against them (which is significant), knowing they live in one of the most densely populated areas on the entire planet. They did this knowing they are signing a death warrant for thousands of their citizens. The Palestinians have a long, well documented history of being screwed over by their own politicians. One of the reasons Hamas exists has nothing to do with Israel - it's simply that the existing political party (Fatah) failed to look out for the interests of their own people. To this day Fatah rules the West bank and Hamas rules the Gaza Strip, and the two entities struggle to come to agreements on anything.

Palestine is its own worst enemy and electing Hamas as a "fuck you" to the world is very likely to be their undoing, as they have no allies outside of hipsters protesting in NYC.

To me, it's not that far removed from admitting that US Foreign Policy had a major role in the US being attacked on 9/11. The perpetrators were vilified in completely useless and illogical ways and no one wanted to admit that the US themselves had a role in it happening.
The reason the perpetrators were vilified is because they crashed commercial jets into buildings and murdered thousands of people who have nothing to do with the politics of it. It's extremely ignorant to think that Osama Bin Ladin and Al Queda are much more than spoiled children who didn't want "infidels" in their holy land. The 9-11 attacks were literally an extremely spoiled piece of shit excuse for a human (Osama Bin Ladin) who hailed from a very wealthy family and had just about everything in his life handed to him suddenly decided he didn't want infidels in his holy land. I don't care how justified you think it is; If someone attack innocent civilians indiscriminately and intentionally they are lower than garbage and deserve whatever they get.

This whole discussion is ridiculous. Most of you would eviscerate someone who misgenders Yamato, but are literally cheering on the murder, rape, and defiling of a bunch of innocent citizens at the hands of a bunch of militants who'd behead any LGBTQ+ people. Also bear in mind that Israel regularly takes the LGBTQ+ refugees of Gaza and West Bank in to protect them from their own oppressive government. My guess is none of you could have pointed out Gaza on a map before Saturday.

I merely pointed out that American/western foreign policy had a role in the 9/11 attacks and I drew a parallel between that and the rise of extremist groups in Israel as a result of Israel's policy towards non-Jews. I find it a bit puzzling why someone would evoke a historical basis for this discussion and but seemingly not understand that.

So...because they have meager regional support they deserve their current situation? I don't understand your point here really. Iran being a bad faith actor, fighting a proxy war on one of the few fronts they could ever hope to means entire city blocks deserved to be glassed and cities deserve to be blanketed in white phosphorus?

Israel is much better when it comes to LGBT+ rights, but not entirely. That link shares that Israel doesn't necessarily protect LGBT+ Muslims the way they do LGBT+ Jewish, and even then, some areas aren't accepting of LGBT+ people in general.

But also, way to make up the accusation. Dunno where you got that from, but one thing I've seen from people who side with Israel is their tendency to overexaggerate everything and imagine people saying things they would never think of. Pretty sure some/most of us who support Palestine's freedom do not support any sort of murder, rape, or defiling innocent citizens. However, I see Israel supporters say nothing when IDF is caught doing the same to Palestinians. Wonder why that is.

Crazy how you can't even speak up against Israel without being accused of being anti-Semitic or when especially Muslims speak up against Israel, they actually get doxxed and "cancelled."

My point is that the Palestine supporters happily ignore the plethora of flaws which are historically documented. Most people (in general, not you specifically) knew nothing about this conflict before this past weekend. There is quite a bit of history of aggression from both sides and people acting like Jews just moved in one day and kicked them out overnight are incredibly misinformed.

I’m not talking about you. I hate the double post feature here so sometimes the end of my posts aren’t directly related to anything I quoted, but I was more generalizing at the end of my post because there are literally people in the thread doing what I described.

In general its ridiculous seeing people who have duked it out over nuanced anti-LGBTQ language on the forums going to bat for countries that literally codify laws to murder LGBTQ people.

I’m not an Israel supporter though. Israelis are hardly even supporters of their own government. I’m a “hey, killing innocent people is fucked up” supporter. As for it being a made up accusation, you can think what you want. I don’t really care.

Hamas is fucking stupid. Israel’s government is abhorrent. Keyboard warriors who call what happened over the weekend “resistance fighting” should go touch grass.

But what does having a deeper historical perspective actually change about the current circumstances? I mean, sure there are people supporting Hamas' rhetoric full-throatily but "siding" with the plight of the average Palestinian is not an endorsement of killing civilians. It's not out of a lack of sympathy for Jewish people either. It's because the Palestinian people are victims of the Israeli government. It's not to excuse the violence perpetrated by Hamas, it's to put it at the doorstep it belongs on.

You said the perpetrators of 9/11 were vilified in useless and meaningless ways. I was clarifying that they were quite literally vilified for the actions they took that day.
The perpetrators and those that supported them... so as far as the terrorist apparatus goes, yes. Maybe I worded it poorly, but my point is the rhetoric following the 9/11 attacks existed almost entirely as superlatives. The "Why?" question was dismissed with useless and meaningless answers like "evil" or "they hate our freedoms". It was propaganda that existed to fuel a war machine that had no interest in reckoning with the real answer.

I'll decry religious extremism as much as most people. Both sides are guilty of it though. So I guess I don't see the point in picking which one is more tolerable to my tastes when the situation is so lopsided. Regardless of their stances, that doesn't excuse the material conditions of the average Palestinian. Innocent women and children don't deserve to have 90% of their water sources be toxic because Israel blockades Gaza and doesn't allow materials required to build/maintain/repair water treatment plants. They don't deserve to have 2/3rds of their electricity turned off by the IDF because they only have a single power plant. How are hospitals supposed to treat victims of the war?

I don't know what LGBTQ and what religion has more tolerant has anything to do with the war. He then copy and past pro israeli narritives about Arab nations refusing to aid Gaza and accept them as refugees and then try to flex a well known history about Israeli occupation of Palestine and acts like no one knows anything about it lol.

Ok, reckon we should probably put a stop to this petty name-calling

Far as I can see, no one is actively calling for/justifying the unquestionably inhumane actions by Hamas, nor the reprehensible bombing of civilians by Israel
- once people start to, then we can have a discussion about what terrible cunts you lot are

There also seems to be rather a lot of possibly intentional misreading of what other people are writing/misinterpretation of what they are saying...

All of this is pretty unhelpful and likely to cause some of you to go further than you perhaps should

Let's stick to topic (which was really meant to be American politics, not Middle Eastern - but, considering how this thread rarely tends to stick to theme, I am happy to let that slide) and try to discuss a pretty complicated [up to the point where lives are lost] situation with at least a modicum of civility

American politics includes Middle eastern conflicts. Its not really an off topic at all.

Perhaps we should discuss Chinese, Russian and European politics here also?

Most 'developed' countries tend to have their fingers in as many other countries business as they can - America is but one of many who have a vested interest in how everyone else is doing

All the above discussion is framed from a Middle Eastern political slant, not an American - hell, British/European politics would be more relevant, if we are going to play that game...

As I said, more than willing to let slide as politeness is honestly more important to me than specifics of topic - keep the tone cordial and I will refrain from deleting posts

im just so concerned why american constantly wants to support israel, i guess i have never been understood for why the country 100% stands behind them in everything, usually.
