Issue is, if he can't handle his own finance, how can he handle America's?

I think it makes him stronger than other candidates who may have never experienced financial troubes. I imagine most American's have and thats why its so easily overlooked and accepted by we supporters. Can anyone really say they can have the same sort of financial experiences as Hilary Clinton or Trump?
I don't know, I don't see how buying a boat using the million dollar signing bonus he got for his book makes him more relatable to the average voter. Sure, he can spin it however he wants, but I don't think that makes him stronger on the countries finances, when he's weak on his own.

I also don't know how you can support someone who doesn't view you as deserving the same rights as everyone else.

Marriage equality? I mean, I'm assuming you know he's against it?
Overall he is still the better candidate. Social issues arent usually high on my ladder for what I use to vote and rank candidates by, since well people need jobs, money, good transportation (state elections), and a secure homeland before they can marry. You cant have a good wedding without money and with skyrocketing divorce rates assaulting the traditional marriage, I don't know if marriage is something one should be voting for over healthcare or military budgets.

Well I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying at all, but I still think it's rather important. There's one party that is consistently behind the times and on the wrong side of history when it comes to social issues and it isn't Democrats.

Republicans are still in the pocket of the insurance and defense industries, so I don't know how they can be trusted to be reasonable on those issues either.

I was under the impression that over the past decade or so divorce rates at the us had been going down. Though there isn't that much reliable information about this either way...

Military budgets are waste of taxpayers' money. I don't know why anyone but people who gain to make money would want to put subpar weapons in the hands of soldiers and enemies and would-be enemies.

Why do you want a weakened america? Are you trying to get us destroyed? More funding would allow us to use advanced modern and sophisticated weapons less funding means broken vehicles, broken artillery, and outdated guns continue to be fixed and reshuffled. If there is more investment more hands, more newer weapons, and better surveillance weaponry, naval aircraft, and other powerful weapons would be able to be used to scare and at its worst eliminate opposition to the point that American would be great again and usher in a new American century.

America isn't going to get weakened, and I doubt we're going to get destroyed. Not to mention, no country would seek to destroy us.

I'm pretty sure they get enough money to reduce the chances of broken stuff, but they don't care because it means more money for them. Despite the money pumped into warfare, we're still no closer to beating the ISIS as we were to beating Russia decades ago. It's a waste of money that can be used for better things, like helping out the vets, the homeless, and needy or NASA, even.

It's cool that you believe warfare industry is full of honest companies, but I doubt they are.

It's not about weakening the military or even cutting spending, it's about not continuing to increase it the way they have.

The US being weaker militarily is something I keep reading about, and republicans seem to make a point about, and even people over here mention it however I have no idea of how to confirm this... How do you measure that? Is it a verifiable claim? What is the US being compared to?

Thanks for that article. I think they're comparing the US military to a hypothetically "weaker" version of itself. The thing to define here is what is getting "weaker." Personally I don't think those who say that mean things like advancement of weaponry (though they are obviously pro-spending on weapons contracts for other reasons) or having more troops on duty. I think in addition to the whole "military-industrial-congressional complex," there's the US' government's loooong history of using its military might to back powerful corporate interests by overthrowing any foreign leader (including those who were popular and/or democratically elected) who won't give them what they want.

There's nothing to compare it to or anything, it's just republicans being silly and playin to people's fear. Similar to extortion, tbh.

Well, when you compare it to the next largest defense budget, China....it's still 4-5 times larger than what they spend or something. Does anyone think China's military is small? The point is we're not in an arms race anymore, increasing it every year is pointless. It's just adding bloat that the majority of republicans have no problem ignoring when they complain about the budget or big government.

I love how republicans and conservatives claim to be against increased government interference but have no problem with them banning same sex marriage and would not mind if they blocked Syrian refugees from coming into the country. Or whatever else.

Gun rights defenders are also silly, claiming that the government wants to take away guns because they plan on takin action against the citizens. Rather, some who think that, as I rarely see people claim that or share meme pictures that say something like that.

Ahh, good call, I didn't think of looking at each country's military budget. Which is information readily available on wikipedia. At least by that metric it seems like the US has twice the budget of russia and china combined. Some of europe's major countries have less than 10 times the US budget...

Also true, the world is for the most part not in an arms race. Even now I don't see what major country there is for the US to go to war with. Some people seem to worry that actual full blown war could occur with russia or china.. but that doesn't seem to make the slightest bit of sense. I could see them having a minor skirmish in some remote location but that would hardly qualify as world war 3. At the moment all these guys are business partners that need each other. How long could they be at war until every market in the world crashing crushes them? Russia pretends to be stronger than they are. They are suffering severely from low oil prices and economic sanctions. It's basically certain they are too broke to afford a war. And who else is there? The US major military concern is ISIS at the moment and so far it seems like they are closer to working with china and russia to go against them than to fighting each other.

Instead of inflating the military budget, the USA should instead have the guts to kick out their brainwashed (or corrupted) highers up who are backing up military industrial corporation like Lockheed Martin (or simply changing their policy towards lobbying) with their senseless and inefficient military projects (like F35 planes) which consumes hundreds of billions $ for lesser operational results. Even worse, they endanger the security (budget wise) of some of their allies by forcing them to participate to the funding of such inefficient programs. The army's budget is going to be mostly the budget for those big corporations. I remember someone from the Pentagon (or from the defense ministery, I'm not sure) stating that at this rate, the cost of one plane will soon be equal to the amount of the entire US defense budget.

These companies get larger and larger contracts, so the budget keeps increasing every year. Does spending billions on a new jet that they don't even use make us safer? You look at the conservatives whose campaigns are bankrolled by these types of companies and it's no real wonder why they're so reluctant to cut defense spending, despite them professing to be against big budgets. Let's face it, all politicians are capable of being hypocritical, but it's the the things Republicans are hypocritical about that ends up costing the country the most.
