Apparently did not stop him from buying a gun last year. Besides, if gun control laws were stricter and upheld better, I'm sure most mass shooters would have to try harder to get guns illegally if they weren't eligible, like having a history of domestic violence. And didn't the government under Trump make it possible for more people even with disabilities to buy guns? Oh, he even
purchased four firearms in the last four years. Enforcing them would likely have helpppped, but so would have stricter gun control laws that limit others from buying guns as well.
Exactly, and yet people cry for more regulations and removing people's rights, as if a piece of turd criminal is going to abide by them. We have enough in place right now. The problem is that they aren't being enforced or properly followed. There is no stricter a law than the man not legally being able to buy them. A law isn't going to magically make the criminals behave, it only impedes us, the legal, law abiding citizens.
*the problem was that he lied to get his guns, and that was possibly because where ever he got his weapons, they didn't properly follow existing laws to vet him.
A minority incident? This isn't even the second mass shooting we've had, and one of the worst mass shootings in history killed at least 300 people. And according to sources, most of it were bought legally. Stop exaggerating, your rights aren't removed from a stricter gun control, all it does is make it harder for people to get guns. If you don't have a bad history and are mentally fit to own a gun, then you'll get it.
In comparison to the millions and millions of gun owners who use their weapons legally, a nutbag shooter committing mass murder is a minority event. You don't punish the innocent for the guilty. I know that's one of the Democratic values and one commonly felt by millions not only within this country but world wide, but it doesn't make it right no matter how much it is discussed. I myself won't let fearmongering and criminals take something as important as my rights away from me or my fellow Americans.
You don't seem to understand what I mean here I think. This man
legally wasn't allowed to purchase his weapons already. His discharge and criminal background was already supposed to tell sellers he was not allowed to buy those weapons. The issue comes from the source, who did not
follow the law
properly. If his seller had properly followed existing laws, this could have been prevented.
And please, it isn't an exaggeration. Telling me, or any other American, that I must forfeit my right to weaponry—to be armed in
any capacity (from pistols to assault rifles) to protect myself from harm, including from the government—because some nutjob went on a killing spree is wrong and absolutely stupid. And it solves nothing.
Oh, it makes no sense? That's exactly what Trump and his supporters are doing with Muslims and black people. Few Islamists commit acts of terrorism, and somehow all of Muslims are responsible for it. Most mass shooters are white who own guns, but they're somehow lone wolves with mental issues, and not all gun owners are apparently bad.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Don't generalize us all because some loser hick hates black people and you caught sight of it. You are doing the same thing you are condemning those Trump supporters for. Or do you not see that or are you simply okay with it? The difference here then, between us, is that I don't approve of it or practice it myself.
And there's a difference from removing our rights, which we are
owed by our government as
legal citizens, and temporarily suspending
immigration travel from extremely hostile zones known to breed all kinds of terrorism and violence. We have a right to be protected by violence brought on by immigration just as we have a right to be armed.
If this man committed his act of violence because he was an atheist that hated Christians, and it is very clearly so judging by his FB posts, than he was a terrorist just like the Islamic terrorist just days before him. It doesn't matter what color his skin is, despite what you and so many others seem to believe. Trump supporters hate terrorists, no matter their color, their gender, their orientation, their creed etc. I know I certainly do.
Trump lies and mistreats people. He's been accused of sexual assault by multiple women and was charged with raping his ex-wife. And on top of that, beauty pageant contestants have said he entered into their dressing rooms without invite or warning, and there is an actual recording of him encouraging sexual assault out. He's also cheated businesses by paying them less than what they agreed to for their services. He and his son-in-law have dubious connections to Russia as well, and didn't their foundation have a connection to Saudi Arabia as well? And Trump also calls Warren Pocahontas and bullies people on Twitter. And on top of that, he lies and lies despite proof. Even a source biased towards him have said he exaggerated, and most proof he or his supporters offer are usually bullshit. Trump is an inept idiot, and he's done nothing to prove otherwise. And where's the proof that Hillary would have started a war with Russia? Especially when Trump almost caused a war when he ordered an airstrike against Syria, I think? But other than that, given that Trump is Putin's puppet, it'd be hard for us to go into war with Russia.
Accused? So what. Bill Clinton has been accused time and time again of sexual assault. Hillary Clinton has been accused of things time and time again. Accusations are all that are against him, and the ex-wife that originally said she
felt he was raping her (defining it later as "she
felt violated" and hadn't meant it in the "legal sense" at all) in their marriage (Ivana) has come out and retracted her accusations altogether. Since when did being accused of something account to guilt?
The simple fact is that Donald J. Trump has fought for minorities for decades. You can dig through his history and see it, where he fought in Florida for the rights of blacks and LGBT+ and Jews, from where he has given work positions to women who deserved it where other businesses refused to because they happened to be female, or from when he has done so much for the downtrodden and suffering (slipping $100s into people's hands, like workers, or taking their spots so they can get a day off) etc etc.
I also didn't see a soul complain prior to him calling out Obama, as before the MSM, including those who "hate" him now, adored him and practically begged him to run for president. The game changer for them was pointing out the failure that was the Obama admin.
Warren likes to lie and call herself a Native American and continues to do so when there is proof she is not one, so I don't care if he calls her out on her disgusting bs by calling her "Pocahontas" to remind her of that very fact. It is disgraceful what she has done and continues to do.
And so what? He stands up for himself on Twitter. I respect that he doesn't take the crap the MSM throws at him quietly like some good little slave. He's also a "no nonsense" guy, which many Americans appreciate, such as when he calls MSM out for their lies (like their recent koi garden lie) or points out Obama's failures and lies, or Hillary Clinton's corruption that she is allowed to get off by over and over again.
I think I've made it clear the fear the left has for any discussion held with a Russian doesn't interest me, as it neither proves anything or is itself damning. Continuing to paint it as if it is criminal itself is not an argument.
Unemployment rate started going
down when Obama took office. Trump is just stealing credit. As for DOW, I won't pretend I understand it, but I did think it was ridiculous that Trump was blamed for DOW tanking. Thought it was kind of normal whenever there was a new president appointed. but what did Trump do to get such high DOW? Jobs?
So it just took 8 years for Obama's "magic" to take place over the suffering he caused and coincidently started to mega skyrocket the
moment Trump was elected? That's not how it works, as usually a president does not have much impact on our markets. They may be able to craft way for improvement, or downfall, but that's only because there hasn't been big policy changes in a president for a very, very long time. Trump is a radical difference to what we have had for a while now. That's why whatever was gained under Obama took until his second term to actually show for him, because he himself wasn't making a sizable impact on the market.
We haven't had this kind of growth since 1929 (I might be a few years wrong on that) and it just isn't something that comes from a slow burn post-term of the prior administration. It has to do with new policies and trust, which analysts have contributed almost
entirely to Trump's work and the immense trust/confidence in him from businesses (which convinces them to invest and invest and keep on investing, which skyrockets the market). Trump bringing back businesses and jobs, and killing business regulations and vowing to kill more business regulations have contributed to the upward trajectory of the DOW. In detail, this means his stimulus plans, infrastructure spending and deregulation have helped to propel our economy, though one can still argue that it could plummet as we have very little dealings with this kind of growth, I guess.
No one can deny there was an improvement under Obama from Bush (at least, not anyone with a head on their shoulders), but it was frustratingly small, almost irrelevant as it slowed and slowed until it basically stopped or when it hit a high and fell very far. While fewer people no longer reported unemployment his last term, more reported to be on Food Stamps and other governmental aid or, sadly, living with relatives and being unable to find the supposed jobs that were created.
Under Trump, beyond confidence surge led growth, he's brought in multi-billion dollar corporations back into the United States, and with it
hundreds of thousands of jobs each returning business, resulting in a job growth of 1.5 million in just the first 9 months of his presidency. That's not even considering cost cuts he has been doing, for example, the Boeing deal, or the deals he's been making and is still negotiating.
Usually it falls a little when a president is elected I think, but for Trump it fell like a few points (when it was expected by nearly everyone to plummet and never rise again) and then
immediately started to skyrocket the night of the election, and went on to grow even quicker when he was inaugurated. Just google what analysts have to say about it. Hardly anyone denies the growth is the result of Trump's work and his admin anymore with support from a nice climb from the global community. The few who do yell that it is Obama's doing though have very, very little data to prove it, citing only improvement under his watch that does not match the pace we see today or the reason why it could be contributed to a slow burn we saw under Obama. The reason this is happening now is because, as I said, Trump's policies and the sheer fact that businesses have more trust in him than they did Obama, so they're willing to part with more of their $$$.
The country is getting worse because like I said, the racial divide is getting bigger, and Trump is fueling the divide with his lies and double standards and silence. He's also taking credit for shit like the lowest unemployment rate and most jobs created when that's really Obama who deserves the credit. And for all the love for vets, what has he done for the homeless vets and impoverished vets? For homeless people? Looks like he'd rather waste billions of dollars for a wall that won't do shit. I can provide more examples, but I'll wait for your response.
Let me start by saying I thought this was going to be about economics. That's what I meant, as that's what I assumed you meant by "no improvement" or "things getting worse".
Anyways, there's no racial divide except where it is invented at large (e.i, MSM telling the black community that all cops and white people hate them). The majority of people could care less what someone's skin color is and I find it hard you don't know that. I'm not saying racism isn't still a problem (though it just might be twisted as such), just that there is no huge racial divide like the left keeps painting it. People can
feel something is real but it doesn't mean it actually is.
Ah, well, Obama did lower unemployment, but the growth we're getting right now is entirely Trump's doing. And the wall will definitely improve immigration. The mere mention of it threw us in a record low for illegal immigration. Some of our current "wall" isn't even a wall either and other parts it is just wide open space. Illegals have no trouble walking across. A big, nice ole' wall will definitely keep the bulk of 'em out of this country.
At this point, I'm 100% sure you're another typical Trump supporter who whines about liberalism and blames others for dividing the country when it's actually mainly Trump supporters and conservatives who are, from what I've seen.
So am I supposed to just nod and repeat your words that we're all racists and Trump wants to stake blacks up and burn Muslims alive or something? You can make your claims all you want and believe just that, I won't stop you, but if you are going to attempt to pass it off as fact, please bring more than your words and your limited, biased experiences.
I could just as easily tell you every Democrat I've met is a racist turdbag who thinks black people can't even figure out how to use a computer or find a voting station, or I can give you the dozens and dozens of videos of Democrats committing mass violence, politically and racially motivated, since the election but I wouldn't be bigoted enough to claim that's what they all are (or the majority of) or that their actions are "dividing" this country from their racism towards whites.
The only thing really dividing people is politics and fearmongering.
Also, I didn't read your post about safe space here, but if you were talking about how this forum is a safe space for anti-Trump people, then that's quite ironic as Trump himself believes in safe space.
Perhaps you should read it then?
