please support candidatees who believe in

UBI
$15-$25 minimum wage

I say since my part time job is only $9.50 an hour
I hope you're supporting both regardless of your own situation. You shouldn't have to be affected to care, given how so many people are affected.

Almost everyone on the right sold out and work for the left now.

There aren't as many famous & real right wingers as there used to be.
Based on what? If anything, there might be few people pretending to be right because they know it'll get them views and money saying things that right wingers love to hear. But almost no one on the right would even think about working for the left, a group that they despise so much.

I bet there are more famous right wingers than there used to be, though I can't tell you if they're all genuine or just see it as an easy path to clout.

Based on what?

I've seen it for many years from everyone people think are on the right wing.

Pick a name or source. I'll see if I can remember some left wing narrative they pushed.

They sneak left wing messaging into their content.

"Watching the news is depressing and has a negative impact on your relationships and work."

"The person that cares less in a relationship has all the power."

"Worrying about the deficit and job markets is a waste of time and energy, our saint elect politicians exist to prevent you from enduring the hardship of ever having to think or know anything."

"Jesus was a socialist."

"Mao and Stalin weren't bad dudes, once you got to know them."

:toc
Idk, I've really never heard a right-winger referring to Jesus as a socialist, nor them being a Stalin or Mao apologist. Maybe I hangout in the wrong places :oh

The others... I have no idea why you'd characterize them as a left wing messaging

Jesus Was A Socialist
12/25/2016

As people around the world celebrate Christmas, it is worth remembering that Jesus was a socialist. Of course, he was born long before the rise of industrial capitalism in the 19th century, but his radical ideas have influenced many critics of capitalism, including many prominent socialists and even Pope Francis.

Pope Francis has consistently criticized the human and spiritual damage caused by global capitalism, widening inequality, and corporate sweatshops. Last week, he blamed the “god of money” for the extremist violence that is taking place around the world. A ruthless global economy, he argued, leads marginalized people to violence.

In 2013, he released a remarkable 84-page document in which he attacked unfettered capitalism as “a new tyranny,” criticized the “idolatry of money,” and urged politicians to guarantee all citizens “dignified work, education and healthcare.”

That was a narrative they tried to push around 7 years ago.

Many "right wing" endorsed this. :toc

I have a good memory sometimes so I remember things like this, which most probably forgot, years ago.

President Donald Trump Treated With Remdesivir, Regeneron ‘Antibody Cocktail’

Syndicated Local – CBS Los Angeles 10/3/2020

WASHINGTON (CBSLA/CBS News) — President Donald Trump was transported to Walter Reed Medical Center aboard the Marine One on Friday after sharing through social media that he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus.

The White House said Trump was being treated with an experimental drug cocktail.

The president’s physician, Sean P. Conley, released a memo Friday saying Trump received an 8-gram dose of Regeneron’s polyclonal antibody cocktail “as a precautionary measure.”

Along with the experimental drug, Conley said the president is also taking zinc, vitamin D, famotidine (a medication for heartburn or acid reflux), melatonin and a daily aspirin.

The White House released a statement from Trump’s physician, saying he is doing very well, and has also added Remdesivir to his treatment for coronavirus.

...

Incidentally, zinc and vitamin D are emerging as two of the best easily obtainable, over the counter, treatments for corona.
Is there a point to this? Zinc intake has been a quack treatment for covid along with hydroxychloroquine since it was first suggested as a treatment. Vitamins and minerals aren't treatments for diseases. Other than mineral or vitamin deficiencies.

The Role of Zinc in Antiviral Immunity

Abstract
Zinc is an essential trace element that is crucial for growth, development, and the maintenance of immune function. Its influence reaches all organs and cell types, representing an integral component of approximately 10% of the human proteome, and encompassing hundreds of key enzymes and transcription factors. Zinc deficiency is strikingly common, affecting up to a quarter of the population in developing countries, but also affecting distinct populations in the developed world as a result of lifestyle, age, and disease-mediated factors.

Abstract
Zinc ions (Zn2+) exhibit antimicrobial activity against various bacterial and fungal strains. The partial dissolution of zinc oxide (ZnO) particles releases Zn2+ ions in aqueous suspension that contributes to the antimicrobial activity of ZnO. In addition to the activity of the soluble zinc species that is common with water-soluble zinc salts, ZnO combines two additional mechanisms of antimicrobial activity that supplement its activity as preservative in topical formulations: generation of reactive oxygen species and by direct contact to the cells walls.

Zn is known to have antibacterial properties, although the mechanism by which it acts was unknown. Here, the authors have found that ZnII competes with MnII for binding to the Streptococcus pneumoniae protein PsaA, a solute-binding protein that transports MnII into the cell to manage oxidative stress, among other functions.

But your memory couldn't establish that the author isn't right-wing? Up until the 1960s, Catholics were often universally Democrat. What I'm getting at is this is absolutely not a right-wing talking point just because the Pope says something.

Do you think Jesus shouldn't be called a socialist? If you have to transpose what he taught to modern life, what would be a more appropriate label?

There's a pretty big stretch between zinc and vitamin c being treatments for covid and the immune system needing those to function correctly. Funnily enough, the first abstract mentions zinc deficiency... As far as the microbial bit, that has zero relevance to covid.

If its common for the average person to have a zinc deficiency. With zinc commonly being a neglected and crucial component to having a fully functioning immune system.

Wouldn't the average person gain significant benefits in fighting COVID and disease by taking zinc as a supplement. :toc

Would it help fighting covid? Obviously having a normal-healthy immune system would help just as it would with any other disease. Does it make sense to frame this as " easily obtainable, over the counter, treatments for corona. "? Obviously not. That's either willfully ignorant or disingenuous.

I feel compelled to once again ask... do you even read what you post? The articles you posted are not even evidence of what you said. The articles mention zinc deficiencies... As in, you provided evidence for the point I made earlier: " Vitamins and minerals aren't treatments for diseases. Other than mineral or vitamin deficiencies. ". So...um... thanks?

Most people do not have "normal-healthy" immune systems due to a zinc deficiency.

But don't forget COVID-19 is a virus. Supplements like zinc carry anti-viral traits.

(Note the big bolded text at the top of the quoted scientific paper that says zinc is "Anti Viral".):

Further down in the same source it says:

This review summarizes current basic science and clinical evidence examining zinc as a direct antiviral, as well as a stimulant of antiviral immunity. An abundance of evidence has accumulated over the past 50 y to demonstrate the antiviral activity of zinc against a variety of viruses, and via numerous mechanisms.

Is that better? :super

Anyways if any of you ever want the real facts on anything involving politics or COVID.

You know who to ask.

I highly doubt it. From what I've seen, right wingers are still right wingers, from their inability to understand economics to bigotry, they're still right wingers.

The pope is repeating word for word the same marxist, left wing, ideology.
That's not a left wing thing, it's a common sense thing, and it shouldn't be partisan.

Even if that were true, it's irrelevant. It's not accurate or logical to frame zinc as a potential treatment for a virus because taking a supplement of it would help people with zinc deficiency basically get back to normal. For zinc to do anything resembling what you mention zinc would have to have a positive effect on people who do not have zinc deficiency. However what science generally tells us nowadays in general is that people without deficiencies don't experience a benefit from taking additional vitamins or mineral.

Further down in the same source it says:

I'll do you and even better one: The full text of the abstract! (dun dun DUN)

Consequently, zinc status is a critical factor that can influence antiviral immunity, particularly as zinc-deficient populations are often most at risk of acquiring viral infections such as HIV or hepatitis C virus. The therapeutic use of zinc for viral infections such as herpes simplex virus and the common cold has stemmed from these findings; however, there remains much to be learned regarding the antiviral mechanisms and clinical benefit of zinc supplementation as a preventative and therapeutic treatment for viral infections.
So... that reads pretty much like if you have a zinc deficiency then taking zinc will help deal with said deficiency. Outside of that what you have is however many hypothesis combined with "welp, he is dying so it can't hurt".

Here is an article that pretty much explains the situation with vitamins at least:

"My object in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism." --Karl Marx

Atheism and anti capitalism are left wing ideology.
Why would the Pope dethrone God? And Jesus Christ would have likely agreed with Karl Marx, if we're going by how the Bible represents him. But also, no right winger is anti-capitalist, they're either too brainwashed or too selfish to oppose capitalism. ALso, why do you think the Pope is a right winger? The left aren't atheist, many believe in God and religion. Most just aren't fanatics about it.

And it's not the idea of capitalism that the left oppose, but what capitalism does. If capitalism wasn't bad for the environment and hurt people, the left wouldn't be opposed to it.

Criticizing "unfettered capitalism" isn't the wholesale adoptions of far-left ideology, let alone marxism. I doubt he'd be cool with dethroning God. :lmao

I still don't see people who call themselves "right wing" going around wearing Che shirts or shitting on capitalism... so that point remains unaddressed.

While I'd be glad to demonize the Catholic church for any number of reasons, insisting on viewing their "apolitical" leader through an American political lense seems weird to me. They're traditionally right wing on some very specific social issues, but for everything else they really aren't at all, hence people describing Jesus as a socialist.

People tend to be of this idea that religious=conservative, and conservative has become synonymous with right wing, although that's not necessarily the case.

The black community in the US is the backbone of the Democratic party despite being extremely socially conservative in many things (lgbtq issues and religiosity).

EDIT: To clarify, I'm just bringing this up in comparison to the idea that atheism is a left wing ideology. The vast majority of the planet, not just the US, is theistic. No one's voting blue because they're against religion alone. It just turns out that most left-wing values contradict the bigger religions out there.

I wonder if this vid was made to celebrate Trump's re-inauguration on the 13th.

How'd that go by the way?
