Why dont voters want a by the book mainstream right wing candidate, why go for the extreme evangelical or the extreme businessman with no political experience.

No he's not, he was telling the truth. I mean, GOP debates don't get high rating because people support what the GOP is saying, and I think you can make at least 20 memes per GOP debates, give or take. Plus, Trump and Cruz's ideas and the amount of infighting and cannibalizing that you so conveniently choose to ignore. Do you know how many people from other countries are looking down at America for even thinking about electing Trump? For all the complaining republicans do about Obama tarnishing US's image, the ones voting for Trump seem to have no problem with Trump tarnishing the country's image BEFORE he even becomes president.

Clinton flip flops a lot, but apparently Bernie has said some questionable things in today's debate. I forgot what, but I'm still voting for him regardless.

He won't lose all of his voters of course, but things like these will definitely affect those that haven't decided who to vote for yet. You're giving the average shmuck too much credit. I don't think they'll see it as him calling them "poor ghetto dwellers" but him "understanding" their plight or another way to see it is "people see what they want to see" As for Hll's comment (unless I read it wrong) I think he meant that he believed bern would remain neutral. Ofc I could just be jumping the gun on this and I am missing your previous interactions so as to better understand why he would say that to you IF he did indeed refer to you with that comment.

If you actually listened to what he said there's nothing wrong there, and I'm not one for white guilt or political correctness, or "checking my privilege". The devaluation of someone's opinion based on the randomness of ethnicity or gender bothers me just as much as anyone else. I'm not rich, my family isn't rich, but I can't pretend to know what it is like to live in a legit inner-city ghetto in the way he described. I've never been stopped and frisked because of my skin color or how I was dressed. I can sympathize however I wish to, but that doesn't mean I know what it's like to be Black, much less someone living in a veritable wasteland. That is the "blind spot" he was referring to in his answer to the question. Not that poor white people don't exist or that none live in ghettos. To take only that from what he said or to suggest that was his point is intellectually dishonest.

not really. Hillary has more media attention, dynasty, and being a well-known name who had an advantage from the start. Bernie's rise is due to the amount of support he gathered, which is more admirable than Hillary, Trump, or Cruz's support.

Intellectual dishonesty is a common feature of most political campaigns, that's why it's on the media and the individual to wade through that crap. But I will say that people like Sanders and Kasich have the least of it. Their views are their views, their records are their records and there's no real need to "spin" any of it in order to look better. I'm of the mind that if someone really and genuinely took exception with what Sanders said there then that says quite a bit more about them, not him.

But the other user isn't the only person who thought that. Many others, including me, thought the same about Bernie when he said that.

Ah, I figured it could also be a genuine misunderstanding. I read that out of context, so I didn't know he actually meant white people can't relate to how it truly feels like to grow up in shitty neighborhoods. But yeah, now that I know the context, I agree with Bernie. He also has a better idea of how to deal with and help people too, just as Obama seems to have. Hopefully Bernie has plans to help.
