Given how Biden is doing right now, I don't think Texas will care to give Dems a chance.
what do you mean?

How long until everyone who supported Joe Biden.

Pretend it never happened.

:toc
What? pretend what never happened? Supporting Biden or Biden being President? You can support a candidate and disagree with some opinions. And no matter what, i am sure anyone who speaks against Biden who supported him in the past will still hold the belief is miles better than Trump.....

Biden's not doing a good job with financially helping people, from reducing the stimulus to limiting it to who gets it. And the $300 is half of what Repubs gave us last year. Oh and can't forget that more immigrant kids are detained than under Trump.

the monthly children checks 300$ per month for kid, is actually impressive though

Yes, that i can agree upon. But besides, the relief in form of checks is not the right way in my opinion. But Biden has rolled out the vaccines in time and efficiently dealt with the situation. Its still slow compared to the rest of the world but pretty smooth and quick otherwise.

That's probably one of the very few positive points about his presidency

It's slow compared to some countries. The majority of countries still have no real access to it. Even a country like Japan has only recently started vaccinating frontline workers and won't be vaccinating senior citizens until April. Which is likely why they're banning international visitors for the Olympics in July given that they're not expecting it to be available to the general public at least until then.

That being said availability in my state is still a mess. Both of my parents have been eligible since the end of January but getting an appointment is a nightmare.

Don't get me wrong, it's good that production is exceeding the goals he set, but the rollout still isn't where it needs to be

IIRC the US was already vaccinating about 2 mil people per day... And most of the countries that are arguably doing better also happen to be pretty damn tiny. I suppose the US could technically be doing better but at least to me it looks pretty damn decent in general. I am curious as to what vaccination rates will look like a month or so from now... When more of the vaccine skeptic side of the population remains unvaccinated. I actually expect news like "Vaccination rates reduced because people don't want the vaccine".

Some countries is right, not the rest of the world. Thank you for correcint me...

Not sure what state you are in but here in California, its going amazing apparently. I am still not eligible but having heard what others say, it was quite quick.

Yes, except maybe India but again they are manufacturing a lot of those and that helps them. Credit to Biden's administration for this.

I also read Arkansas has banned abortion.... damn, Biden should've reserved the neanderthal thinking comment for them.

I'm in Maryland. We have a GOP governor who was mostly not stupid when it came to the pandemic, though he randomly decided to open everything up except large facilities to full capacity despite only 10% of the state being vaccinated. But hey, he kept the mask mandate so I guess it's something... right?

The vaccination situation on the other hand is all over the place, seems to even differ from county to county. Shots are going out but you basically have to get lucky to get an appointment online.

I think that's ok. If everything is open for limited capacity (indoor shopping), and 6 ft distanced dining, thats OK too. San Diego had that in September when i was there and apparently they never had stringent lockdown like the bay area.

but the thing is, outdoor dining turns indoor because restaurants are adding tents or whatnot. And in many areas, employees aren't monitoring how many people are in a store.

It's not limited though, only big venues like arenas or stadiums are. Everything else is normal, except for the mask mandate. Sure, restaurants might seat less people in in order to accommodate social distancing rules, but there's far too many places that ignore these things. It can't be left up to their discretion. Not waiting some weeks to see how much more of the population is able to be vaccinated and instead lifting most restrictions right away just seems stupid at this point.

No, i am not talking about outdoor dining. Even indoor dining was open. Brunch places were filled to capacity with wait times in San Diego. They did check temperatures i think but thats all, and that too, not everywhere.

Yea, that's bad but the question is, how long has it been like that, and have the cases gone up?

It goes into effect today. And there's still the unknown factor of when the British variant becomes dominant whether cases will remain where they are or not. But I guess determining that won't be made easier by our cueball moron Governor opening up before then. 🤪

I like this as a good scientific explanation for why masks are effective.

They did check temperatures

If its true a person can be infected with chinese corona AIDs and contagious 1 week before developing symptoms.

I don't get the point of temperature checks.

Biden is doing really well so far. I wonder if democrats succeed in reforming the filibuster (by whichever beneficial way). If they at least are able to restore voting rights, I think the midterms will look a lot better than they do right now.

I don't see it that way.... Biden looks fairly mediocre so far. He has pretty much bailed on several campaign promises and his thing about working across the aisle has done nothing but comically backfire on him. And that on proposals which are popular even republican voters (not that republican senators or even voters will care about that come the midterms). Biden needs to start looking so mediocre to his voters so that they show during the midterms.

Biden has not been doing that well, other than by liberal/Dem standards. He's broken promises and has failed to deliver most of what he promised to do. You'd have to be blind to think he's doing a great job when in reality, he's probably going to lose the midterms.
