In USA though, that's the opposite, it seems. Hillary was clearly better than Trump, but she still ultimately lost. Warren was better than Biden and most other Democratic candidates but she still lost.

But I think our theories align? These women were voted in because they're good at their jobs.
What do you think about the whole Biden situation going on right now?

The whole rape allegation? Now it's innocent until proven guilty so I don't want to assume anything but if it is true, then this is literally the worst situation in a US election from my memory (maybe Clinton-Trump was worse).

But I haven't seen any proof as of late.

That's because the mainstream media is mostly ignoring it or blaming it on the Russians. I'm not saying it's not that, but the fact that the same crowd screaming bloody murder over Trump accusations are almost completely silent regarding these is cringeworthy.

Wait what? They're blaming a rape allegation on the Russians? I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Well that's not surprising as it's always been the case. CNN and MSNBC will be the first to criticize Trump but brush everything under the table for Biden or portray Biden as the victim.

Found several twitter activists going through her tweets from the past to search for grammatical errors which prove that she is a Russian asset. I just think it's hilarious how they claim to be tolerant and oppose any kind of border reinforcement because "muh racism" but then Russia is still the big bad where everyone who doesn't agree with party policy is a Russian asset (like Tulsi) while they gobble Winnie the Pooh's dick down and say thank you.

Same with most of the #metoo movement that are silent about all of this as opposed to the Kavanaugh allegations.

Not surprising. Both sides are hypocritical and a bunch of idiots.

I believe Reade, but I've heard dubious things about her, especially her praising Putin. Despite all that though, I've no reason to believe something DID happen that she was not comfortable with. Biden is also extremely likely to lose because majority of leftists and victims of sexual assault will not vote for him, me being one of the exceptions as Biden and Dems >>>> Trump and Reps. However, people felt screwed by Bernie losing to Clinton, especially after the WikiLeaks, and for it to happen again, after the other candidates endorsed Biden and Warren was silent, was likely enough to seal Trump's victory. But then again, it's not like I'm acquainted with majority of the leftists, I probably see and know like, maybe 5% at most.

Trump and the Republicans trying to take away protection for transgender people (as well as the LGB community in general) really motivated me to ensure Trump does not win. That's on top of them taking away women's rights to their bodies or punishing them if fetuses die for one reason or another.

I also recently tweeted about how we should stop supporting Biden and support Bernie instead, and that it wasn't too late. He'd actually have a chance of winning unless Biden found a way to convince the youth to vote for him. I'm not sure if promising Medicare for All is enough at this point.

I'm a bit confused. You believe her but you have no reason to believe something happened?

From the outside, it certainly seems like Trump has the election in his pockets. Bernie was done dirty again by the establishment and they chose to push a demented Biden. Sure his cabinet can rule the country well and his vice (definitely a woman because that's what matters) might take over soon once Biden is inaugurated but he is IMO even weaker than Clinton and that's something. In the end, people will not be voting for him, but voting against Trump and that is not enough.

I meant, I have no reason to doubt something did happen.

Exactly, but for some reason people still think he has a chance and are trying to push him, and if he loses, you know it'll be Bernie and his supporters' fault somehow. I also doubt Biden's cabinet can rule the country that well, but at least they'd do a better job.

I believe the rich people behind the Democrat party want to keep the status quo. Trump is preferable when it comes to that compared to Bernie. It's better to gift the presidency to Trump (which is what a Biden nomination is) than get some actual change with Bernie.

That'd make sense, but also, it kind of doesn't because they'd still have the power and can just veto anything Bernie does or says.

I wouldn't underestimate the message a Bernie presidency would send. The winds of change would be blowing. A president alone can't do shit without Senate and Congress following along. A Bernie presidency would send the message that the majority of people is ready for systemic change and a systemic change can get dangerous to those rich folk. Also they can't directly veto stuff since they pull the strings through donations and powerplays in the background. His first step would be to tax the wealthy and hopefully curbstomp Wall Street as well as balancing the budget. We are currently heading straight to another financial collapse and this time it might affect the real economy on a much grander scale than 2007. Actually it might be good to keep Trump for a bit longer so he can be the face of the crisis.

Bernie being president would be a pretty clear message BUT that won't change a simple fact: Bernie will have virtually no allies in the senate and congress. Bernie's policy positions are well more popular than he is given credit for when it comes to congress and senate members they are almost violently unpopular. And this is largely because pretty much the entirety of congress and the senate is inherently, comically, corrupt in this regard. bernie would be basically proposing tax hikes to:

1.- people who will specifically pay more taxes.
2.- People who take campaign donations from people whose only interest is to see their taxes stay the same or lowered.

The above applies largely to both parties.

Another bit worth considering is what policies tend to get bipartisan support nowadays. Generally its 3 things (though there can be more depending on the circumstances): The first would be tax cuts, the second would be spying on people and the third would be increasing military budgets. Bernie opposes basically all 3 of those... Meaning he will almost invariably get bipartisan opposition on them.

Climate change wise.... democrats are technically for regulation in this regard BUT mainstream democrats are usually extremely weak on this sort of thing. Over concerns of what it will do to the economy (and their donors).

A bernie presidency would be rocky, filled with a crapton of infighting within bernie's own "allies" and the odds of him getting something done are low at best. The only upside IMO is that there will be at least a chance for meaningful change... contrary to joe "nothing will change" biden (who is still better than trump though).

There is also bernie's main policy position... remove money out of politics. Being president won't actually give him the power to actually solve this issue. This issue is solved via a constitutional amendment... Being president would give bernie an unparalleled chance to get the message out on this but it won't actually give him the power to simply pass legislation on this. Add to that, the congress and senate members who basically profit from this would be the ones to have to vote in favor of bernie's amendment.

It'd be a wild ride but under any reasonable scenario a bernie presidency would have literally everything stacked against it.

Then they get in line with what the public wants or they get voted the fuck out. Or if they're Democrats, they risk going against their party's leader. Of course many more will do that than those in the GOP who are against Trump. For better or worse, politically, Democrats are more open to independent thought.

Agreed, that is absolutely what should happen. but for whatever reason people in the US, in general vote against their own self interest. Well, that, or bernie's positions which are popular to a majority of people simply aren't a priority for voters.

Also... how do you suppose this can play out? Say bernie gets elected under a congress and senate comparable to what the US has now... Bernie is going to have an absurdly hard time passing any legislation, whether it is legislation too green for most democrats or too communist for any republican. How does that look going towards midterms? Or reelection? Ideally of course bernie. In the end a bernie presidency is both a gamble and an uphill climb with every odd stacked against it.

I find it hard to imagine that Bernie getting elected wouldn't also result in the GOP also losing the Senate. Congress shifting in opposition to the President is something that usually happens during midterms.

But honestly, I'm not really sure how that would play out. But I don't think you just abandon the idea of a Bernie presidency just because "he won't be able to pass anything". That always seemed like a neo-lib talking point to me. Let the establishment fuck things over for everyone, why should the average person give a shit?

I am not trying to convince anyone to abandon bernie. I do believe in policy positions that support climate change reform, tax reform, financial reform and removing money from politics. My point is simply that even if bernie gets elected, he will have opposition within his own party to get any of that done. Mainstream democrats are either straight up against this reforms and if not that not willing to go nearly as far as bernie. Universal health care is a relatively popular position and even then biden won in spite of running against that... Even warren flipped on this (though this probably hurt her).

If Bernie's surge of popularity in the previous election as well as continued popularity this election, as well as Hillary losing and Biden getting criticized, hasn't sent a message, then a Bernie presidency definitely will not. His rise alone has sent a message that people are ready for a change, but the Democrats and Republicans do not want this.

Well, they can still veto stuff as they do have some anti-Bernie supporters, and majority of corps and wealthy people are not going to be supporting Bernie or are keen on him becoming the president. The money will still come in, and they can demand more for opposing a popular person of their own party.

Fuck no, Trump would fuck things up even more than he already has. If we had Hillary, then this whole crisis could have been handled better, and we wouldn't be in as much economic dires.

Well sure, perhaps. My point is that isn't any more of a reflection on Bernie as it is on those that oppose him. If what he proposes is popular with voters, it'll have negative ramifications for Democrats that insist on opposing him.

This whole thing with people at the US voting against their own interest is so absurd... that bernie sanders has invariably been one of the most popular politicians in the US for.... years... and years... and even then democrats do their absolute best to not have him get the nomination. In any other sane country you'd have parties begging someone as popular as bernie to run. In any case by now a bernie presidency simply won't happen, he will definitely be too old 4 years from now to run.
