Is there anything happening in politics atm.
Seems a bit quiet on the news side of things.

You don't consider the affidavit release to be news?
eh, it is what it is.The climate crisis is getting worse and worse and we are not doing enough to stop it. Ain't that enough?
Who is "we"?The climate crisis is getting worse and worse and we are not doing enough to stop it. Ain't that enough?
It's actually not. Instead of pretending so why don't you distract from it with some obscure non-American news story like you usually do?Nope.
Same old ____.

I'm sure there's a garbanzo bean famine somewhere that deserves our attention.

99% of the population if you ask me. There is a lot we can do. Climate activism against companies is a thing and it is something that can be done or that can be donated to. It is true that companies try to deflect blame to the consumer. But that does not mean that civilians are doing enough to hold them accountable.Who is "we"?
The greatest propaganda in regards to the climate is burdening the average person while something like 100 companies are responsible for 75% of all emissions.
There's really nothing we can do.
Yeah, where's all of the prepper vids?
This looks like a good small tank setup.
Likelier? Well, not less than zero perhaps.99% of the population if you ask me. There is a lot we can do. There is a potent climate activism movement that uses law, parties but also civil disobedience to fight back. The more people that are supportive towards those movements or even join them, the likelier we can prevent the worst.
You growing hotdogs now? Here's another good one:

There's people here feel the same way, they're called Libertarians. And no, it usually has nothing to do with a "gay movement", they just don't think laws protecting children should exist and religious people should be allowed to wed whoever they want.mangahelpers.com
This is how a lot of European Traditionalists behave.... that and the whole white supremacy thing...The thing that always annoyed me about preppers was that they really yearn for "x day" to happen oftentimes. They do not really want society to keep existing but rather glorify that they could survive while millions or billions die.
Indeed, and to do that, we have options.Likelier? Well, not less than zero perhaps.
The point is that nothing will change at large unless it's reinforced by profit motive.
That simply can't happen IMO. Not yet anyways. People, especially in the US, depend upon gasoline to contribute to society. EVs still aren't implemented in an affordable and usable way to turn that tide. Going hardcore on that industry just means the costs will be transferred to the average person. For example, if you blockade the fossil fuel industry (we had very successful blockades against coal), use courts to slap them with lawsuits, turn public image against them and condemn politicians that stay inactive, that is very helpful and effective.
It is not like that. The point will never be to exchange the existing cars for electric cars. That will always be a pipedream. The US will have a hard time adjusting because the aim will be to make everything reachable by foot, bike or public transit. That simply can't happen IMO. Not yet anyways. We need cheaper/better batteries before any of that can be done. That sort of thing isn't happening as a result of protests or recycling more.
This is kind of a strawman because I didn't say call it a day. All I'm saying is that the case for optimism regarding significant change through these methods is slim as long as corporations aren't incentivized. It is not like that. But that goes beyond the point. The point is to take political action into the right direction and to have the climate lobby rival the lobbyist work of the fossil fuel industry..
In Europe, they can increasingly do that. There were some landmark actions happening recently that were heavily influenced by these kinds of actions (for example EU wide ban of selling oil/gas dependent cars by 2035).
It is about making it as hard for the fossil industry as we possibly can and putting pressure on politicians while also being constructive enough to have working relationships into politics.
And that is something that everybody can help with, whether it is via donations or protest or even just support by voice in conversation.
It is bad to try to put blame on the consumer for buying something that is bad for the climate.
But it is also a problem to call it a day because "it is the corporations and there is nothing we can do".
We can.
But that is exactly the point of a lot of climate activism, giving both politics and corporations an incentive to change. Exactly because there is no faith in shareholders and governments alone, these actions are necessary. They are ARE working. The chance of them working is not slim, they are basically near 100%. We can see the effects that the green movement (as an umbrella) has on politics and corporations. This is kind of a strawman because I didn't say call it a day. I'm aware I'm not being contstructive btw. I think they should do these things, but I have no faith in governments or shareholders to care enough about it while it goes against their profits.
The goal of any education system is not to provide education to the masses lol where would we be if that were the case? The push generally needs to be to get back to reality. American education is opposed to actual scientific knowledge about how to educate healthy, happy and creative children that it can barely be rationalized.
I am not saying that because I hate on teachers or anything like that, i just dont see the aim being an educated and curious society.
Rather, there is a lot of networking and gatekeeping help for the elite and a lot of shrugging for the rest.
