The problem being that saying a white person who shot others in whichever quantity (by this I mean if they just shot a few to mass shootings #'s of victims) is always "forgiven" but if a person of different ethnicity did it? I'm certain if a black, hispanic or whoever else did this and weren't white, they would be shat on and the rest of the group would take flak for it too. Case in point. That piece of shit who shot the woman in... san francisco? (Sorry can't properly recall) after he did so, a lot of ignorant whites made it a race issue (obviously trump too) and how mexicans to be specific were all criminals. Whites don't get this treatment tho.

Well, why wouldn't it be blamed on mental issues? Not that it can't be a gun control issue as well. The problem is it's too inconvenient to actually do anything about it from a politician's POV.
because not a lot of shooters are mentally ill? It's usually the white people who get "lone wolf mental issues" treatment while brown people get "terrorists and everyone in the group should apologize!" or "black people are thugs and dangerous, let's make them look even worse by using pictures that make them look like criminals!"

More like, politicians are pandering to the gun obsessed citizens and don't want to lose the gun industry's endorsement/money, so they're just blaming it on a more convenient excuse. Unless that's what you mean by it being inconvenient for politicians.

Well, the mentally ill label is usually thrown around by nutjobs wanting to protect gun rights which is a pretty good indication that the whole thing is not necessarily based on actual science. It just sort of sounds true but the people who say it rarely put any real thought into it. Safe for a few notable exceptions hardly any of the mass shooters are ever actually diagnosed with actual mental disease. It's not like they are all schizophrenic or bipolar. Most cases seem to involve depression, social isolation and from what I can tell a feeling of powerlessness from shooters but... they are still just an insanely small percentage of the people who actually feel this way. In that regard blaming it on mental illness seems to miss the point of the whole thing.

And to make this even more ridiculous... Look at the james holmes case. The guy was factually a schizophrenic, actual doctors testified that his specific situation was likely influenced by his condition. It was a high profile case involving the specific thing which the media usually jumps to when tragedies happen. And instead of treating the guy as a mentally ill person, as in give him the medical attention he actually needs, he is sent to prison as if he was cartoonist evil. The whole thing surrounding mental illness and mass shootings is a cesspool of hypocrisy and misinformation (although the misinformation part is likely due to no one really understanding what exactly is going on here).

Didn't you many pages ago say that mentally ill people were more likely to be the victims than shooters?

It's probable. I have been reading a bit more on the topic so I changed my mind a bit.

Can you prove they would take their skills back to their home country? I asked for proof/stats, but you did not provide any. This leads me to believe you have no basis on what you say but sheer ignorance/brainwashing from your political party. I highly doubt most refugees would go back to their countries as long as there's violence going on.

I dont see why a refugee would stay in a country they were relocated to when their home country is free from danger. I dont see the millions of refugees becoming citizens of the countries they go to.
Children whose moms couldn't get abortions have more reasons to be liabilities and harmful to society and humanity than refugees have reasons to be terrorists. Pretty sure many of them chose to run away, that they were never kicked out but chose to run away from violence.
Why are you always assuming a struggling mom to be will run to an abortion like its the remedy to a common cold. Abortion is a very serious decision for moms to be and many dont take it lightly. Additionally with all the help centers out there, they have options to take care of their child and if they truly cant care for their child let a close friend, other family member adopt the child or an agency. All a potential mom needs is just support from agencies, family, and friends and they can enjoy life with their baby even if the baby came as a result of a bad life decision. We can avoid 1mln murders a year if supportive post birth care was offered.

If you're in any way implying that women make/made a bad life decision to get raped, then you're pretty disgusting. I hope you are not implying this. Claiming rape sounds like a bad life decision doesn't make any sense at all, and it seems like you're blaming women for bein raped.
The person who is the rapist is the one making a bad life decision. However, with the wide assortment of birth control available, how would pregnancy from rape arise if people were taking birth control measures?

You don't think people are capable of doing the same thing with white mass murders? Making it a race issue? The school-shooter, trenchcoat mafia meme that gets thrown around a lot? And besides, just because the media might treat it differently doesn't mean the justice system does.

because not a lot of shooters are mentally ill?
Based on what? :XD What kind of shooters? What qualifications do you have to even make a statement like that? Seems like you're pulling that one out of your ass, no offense.

Because not everyone is using birth control in anticipation of being raped??? :oh

Stating facts about someone means you're a big fan of them? I'm not a big fan of Obama, nor any politician, but that has nothing to do with the topic either way. Trump still hasn't gone back on it either when asked about it, so it being from 3 years ago is kinda irrelevant.
Not that. A fan because it's such a huge deal for you. I talk with supporters of other candidates and with people who dislike Trump quite often, but you're the first one to put such a big emphasis on the Obama citizenship doubting. But while it's mentioned, what are your opinions of Obama? Would you say his 8 years were good, mediocre or bad? Did you prefer someone else in 2012? Just curiosity.
He was asked about it during this election? What did he say? Did he refuse to apologise or to admit he was wrong? Maybe he's still salty.

You don't see how much of an attention-seeker this guy is? Were you even aware of him before he ran for president? The guy is media-savvy, even if it's something he thought was true, what's the point of continually speaking on it if he had no intention of influencing the public over it? Why give so much credence to the movement without hard evidence?
Well he's running for president, attention sure is a good thing right now. I actually didn't know Trump existed until he started running for president. Since then I do know about the more questionable things he did before, but would he follow an obviously lacking conspiracy theory just for attention? It seems like a waste of time.

I don't see why you would want to give him credit for perpetuating it in order to prove himself wrong. That makes no sense. That's obviously not what Birthers were trying to do either. A good result for a Birther is his election being rendered illegal and him being kicked out of office. Also, define "never cared"? He denied it whenever he was asked as far as I can recall. His campaign produced a short version of his certificated and later on when he was in office he asked Hawaii to wave their policy on not producing long-form printed versions of it and released that as well.
I'm not giving him credit, I'm just stating the facts :kappa Look he never had any actual evidence, you can't make an election illegal with unbased words alone. I don't see how anyone, especially Trump, would think that this was even a possible result. And how couldn't he expect Obama not showing his birth certificate? There's too many things that don't make sense there, but I don't think his goal was making Obama's election illegal with just skeptic remarks lmao.
Yes he denied it, but he never cared too much to quickly present his actual certificate. I guess it wasn't necessary until the event with Trump.

I brought up other conspiracy theories as an example, not making any sort of value or moral judgment on believing them or not. Just merely saying that buying into these theories have an effect on the perception of a person's judgment in a general sense. I would think that much is pretty obvious. :oh
That's what I was saying. You're comparing believing in the Obama theory to believing the holocaust never happened, and implying both should reflect on you the same amount.

Why would you "never forgive him"? How does the wall being built or not have any effect on your life? That's an aspect of the US's domestic policy that has nothing to do with Europe really. Why exactly is that your breaking point?
Because that's one of the big reasons why I like him and would want him to win. Going back on one of the large things that make up his campaign would make everything seem pointless.
The world, especially Europe, is looking at the election quite a lot. And I don't think Europe ever cared as much as it does now. There's a lot of Trump mentioning everywhere so it could have something to do with him. And imagine if he actually gets elected. Europe will watch USA like never before. At that point whether he's successful or a failure will affect Europe a lot as well, which depending on the outcome will either encourage or discourage similar Trumps happening across Europe. And as I said, the wall is mostly symbolic of a country protecting it's citizens and putting them first.

I did say "even if she does" which merely implies there is the possibility of her lying and giving her the benefit of doubt. Trump is a proven pathological liar who sticks to tales which are easily falsified... It's ridiculous.

I'd say about 30-40%, I'd say most of the satirical news shows are at least more reliable than fox news or cnn (though fox news does not even qualify as news). . The rest is from newspaper articles online or looking stuff up myself. In this case this specific video more than makes my point regardless of it being comedic... The alternative was megan kelly putting trump in his place regarding trump university being a shameless scam but that is somehow less fun.
Her being a big liar is only a "possibility"? You told me a lot about your acquisition of information, so you should know many of the great Hillary videos/articles as well.

Seriously? When the San Bernardino shootings happened, almost every news initially reported the shooters being white, probably because people are already accustomed to white shooters killing people. People shit on whites as dangerous and pushed it for taking all guns "from white people". All the articles and statements I've read during that time were quite infuriating, especially considering how the same people stopped caring once the shooters were revealed as non-white muslims. Then the muslim haters took over.
Many people push their agendas all the time, no matter if it's a white shooter or a muslim terrorist and I don't see people being forgiven.

Wait I'm confused. Aren't mass murderers mentally ill by default? Your normal person with a normal mentality would never be capable of killing people like that, so a person needs to be seriously depraved to even consider going somewhere and shooting people at random. Like the guy who went and killed children in a kindergarten. A person who is mentally fine doesn't do such things, right?

...you mean the rapists? They're already crazy people commiting a big crime when they rape someone, so I highly doubt they'd care much about proper protection and if their victim gets pregnant or not.

@xi0 dude... you missed the point... although my wording did suck and I shouldn't expect anyone to think up possibilities to "fix and understand" my posts so, my fault.

You don't see whites suffer the backlash like other ethnicities of just of 1 their people fucking up, the country doesn't turn against whites... Surely you won't deny that this is still a country that favors whites? (Before anyone jumps to conclusions, as long as they are doing a good and fair job then I don't give 2 shits which color the person who is running the country is) maybe I'm being too small minded and unfair but I don't think just because whites get a meme about edgy white guys in trench coats shooting up little kids, they are suffering the same way and that the repercussions of a white over a colored person doing this is fair.

Lol sharkbait... are you even being serious anymore? That is some stupid-ass logic. Go home, you're drunk. Pffft why should women have to anticipate being raped and take pills for this? You are one whack dude xD

@xi0, GrySun if either of you can post a link to an article that actually proves white people getting shat on a similar or worse manner than a different ethnic group then I'll eat my words. No doubt whites don't get off scot free when they do something really bad but white people aren't being faced with the consequences of losing their families and similar scenarios. Specifically to grysun, I'm sceptical about your response to me. You sure you ain't imagining this? Or better yet, which people came up with the idea for "taking away guns from whites" I feel like if this really happened then it was done by sjw's which hardly counts as the country becoming agressive against whites nor some thing to be taken seriously.

I'm going to take a step back from this and cool down. My anger over peoples stupidity is blinding me. (None of you... except maybe sharkbait)

Do you even read your links? I don't see where it points out whether refugees become citizens or not.

Better question: do you even have a brain? THERE ARE REFUGEES BECAUSE THEY FLEE THEIR HOME COUNTRIES DUE TO DANGER OR SOMETHING BAD GOING ON IN THEIR COUNTRY!!!

ref·u·gee
ˌrefyo͝oˈjē/
noun
noun: refugee; plural noun: refugees
a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.
"tens of thousands of refugees fled their homes"
synonyms: émigré, fugitive, exile, displaced person, asylum seeker;
boat people
I got this definition from Google. Holy shit, if you were the face of conservatives/republicans, people would think everyone in the group is ignorant and uninformed/uneducated. No wonder why people from other countries don't respect us, people like you are the loudest, and they judge us because of that. jesus fucking christ

at this point, I'm hopin you're trolling, otherwise you're a classic example of what's wrong with America.

Why do you always assume someone who does labor job is lazy or made bad lifestyle decision?

You started out smart, then you went back to being ignorant. Doesn't matter if they have the options to take care of their child, if they don't want to then they won't. Would you prefer moms throw their babies in the dumpster or in the river? Because you know, that happens and nothing stops the mom from doing that. I would say that's worse than abortion. Support won't help, and not friends and family members will adopt the child or treat it well, same with agencies. Seriously, you know nothing about real life, women are lucky you don't have a say in what goes on. You don't even know why women get abortion, and any knowledge you have of Planned Parenthood and abortion are wrong, likely thanks to republican and conservative lies.

Don't give me the "murder" bullshit. You lost your right to talk about babies being murdered when you are against accepting refugee children into the country when their home country is dangerous, and when you're against middle class and lower getting their minimum wage increased and better welfare.

The last paragraph has been addressed by one or two other members, so I will just facepalm at the stupidity of the paragraph.

You might actually be one of the worst conservative/republican/American ever that I've argued with/come across.

It points out that they *return home* meaning they dont become citizens of the country tthey fled too. Do you really think the refugees in the detainment camps in European countries or on the islands around Australia will honestly become citizens there?

Why do you always assume someone who does labor job is lazy or made bad lifestyle decision?
I went to a Mickey D's this weekend and on the window they were advertising that they were hiring for positions starting at $8 an hour. This is a far wage for the type of things people do at Mickey D's. The reason I bring this is up is that no hardworking America who made good decisions in life will work at an $8 hourly wage position. There is only one reason people who graduated grade school would be in these sorts of jobs and it is the reason you say, lazy and bad decisions. Its terrible that the week in news has had more places nearly double the minimum wage for the lazy.

Doesn't matter if they have the options to take care of their child, if they don't want to then they won't. Would you prefer moms throw their babies in the dumpster or in the river? Because you know, that happens and nothing stops the mom from doing that.
I would prefer if we don't use trained hard working doctors to aid in killing babies. I also would rather potential moms to be not engage in the act of killing the unborn. We deserve to protect these newsborns as its the right thing to do. Every life is equivalent. As long as the baby will be born there are resources. People already leave newborns at libraries and other places and they eventually do land in the care of loving adults .
Seriously, you know nothing about real life, women are lucky you don't have a say in what goes on. You don't even know why women get abortion, and any knowledge you have of Planned Parenthood and abortion are wrong, likely thanks to republican and conservative lies.
That is why we need more Republicans in office and at the forefront of the nation so that we can finally have legislature in place to make sure people who are taking advantage of the lack of rights for soon to be babies are unable to carry out their nefarious baby killing scheme and regime.

Because it's gross, and that entire movement was/is gross. It was put forth by elements within the Tea Party, the revivalists of the isolationist, Know-Nothing tradition. Aside from the fact that his mother moved to Indonesia when he was a kid and he lived there for a time, there's nothing to the conspiracy. Nothing outside of the paranoid and deluded thoughts of those that are racially motivated and didn't want a Black and/or Muslim president.

I don't think he's done a spectacular job, no, but he inherited a shitstorm. This is the most obstructionist congress in recent history. And no, I wasn't going to vote for McCain in 2008 or Mitt Romney in 2012. I don't see how any Trump supporter could criticize someone for voting for Obama instead of Romney.

And yeah, this article is from the summer. No apology, no admission that he was wrong. The guy doesn't even want to call the longform certificate what it is, because he can't admit he was wrong and no amount of proof was ever going to suffice. Such is the life of a conspiracy theorist.

Well he's running for president, attention sure is a good thing right now. I actually didn't know Trump existed until he started running for president. Since then I do know about the more questionable things he did before, but would he follow an obviously lacking conspiracy theory just for attention? It seems like a waste of time.
That explains a lot then. And yeah he would, the guy was a tabloid fiend and the host of a reality tv show. His entire brand is his name, making people aware of him and his lifestyle is what makes him money. If you were exposed to American media enough in the past few decades, I don't see why anyone wouldn't be at least somewhat cynical about him.

Yes he denied it, but he never cared too much to quickly present his actual certificate. I guess it wasn't necessary until the event with Trump.
Then you don't understand what the movement was for, plain and simple. If there's no real means to an end, why would it even exist in the first place? And even if that's your line of thinking, that reflects on Trump's championing it even worse. :lmao

Why would he? It wasn't up to him to show his long-form birth certificate. His campaign produced the short-form birth certificate during the 2008 campaign when the question first came up. People don't have those in Hawaii, only the short form. He had to request it from some state official in order to even make a copy, and he did it ahead of his reelection campaign in 2012 in order to try to put the issue to rest....obviously it didn't really completely, nor would it anyway.

That's what I was saying. You're comparing believing in the Obama theory to believing the holocaust never happened, and implying both should reflect on you the same amount.
No, you attempted to diminish it and said him being a Birther has nothing to do with anything else he says or should reflect on what he stands for. That's what you said that I took exception with in the first place. And I really wasn't, I merely brought them up as examples of other on-the-fringe beliefs.

But while we're on the topic of comparison, the Birther thing might not seem as ignorant or severe, but that's because something like open antisemitism isn't as tolerated in any circle, whether right or left, as racism is, especially when it comes to public figures and politicians. If Trump came out and said the holocaust never happened, he'd fuck himself over big time, a la drunken Mel Gibson. Instead he said he didn't think Obama was an American, and he was invited on TV and given speaking appearances in front of crowds to spew this garbage. He was accepted for saying it. This is why he switched parties and started hanging out with mental-midgets like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and Mike Huckabee... because being a member of the Reform Party in the 80s didn't earn him enough attention and he supposedly didn't like being associated with David Duke (:4head) and Pat Buchanan.

The world, especially Europe, is looking at the election quite a lot. And I don't think Europe ever cared as much as it does now. There's a lot of Trump mentioning everywhere so it could have something to do with him. And imagine if he actually gets elected. Europe will watch USA like never before. And as I said, the wall is mostly symbolic of a country protecting it's citizens and putting them first.
If you spend any amount of time looking into what would need to happen in order for it to built, you'd see that whatever symbolic use you think it has isn't worth it. How much of his success or failure is actually going to hinge on building a 2k mile long wall where 350 million legal border crossings happen annually? How much private property does he need to take away from American citizens in order to build his useless wall? How many courts does he need to tie up with pending litigation over it? How much of our tax money is going to go to building it once Mexico refuses to give a dime towards it? How is he going to seize Mexican citizens' assets when the Mexican government refuses to pay for it? How much will need to go towards repairing it after the drug cartels inevitably compromise it?

If this is your breaking point as a supporter of his, prepare for disappointment. it won't even be completed by the time he's up for reelection, much less before he's out of office...if it ever even gets off the ground in the first place.

I don't think you understood what I was saying either. I said it happens to all people, regardless of what race they are. Not that the repercussions are equal (or even quantifiable)...life doesn't work that way. It shouldn't be happening at all, so trying to put forth a notion about white people in pursuit of some sort of equal opportunity generalization doesn't serve anyone well.

Well, trump gave some details regarding how he plans to have mexico pay for the wall. I guess building something that would be objectively useless and have virtually no effect on illegal immigration is not enough, he has to ruin relations with one of their key partners while doing it...

All I saw was something about stopping Mexicans from taking their money back home...or something equally retarded.

What puzzles me most about trump is if he does all this crap knowing it hurts the country's image and balance and proceeds regardless of the consequences or if he actually believes the shit he says and thinks he can "save" america.

It points out that they *return home* meaning they dont become citizens of the country tthey fled too. Do you really think the refugees in the detainment camps in European countries or on the islands around Australia will honestly become citizens there?
Are we talking about US or are we talking about European countries and Australia? I was under the impression we were talking about the US.

So, if a successful executive with a high company got laid off because his company had to close down, is it his fault he's working at McDonald's? You have to be absolutely stupid, ignorant, and not know the reality of life to even think that everyone or majority who have labor jobs have it due to laziness or bad decision. People like you who think like this are embarrassment and poisonous to the society's improvement.

Being a fast food cook isn't as easy as ignorant idiots like to believe. Have you ever worked in a fast food restaurant? Have you ever cooked for people? If you have cooked something other than ramen, you'd know it's not easy to make food for customers, especially customers who will act like cheap assholes. But then again, you actually support Wall Street executives who do criminal acts, so I'm not shocked here. You'd probably steal, cheat, and embezzle companies and people, probably go after poor people the most. I'm betting this based on you defending the "high brain powered" employees who have done bad things and actually made bad lifestyle choices.

No, it's good because it means people can make ends meet and have more money to spend, which helps the economy. Unless the profit margin is thin, there's no reason why prices should go up, and people higher up can decrease their pay without sacrificing anything. Starting out at $8 is okay, but they should have the opportunity to see their wage increase if they do good work. If the pay is low and job conditions miserable, why would any employee in any industry bother to do a good job? Especially when bad people like you judge them based on whatever bullshit anyone's told you?

You need to learn that not everyone has the same chances. People who live in poverty have to work at least twice as hard to have the same chances as people who live above the poverty line. and it's been proven that wealthy people have all the advantages as they have money to throw at everything and bribe people.

That is why we need more Republicans in office and at the forefront of the nation so that we can finally have legislature in place to make sure people who are taking advantage of the lack of rights for soon to be babies are unable to carry out their nefarious baby killing scheme and regime.
So you prefer we use barely trained, suspicious doctors to help women get abortion? Again, you have no right to talk about protecting lives or saying lives are equivalent because you're against accepting refugee children. If you truly believed in that, you wouldn't be against giving refugee children safe place to live. Any argument you make is seen as double standard/hypocritical. If you want to protect the newborn babies, then go hunt for the babies that are abandoned by their parents first before trying to save fetuses. Interestingly, I see most pro-lifers not care about babies after they're born. Guess only fetuses have souls and deserve to live, huh.

if you read the news, you'd be aware that many people kill their babies or abandon them. That's far more fucked up than abortion.

No, republicans will just take away the rights of women, homosexuals, and eventually almost everyone but wealthy people. I don't want more republicans in the office, most of them seem to be bad people. At least democrats seem to do something for people, even if they aren't that good either. Again, no one has the right to talk about protecting fetuses and claiming they have a right to live until they start caring about babies that are already born and are willing to accept refugee children into the country.

All I saw was something about stopping Mexicans from taking their money back home...or something equally retarded.
Maybe that's all that's needed to stop Mexicans from coming into the country. I don't support that though, as much as I dislike the idea of Mexicans or anyone else sending money back to their home country.

When have successful executives with college degrees, retirement funds, homeowners, tvs and timeshares ever been in low brain powered jobs like Mickey D's, these folks would be more likely to be managers or district offices for other companies. The lowest on the ladder I can see them is like general manager at a superstore.

Your situation sounds more fictional and extreme.
Have you ever worked in a fast food restaurant? Have you ever cooked for people? In high school I worked at a fast food restaurant to appreciate the value of earning ones own money. From my two years there I can assure you that there was no brain power used at the job as everything was follow the books, over the burger stands there is diagrams telling you how to assemble the sandwich, timers go off telling you went fries are done or when the burgers need to be flipped and more. People are just mindless drones there as everything is basically done for them, they just need a person there to actually do the food assembly and burger flipping and such. It also isnt hard or difficult to count money, hand it to people, and put food on a tray and say have a great day. Anyone believing the fiction that working in fast food is hard or difficult is clearly being deluded by the lazy.

The well educated and hard working people who made it up beyond low levels front end drone based jobs deserve more and deserve being paid more. Getting mad at Wall Street executives, who, by the way, help our glorious country run well, are needed and not evil like Sanders keeps wanting to say. Perhaps they are evil if one is from a state in which there is just forest and wilderness and some fishing which provide little to nothing economically for other states.

Whats wrong with going after the lazy, it would help get them from being lazy.

people higher up can decrease their pay without sacrificing anything.
That doesnt make sense, punishing the hard working and successful is against the core of being American and the American dream. If pay for the lazy goes up then pay for the hard working ought to go way up too. Its only fair.

Starting out at $8 is okay, but they should have the opportunity to see their wage increase if they do good work. If the pay is low and job conditions miserable, why would any employee in any industry bother to do a good job?
No, they should instead search for a different job after getting more trained and a good education. You shouldnt be trying to save a retirement fund, pay your kids college tuition fund, and have a Ford Focus, while working at Mickey D's or Walmart. Instead they should be going to school and working to better themselves.

Anyway your point also suggests that people in low pay jobs arent hard working. They are lazy. If the pay is low why would they do a good job? Well the answer is right there. Maybe if they were doing a good job they would be happy with their pay and they would get a quarter raise every now and then?

It doesn't seem like democrats are doing something for people, if they were, then legistlation like the anti-gay/trans laws wouldnt have passed or been on the table.

I think there are questions about whether that idea is even legal in the first place. Plus, how do we do that when Trump also wants to deport every illegal immigrant? Not all illegal immigrants are Mexican anyway...and a huge portion of them don't even get here by crossing that border. The Wall isn't going to stop illegals from being inside our borders.

What I always wondered is what is done or what else could be done on part of the US in regards to the jobs illegal immigrants get. That is basically the root of the problem. Of course, the consequences of the US actually solving this issue would be nothing short of catastrophic. Suddenly the US would have all those immigrants without access to income (or at least less income) and you'd have god knows how many third world country economies outright collapse.
