They dealt good damage against ISIS.Well, the US and rusia have stood at opposite ends of the syria conflict there. I am not sure russia has been that much help against isis itself. And there is very little that suggests the drone strikes have not actually hit isis in general. In context what the US could do in regards to russia is actually switch sides, support asad and then move on to ISIS with the help of russia and asad.

Well it's unfair for me as a non-US citizen to say this, but I'm super pumped to see the Commander in Chief in action next year, to be honest. There's some data that Brexit increases intolerance by 40-ish percent, how about Trump's presidency? would USA be more resilient? or the amount of gun owners would be increased in the next 4 years?Vice versa. The people who voted for trump are now going to get what all the hatemongerers have sowed.
Sadly that also includes the people who did not vote him.
Let's see when the jobs are coming.
It stops being entertaining for me when actual people suffer, even if some of those are themselves to blaime for their naivety.Well it's unfair for me as a non-US citizen to say this, but I'm super pumped to see the Commander in Chief in action next year, to be honest. Either way, the events which are going to be unfurled in the next 4 years is going to be 'entertaining'
Ah yes, but if this is a Doom, it's something they brought upon themselves. That's the best thing about election. It stops being entertaining for me when actual people suffer, even if some of those are themselves to blaime for their naivety.
The only positive thing i can see in that is that europe might start to get its shit together once they see what comes out of this.
I don't underestimate their power, i underestimate their brains after this election.Ah yes, but if this is a Doom, it's something they brought upon themselves. That's the best thing about election.
Don't underestimate the power of people.
The dollar is the pillar of the worlds economy, the US printing 20 bil shouldn't have that sort of effect. Remember the bailouts? How much volatility did that add to the US dollar? And even if that adds volatility, that is not something the US suffers. Because they trade in dollars. It's other countries that do not print dollars which would have to deal with that.Unless he's idiotic enough to be unaware that printing more money might increase the volatility of USD, I doubt it. Though in Trump's case, never say never.
thanks to Donald trump´s victory, now I have classmates posting "Fazer Portugal Grande Outra Vez" in hats on Facebook. It stops being entertaining for me when actual people suffer, even if some of those are themselves to blaime for their naivety.

Ah, definitely, this is every democrat's fault in the end. I should have been more specific, as in, what could hillary have done to win.DNC got what they sowed by 'rigging' the Primary. If Bernie were the Democrats' candidate, chance the race is going to be more unpredictable, maybe.
No way the drone is not hitting at least a handful of civilians. Even its mere presence is a great disturbance for many people.
Rightwingers across europe will have their funtime now. For a time.thanks to Donald trump´s victory, now I have classmates posting "Fazer Portugal Grande Outra Vez" in hats on Facebook.
They tried to minimize the Trumpmania and demonized his supporters, when I hear people like De Niro in his speech about Trump it just makes me feel annoyed reallyYeah, looking at how people tried take down trump is.... It makes it seem like trump was inevitable. Even in hindsight, what else could have been done? People attacked him with what he said on a daily basis and pointed out his flaws on the spot. Honestly, the only conclusion I can draw is that hillary was just that bad a candidate.
Well, that's pretty much why Clinton lost, no? when her supporter being so smug about the average decency and intelligence and whatnot of USA, they'd underestimated the amount of silent Trump voters.I don't underestimate their power, i underestimate their brains after this election.
Frankly speaking, Hollande is so incompetent I don't know even know where to start... But Sarkozy and the rest are not any better, the best option so far would be Macron but he did not announce if he's running for president or not yetThis leaves Merkel and Trudeau as one of the last rational worldleaders left (and parts of the EU), and that is horrible.
Maybe add Renzi, maybe add May? Hollande is gone soon, anyway. In any case, not many people are left.
So far Europe could lean onto the US whenever it got into a crisis.
These times are over now.

The stagnation that is being felt by industrialized countries is being felt worldwide and has been ongoing now for nearly 20 years. Government policy is partly to blame, but it doesn't explain why incomes are stagnating across the world. Most of the capital accumulation is the result of developments like technological advancements that have displaced workers and weakened bargaining power. This trend will accelerate as technology continues to advance.I don't think it is a lie, he's an anti-establishment in the eyes of the population because first of all his speech is raw, second of all never had a political career before and does not come from a family well known for that for example (Bush, Kennedy etc)
Heck, I'd say it just shows how the Republican party handled this better, Trump is not liked and many republicans spoke against him (especially those who represent the establishment), yet they let him run as candidate at the end because for a simple reason: he won. I have the feeling that in the Democratic party, they really did everything to screw Sanders and push for Clinton, really everything
From a normal point of view, he's anti-establishment, while his true nature is that he's not really that... In the end, what matters is how people perceive him, and majority of them do perceive him that way. The question that should be asked instead of bashing the Trump voters is: Why did they identify themselves with him ? Why vote for him ? What is the message behind this vote ?
I truly disliked how media in Britain for example bashed Brexit voters, how some people called pensioners are being idiots and useless, but you gotta ask yourself: Why did they listen to people like Boris and Farage for example ?
This is not just a trend in the US/Europe, it's happening everywhere and the roots of the problems is economical to begin with, the majority does not really care if a dictator is ruling or not as long as there's stability and economical prosperity, for decades now the economical prosperity is not happening anymore, GDP continues to grow but the population does not reap the benefits of that, heck inequality is rising and politicians are thinking more about their careers rather than tackling these issues. A growing disdain for a large portion of the population (mostly working class, example in UK where I was a bit shocked calling average people as chavs, white trash, nearly turning them into subhumans. I thought such things can only happen in Morocco and the likes lmao) from the elite (involving media as well)
I feel we're reaching the limits of the system, and soon it will have to change
He's idiotic enough, but his party is even battier. If they had it their way, we'd be tightening the monetary supply instead of expanding it. That idiotic thinking is what has contributed to the depression that is still wreaking havoc across Europe.Unless he's idiotic enough to be unaware that printing more money might increase the volatility of USD, I doubt it. Though in Trump's case, never say never.
I live in Trump country in the swing state I live in. From the dozen people I've spoken with, the #1 reason they voted for Trump was to spite the Democrats. A couple of them have even benefited from Obamacare, but they don't care. They don't mind other people losing their insurance (even with serious conditions!) because they "deserve" it. Talk about callous, and idiotic in thinking it's great policy when it undermines social stability.Vice versa. The people who voted for trump are now going to get what all the hatemongerers have sowed.
Sadly that also includes the people who did not vote him.

I would be more optimistic about liberals in the US than in europe in the long term. Of course, I could be wrong, but from what I can tell liberals at the US make the bulk of millenials and I would venture the guess that a trump presindency would get them to rally. If millenials and the younger generations are liberal-progressive then the future of the US is inevitably liberal-progressive. Trump is a setback, not a lost war. In turn in europe it seems like the group that is surging make up far right wingers. Though I am not sure of their demographics of course. In the end it comes down to what groups and where actually engage in political activism of course.Rightwingers across europe will have their funtime now. For a time.
The difference is that the liberal forces in europe , at least western europe, are FAR stronger than in the US.
If they actually get their act together and learn from prior mistakes they got a chance.
And they have to if they want to keep power.
That is the narrative, but it is not true.Well, that's pretty much why Clinton lost, no? when her supporter being so smug about the average decency and intelligence and whatnot of USA, they'd underestimated the amount of silent Trump voters.
That is indeed a very big problem and I doubt a universal basic income is a definite answer for this, the more technology is advancing, the more some job are lost... and created as well, which requires new skills that may not easy to develop. Modern day workers need to always keep improving and improving their skills no matter whatThe stagnation that is being felt by industrialized countries is being felt worldwide and has been ongoing now for nearly 20 years. At least in my country, the big problem we'll be facing within the next ~10 years is jobs such as truck driving being displaced with self-driving cars. That'll put several million people out of work while only enriching a very select few. Solutions such as passing a universal basic income to compensate people and passing a VTA to fund it may help, but with Republicans, that's a nonstarter because (1) it raises taxes on their donor base and (2) redistributes money to potential Democrats.
.
Ya. They won't listen to reason and they also won't get better when democrats are nice to them.I live in Trump country in the swing state I live in. From the dozen people I've spoken with, the #1 reason they voted for Trump was to spite the Democrats. A couple of them have even benefited from Obamacare, but they don't care. The future, yes. I have said it before (and i agree with you on this) that i see this is a last horay from rightwingers because their numbers decline.I would be more optimistic about liberals in the US than in europe in the long term. The sad thing is that it is not baseless. It will always be funny when Conservatives and Trump supporters are condemned and generalized by (some of) the left built on their baseless fears and bigotry against all who think differently than them. They can't even practice their own values of peace, love, respect and the like. It's ridiculously hilarious and quite sad.
I've got to hand it to Hillary. That speech was good and I'm glad she pointed out what she said. We can do this together even if we voted on different parties. We're in this together, man.
Well, the left does not criticize the right for their values of peace, love and respect and whatnot though. They criticize bigotry, racism and a number of other isms. Maybe I am missing some context but how is being critical of the conservative's wing attitude towards immigration and minorities the same as criticizing their values of love, peace and respect? It will always be funny when Conservatives and Trump supporters are condemned and generalized by (some of) the left built on their baseless fears and bigotry against all who think differently than them.
