You can treat them specifically on policies while questioning other things... Greg Abbot was right in opening up Texas, even though it seemed like a bad idea at that point.
some conservative media have questioned Fauci from the start, and only a handful left leaning media have started questioning him now in regards to the origin of the virus....

Also, whom would you identify as a progressive republican in terms of policies?

Fucking no one, lol. I'm just saying, I know there are Republicans out there that aren't against gay marriage, trans rights, abortion, and the like... but will vote for the party that as a whole, hates both of these things.

Hm... maybe Romney isn't such a monster... I dunno.

yea, gotta give credit where its due... Romeny sticking to his principles is commendable....

True, most republicans are socially conservative, some things cannot have middle ground.

I genuinely wonder what goes through the heads of people who listen to people like Charley Kirk, Trump, Margorie Taylor Green, or Mitch McConnel and not think they're bad people. How do you keep being conservative after this? And if you're not gonna explain yourselves, why argue against people on the left in the first place?

My thoughts.

George Floyd was attacked by democrat police.

In a democrat city, presided over by a democrat mayor.

In a democrat state.

...

How can anyone look at this and say: "this is great evidence for right wing conservatives being racist".

Its always left wing democrat run regions that show the most racism and prejudice towards minorities.

...

I don't. I don't care what he thinks any more. I want actual conservatives with arguments for what they believe and why they believe it to come in here.

I promise I won't treat you guys the way I treat Sanity Check.

At least not until you start acting like Sanity Check.
I think on here, that's very rare, based on my experience anywhere.

good luck with that... even moderates get labelled as conservatives by liberals and vice-versa... and the liberals can be horrible as well outside mangahelpers.... i personally dont label myself as either, at best left inclined.
it depends. If they have too many views that align with conservatism, then it's hard not to consider them conservatives. But even liberals are sucky, if we're going by Biden and Clinton supporters.

Also, whom would you identify as a progressive republican in terms of policies?
The only one I know of was Teddy Roosevelt, over 100 years ago. He cracked down on businesses harder than any politicians and helped address NYC"s housing issues. But otherwise, I don't think you can have a progressive republican if they support right wing republicans because right wingers are the opposite of progressiveness.

Wrong. Centrist dems hide their racism, while the right/republicans are very open about it. Racist left wingers are rare, if not very rare.

how is the police force democratic? not sure if Derek Chauvin was..

Problem is, many moderates/centrists tend to side more with conservatives in stuff like guns or give in to them more easily, like Biden keeps doing.

Oh I don't know about that, but I probably did hear of him and thought he was a good example of how some of us are wrong about republicans.

I wonder how many Democrats actually support the filibuster. I suspect several are hiding their support behind Joe Manchin's and that Arizona senator's shenanigans.

Who has said this?

You won't answer, so I'll deal with the question of "why racist things happen in democratic cities" instead.

It's because systemic racism doesn't require the practitioners of it to be racist in order for IT to be racist.

The right is very open about it?

The way some of you talk about the right, it sounds like you've never known anyone on the right.

You seem to pay them zero attention. I bet none of you can name a single thing anyone on the right has said in years. Yet would presume to know everything about them?

Democrat city has nothing to do with this point.

Democrat city is relevant.

Democrat states like new york and california were the worst with pandemic lockdowns. Killing the most jobs and business.

While right wing conservative states like texas and florida refused to shut down their economies due to the pandemic. Preserving the most american jobs and business.

Democrat states did the most to defund and cripple police in their regions, while the right wing did the opposite.

These trends matter, am I right.

George Floyd had a statue built to honor him. As a "shining example" of right wing conservative racism, I would guess.

Its ok if none of you remember you view George Floyd as an example of "right wing" racism.

I know none of you remember how enthusiastically you supported open borders only a short time ago.

At an unveiling ceremony Wednesday, Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka said Floyd "represents a lot more than himself at this juncture in history."

"All of the activity that took place around this country because of the untimely and vicious murder of George Floyd, and all the activism that sparked out of it, is worth us pausing and paying attention to," the mayor said.

Newark is New Jersey's largest city and majority of the community is made up of people of color, with 50 percent of the population Black or African American.

"The statue was to cause them to continue to remember why they marched during such a horrific pandemic. And I didn't want them to go back to the status quo," he said. Pinkney said when he called Watts, the artist knew he wanted a statue of George Floyd before he even had to ask.

Why do you keep saying "right wing racism" instead of just racism?

Remind us. Show us our support of open borders.

EDIT: Why am I not surprised you listen to Tatum. This is the same guy who blamed the Tulsa massacre on black people.

They are, and that is a fact. You don't have to agree with it or like it, but it doesn't change the fact.

I know a lot about the right, far more than majority of the right know anything about the left. I have many right wing friends, especially on FB, and so I see their bullshit thoughts and articles they share. Unlike the right, I also observe things and not let my bias cloud my conclusions, which may not always be the case.

The right hate homeless and refuse to help them, but they hate refugees even more. As soon as refugees became a topic (in which the right were consistently wrong about everything, because bigots are usually wrong), the right all of the sudden pretended to care about the homeless and said we should focus on caring about helping them out, and then after the refugee topic died down, they went back to ignoring and hating on homeless.

Many of them call Obama a racist (which is false, unless he can be racist against Black people) and said Trump is stopping racism (which is also false because hate crime against people of color and non-Christian religions increased). The right will also cry and whine about not having freedom of speech and cancel culture when in fact, they get away with almost anything while those on the left are more likely to pay the price and are more likely to be silenced by the right, like Colin Kaepernick.

I don't presume to know everything about the right, I know I know most things about the right. Majority are screwed up and love double standards and contradicting themselves.

So... your argument is bringing up cities where population in those cities are very high? Because I've done research few years ago, and red states see far more gun violence than blue states, or at least states with lax gun control see more violence.

And if you actually did do proper research, then you'd see blue governors in many areas actually increased funding to police. And if I recall correctly, Texas did shut down, and then tried to reopen and saw cases rise up again, so they shut down again. Same with Florida?

Trends with correct info matter. Your trends do not.

Those statistics have nothing to do with covid.... anyways, regarding hte crime, the stats are till 2019 only. The defund narrative only started after 2020.

Look, i agree with you that defunding the police is not gonna work, but you fail to link democrat government with geroge floyd's death. Are you saying that the funding was cut and that has caused an increaes in crime? You gotta share stats for that...

Also, i have acknowledged that Texas and Florida did well to open the economy sooner. Cali could've done better but they prioritized safety which is critical considering their population density. Yes, it could've opened sooner but not the lockdown was still important. Businesses did get affected, small ones specially. But the economy here runs significantly on jobs that could carry on with the lockdown, most of them even thrived in the scenario so the safer bet was to keep the lockdown.

You need to consider all those points when comparing against Texas, whose economy is largely oil based.

i dont disagree with the point that the statue for George floyd is fair... but a statue itself is a waste of money... its an archaic way for glorifying people in history.... again, i would say the same for Gandhi, Lincoln etc.... if it has to be a statue to represent victims of a crime, i think Floyd is the best symbol but i hope this doesnt spark countless statues of other victims as well..

Welp, it's a fact that members of law enforcement and military generally lean towards the conservative end on the political spectrum. When it comes to police brutality I don't think the issue is clearly not political affiliation. It plays a part but the issue goes further than that... At least seeing how the police acted in 2020... To me what seemed evident is that the police force at large in the US is mostly comprised of people with chief wiggum level of competence. Which would be a thing regardless of political affiliation considering how little training the police in the US gets compared to other countries. Compound the lack of training with the police having that many more duties than in other developed nations. And to that you add there being so many former military in the police even though their background and training is actually detrimental to police jobs and then on top of that the "bad apples" which as far as I can tell is a bunch of straight up mentally ill lunatics who have wet dreams of people breaking into their homes so they can shot them. The police is pretty much set up to fail. And this is bad not only for colored people... Colored people get hit disproportionally by this but the fact is that this hurts society at large.

I don't want to leave you hanging. So this is what I'll do.

I'll post a few news articles in this thread that led me to think the way I do.

And we can see your reaction to them. :toc

Starting with.

...

You don't even have to read the articles, just look at the titles and connect the dots. If you can.

The "defund" article is almost a year old. There's also nothing wrong with allowing people who claim to be communist to work in state jobs. We had at least 3 governors, all (but maybe one) republicans, claim covid was a hoax before selling their stocks before it took a nosedive. I trust communists more than I trust republicans.

True Pundit seems like a right-wing source, so thus it's bullshit. I wish people, especially the right, knew what "woke" and "cancel culture" really meant instead of using it because they don't like something and want to whine about it.

Don't pretend you care about Uyghur Muslims.

Yeah, women know that. Problem is, those in charge of the vaccines don't care, which is why women have to suffer the issues. Plus, doesn't the actual covid do that? Somewhat makes sense that the vaccine would too even if it's just mRNA/weakened form of covid.

No, you said "We". I asked for proof that any of us held those beliefs. Us personally.

The only reason I asked is because I had a sneaking suspicion you were generalizing us all.

Again.

Sure, but that's not why I was linking those sources. Sanity_Check claimed that it was created in response to right wing racism. Not everything the left does is intended to "own the Republicans". That's why I was putting in bold the intentions behind the statue.

What about Stephen Crowder? If I remember correctly what I thought about him a long while ago, he's a dumbfuck just like Ben Shapiro and most other conservatives.

What about Stephen Crowder? Well, he's the BIGGEST conservative on youtube peddling racist, homophobic, transphobic propaganda like... Ben Shapiro and most conservative grifters. But his claim to fame was that meme you see often the "Change My Mind" table with the guy waiting for people to approach him in public so that he can debate them about conservative politics (that's Crowder). A real "Owning the libs with facts and logic" type guy. Except, the people he debates are random people who aren't trained debaters, who don't have a tablet full of info in front of them (like he does). It's basically an easy way to score points for conservative thought and this is how he got huge on youtube. He gave millions of people like Sanity Check shitty arguments to use on facebook basically, lol.

So one would think that such a guy wouldn't mind debating Sam Seder, an actual educated, debate experienced left-leaning politics youtuber as well right? Since Stephen Crowder is such a tough, logical Chad and he's not afraid of anything? Right?

Right?

Well... nah. Nah man... nah.

This vid explains the history leading up to the Sam Seder debate, the history of the two, where the term "Cold Feet Crowder" came from and... the glorious debate. Get y'all some popcorn.

Now, you could be asking "Why show this ninjabot? Why would you show us a conservative grifter who claims to be a facts and logic focused conservative debater, dodging a debate from a respected, renowned left leaning debater? This isn't politics, why is it in the politics thread? It's just making fun of a conservative getting owned! That's mean!

It's because these people like Crowder are the major source of political information for very, very large swathes of our American population, and I want you guys to see why there's such a huge bias against conservative thought in media, news, academia, and the entire nation at large.
