Am I wrong here or did Putin admit to wanting Ukraine and some other countries back under Russia?
Did Vladimir Putin call the breakup of the USSR ‘the greatest geopolitical tragedy of the 20th century?’
Says Vladimir Putin once said, "The breakup of the Soviet Union was the greatest geopolitical tragedy of the 20th century."

I think life is way more complicate than that. In some places, there are certain crime that are decriminalize and or the bar is moved up higher such as thief in California. Or less police monitoring such as New York city. Resulted in more property crimes, or crimes against Asian Americans. Those things changed public opinion. Bond for example is discriminatory against poor people. But bond is there to put dangerous individuals in jail while waiting for trial. And or prevent people from fleeing the state/country. I don't mind raising bond up for rich people. But BLM for example just whole sale paid off bonds left and right can be very dangerous. It was a huge talking point of the danger of lower bond in the wisconsin christmas parade attack. So here we got public opinions and real changes toward the left in term of bond in that local place. And afterward, there will be a backlash. Things may not revert back to normal, it could go further in the opposite direction. Hell, rioting and looting may played into why Minneapolis where George Floyd died failed to do this whole defunding the police. Cops suck, criminals suck, politicians suck, people suck in general. If we somehow able to balance them all out would be good.Obviously, I"m saying that the Democratic politicians are full of shit and that they're actually not defunding the police, they're doing the opposite. It's the centrists and the right that are too stupid to notice that and think Dems are about defunding and weren't lying. They were talking about defunding for the first few months of protests, but after that died that, they did the opposite. At this point, anything short of sucking the cops' dicks won't be accepted by anyone that's not to the left of center or know how shitty the cops are.
Defunding the police is not the solution. Heck more "training" may not even be a solution consider how people viewed about those powerpoint sessions as tedious (doesn't matter what field you are in. And it didn't do anything for the Ulvade school shooting. People on the right say looks how much the cops suck, hence they need more guns for self protection. Even before George Floyd, one of my navy buddy who is black and really really don't like cop. He is huge on gun because he would rather deal with home intruder than calling the cops and risk getting shoot at himself. More guns of course, ain't the solution. I rather want a functional, professional, moral police system.
I want to have tougher penalty on police. If they turn off their body cam, punished them harshly. At this point, we cannot tolerate how body cam is conveniently turned off at critical moment. Have a new branch of government that task with keeping all other branches accountable including all public officials like polices. Pit them against each others. Remove some of these legal protection from the polices. Made their punishment even harsher due to their public role. I don't mind being harsher on crime. We can only go so far. But boy, a public whipping of these mass shooter. Hell even public hanging would do wonder to destroy any of these fantasy. But that is not the route for the USA. In norway, there was a shooting that killed 70+ people. And their max sentence was like 20 something years in jail. And their jail is like paradise compare to USA prison. The shooter, I remember complaining about how his playstation is not up to date in jail. That was seriously piss me off.
The legal system should not just about "Justice," it should also help maintain order in society. And it also need to satisfy some level of need of vengeance for the family. Or else that system would just push for vigilante justice.
