Probably a mistake on your part, but to clarify, he's a US Senator, not State. State Senators are in the State government.
Bah, I keep getting the two mixed up.
Nonetheless, it's a shame that he got re-elected. However, we did elected a Pharma crook Rick Scott twice, and he's done a horrible job; for someone like Rubio to win, I shouldn't be surprised.

I found this bit interesting regarding the polling. I think it helps put the whole "polling error" thing in context.

And another really revealing one:
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/clinton-couldnt-win-over-white-women/

Democrats were probably banking on hillary getting overwhelming support from women. Which would have actually guaranteed the election. Of course, she didn't count on a significant amount of women thinking she is a bitch. Which in hindsight should be weird because a number of women are very vocal of their visceral hatred of her.

As a war criminal, an Obama part 2, email deleter, and part of the political establishment, she faced an uphill battle that voters seemed to have take for granted. Woe be to those who thought tht voting for the 3rd parties or not voting at all sent a message, all it enabled was a Trump white house.
That's just it though. How on earth could America whittle it down to these two clowns?
Jeez...

I'm really surprised that Trump won the election. I remember hearing that he bad-mouthed a lot of people, like mexicans, muslims, dark-skinned people, gay people, women...?
Without the support of such a big amount of people, how could he win?
The only explanation is that they voted for him regardless, but I can't imagine giving my vote to someone who dissed me before.
Maybe they thought it was just a joke. That seems possible, as Trump has always looked to me like an internet troll with the kind of stuff that he said. He was having fun at the cost of everyone else. I really don't like him. :/
While I don't live in the US, it does kind of worry me that he got the vote in spite of the things he said. I'm definitely not looking forward to seeing his smug face on tv in the future (yes, we do care what happens over in the US). That Erdogan asshole is bad enough appearing almost every day spouting the worst of things and almost making me puke out my dinner. And while Trump is no dictator he certainly likes to talk like one. -.-
It seems like a ton of countries are reigned by people with ego issues who constantly have to try putting others below them to appear big and strong and now the US are among them. X___x

My question here would be, why would you think trump is better? So far when trump speaks of peace and whatnot he means something like friendly relations with russia. Which so far only seems to be enabling them to do whatever they want. More so, what he has said about nukes, his comments on torture, his comments on what he plans on doing with ISIS.... No matter how you look at it, trump has done nothing but promise an exceptionally aggressive foreign policy which involves enabling russia, stop supporting US allies and actual cruelty towards US enemies.
That's what I'm afraid of. My reply was to Shionoro's post where he said USA will be a spectator in foreign politics. Which is something I'm completely alright with

No, they never played it fair. They tried to stop Trump but he was too popular to be affected by rigged primaries.
At least no republican candidate had 500,delegates before any votes were cast in primaries.

he didn't say the US will be an spectator, he said the US will be useless. Those are two drastically different things. Trump has not offered the US will withdraw. He has offered the aggressive foreign policy I mentioned with the context of "we are gonna win now" and that the US has to make its enemies fear to mess with the US. Which I would argue is basically what happened through the reagan and bush years and as we all know that not only doesn't work but does the exact opposite of making US enemies fear the US (it's exactly that sort of attitude that created the terrorism problem to begin with). Add to that trump's plan to cozy up to russia and basically enabling their own aggressive and intrusive foreign policy.

Well, look at that. Donald's trump list of enemies before his term even starts! This man is gonna rewrite the two bit dictator manual. Via reality tv stars! Brace yourself US.

All those sad pathetic little dems protesting and whining. At what point do they accept the results I wonder.

It'll soon be time for everyone to unite behind president Trump. They better sort out their petty little grievance by then so they don't stand in the way of America's future developments.

He said:
Now noone will intervene when terrorists, dictators and other forces grab chunks of the world. Great.
We have a docile pet as american president, basically an US Jelzin now.

I don't know how that can make you glad.
Which basically means US will do nothing. I'm alright with it. I think US intervention makes things worse.

But based on what Trump has said so far, I think his foreign policy can be very aggressive.

The results are the results - Due to the wonderful craziness of the American system, Trump can win the presidency even though he lost the popular vote.
But just because they didn't get their desired candidate, doesn't mean that they should just roll over and take it like a bitch.

In fact, now is the exact time when they shouldn't just accept their fate.

Whining may not be so useful/productive, but protesting is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy.

If you don't protest injustice (in whatever form you see it) when it rears its ugly head, then it is likely that you will see more of it - as the people in power (Trump/Republicans/whoever) will see that they can get away with more and more.

If you care about your country, you have to be willing to protest what you don't believe in - passively accepting losses doesn't help you/your country/democracy/freedom/patriotic-American-music-combined-with-exaggerated-flag-waving.

See zimby, your "in what ever form they see injustice" is dangerous thinking. You want every citizen to pursue their own warped and deformed idea of justice? Don't you see the problem there? Especially when the preceived injustice isn't even there?

The US have their system for a long time, where popular vote doesn't matter. Many people complained that it's a bad system over the years, said even Trump himself. But that's simply the current system. Their protests can let it be known that many dislike that system but it won't change the outcome that Trump is president.

And lets be real here. They are not protesting the election system. No, they're just mad they lost. The same people wouldn't protest now if Clinton won. So the injustice you want them to pursue is just them being salty.

Sure, I agree that many are just protesting cause they lost.

But you think the system ever will change without protests?

Also, I don't think it is particularly dangerous thinking.
Everyone should be able to protest whatever they like - the protesting isn't the issue, the method by which the protests occur may be (should someone decide that they want to go shoot Trump, for example, I'd argue that is a pretty terrible method of protesting) - in fact it is a necessity for a healthy democracy (which I am not sure that the American system is) in my opinion.

It falls quite clearly under the whole 'free speech' business.

A good number of them ate what the brainwashed media intel to vote against Trump, at this point having so many of them protest like this is the very consequence of at least a good chunk of the very stupid mainstream media, the type that was calling Trump, "X" and "Y" lies that were unjustified, the same media that jumps into conclusions and gets bad results, the same media that tries to trap the people talks for proving some prestablished, goal they have been setting up. The alternative media is rising up because the mainstream media kept going on and going on with a lot of BS and they lost a lot of credibility, if the dems are angry about this result, they can protest but if they turn the whole thing into a riot they desserve to be put in their place, just like Salty republicans would have if they had lost the election and started riots, Califrexit is quite the joke as well.

US Mainstream media is in need of some severe reforms, if they ever want to get any credibility rising lol.

Oh don't get me wrong here, I have nothing against protests. But when the idea behind protests isn't to make people aware of what they're protesting, but their goal being pursuit of some injusitce it will always end badly. The protests will either turn into riots with vandalism everywhere or worse, people taking things upon themselves(like your assassination example...
So these people that are protesting now wouldn't be satisfied if they suddenly changed the US voting system, they want a change in the result. And pursuing such a change is injust in itself, invalidating their whole protest in my eyes.

I fear this is gonna happen dawg. I've been saying that Hillary was as a trash candidate as Trump but I don't think any civil war among white against people of color would happen cause she's not as conversational as Trump, even though she has her crooked ways too. Feels like we just took hella steps back as country which is really sad cause I felt like we came far in some aspects compared to other countries. I've seen reports of KKK running rampart down south and having their meetings out in the open now. RIP America

Well BLM as also been going edgy for a while now, I'd say america would've had civil war eitherway, if hillary had won, since the american people would've most likely gone violent with new refugee wave clinton would've allowed, assuming they or some would go as wild in the US cities as they went in paris.

Eitherway I expect the alternative media outlets to get a huge rising after this results with better improvements to the mainstream media being required to get back their credibility, had it been hillary winning the media would've most likely gotten worse I just hope the US media wakes up and starts educating people to prevent this getting out of hand, there's also going to exist a huge disgust between trump's "endorsements" and the protesters, so I hope pence can try to help maintaining at least some level of civility here, he was the one saying to trump supporters not to start riots afterall.

I am not alright with that, the US will leave a big power vacuum under Trump.
We won't see him being aggressive in foreign politics.
He already talked to the president of mexico and, by now, keeps his mouth shut.

Well to be honest trump shouldnt be focusing too much in foreign policies when there are other stuff he needs done internally right now, he should honestly let putin deal with ISIS right now and focus on the constitutional rights being followed, taking out obamacare and focusing on the new trade agreements and deportations of ilegal criminals, military wise he shouldnt get so focused right now on syria because it's gonna be a waste of more money and he needs to gather a lot of intel about a lot of stuff there before making any new movements last thing trump would want is make a mistake there and stop his good relations with russia, the US military generals have been acting a bit too edgy recently, they need some serious stand by time (and some need to seriously be replaced, like the idiot that was threatning to beat the crap out of russia and thus starting nuclear ww3

I would have accepted it if a possible president sanders would have said 'i will concentrate my efforts domestically'.
I would not have liked that but okay.
But trump is going to wreck things domestically if he does anything close to his planned tax cut, soo....

And thing is: Putin does not deal with Isis. It is not happening. it means the US let's down its kurdish allies to fight against them and let's Russia have a field day in ukraine and the middle east. That is very bad.

It is also very bad that he will shut down obamacare, but that is something any rep woulda done (sadly).

US don't need to get involved in every conflict. They have enough problems of their own. Other countries should try to take care of their problems.

If Trump doesn't interfere in middle east politics then I'm happier with him then I'd be with Clinton. Leave a power vacuum. Let things take their course. Stay out of it as long as possible. Because US involvement haven't made ME stable in last 50 years. Instead it made a lot of them to hate US. Time to change the policy.

But I do not think that's what Trump would do. I think he might be exact opposite of what you're saying. And chose the military solution at the slightest hostility
