Not even slightly surprise. A significant portion of the right wing believes every conspiracy theory about liberals and the vast majority of those conspiracies are basically about leftwingers murdering, eating, raping and whichever other form of defilement you can imagine of babies and children. Grooming is the least of the insane things the right wing believes of the left wing nowadays.

I mean he USED to be a legend. Back when he was on his meds and his mom was still alive to keep him reigned in. Now he's only surrounded by people that want his money and fame to be used for their own purposes. But I don't feel sorry for him because it has been his choice not to take his meds, so his mindstate is his own fault.

I've never understood the kanye phenomenon at all. I don't think there's a single song from him I've liked so far. A few years back I straight googled what his best songs were supposed to be and ended up more confused than before. I didn't realize kanye has bipolar disorder. I suppose his behavior makes sense when he is seen through that sense. On highs he behaves like, welp, kanye and in lows or depression he finds validation in conspiracy theories. I suppose it makes sense to frame kanye more as a cautionary tale than as an unhinged lunatic (he is 110% unhinged though).

His mental health situation is a copout really and it's long been nothing more than hardcore cope by his stans. Bipolar disorder doesn't turn you into a forced-birth advocate or antisemite. His willingness to be mask-off about what he thinks can be explained by it though.

I don't disagree though do note that in my post I didn't refer to either of those things specifically. I am a bit of the idea that if you have depression or other mental health issues you are probably more likely to be vulnerable to insane conspiracy theories. Though being a conspiracy theorist is not exclusive to people with mental health issues. And most conspiracy theories almost invariably lead down the antisemite hole....

I wasn't singling you out really, but it's a very common sentiment that's out there. It's not too dissimilar from people getting drunk and being abusive or racist, and substance abuse being blamed for it.

Yeah, the issue with most conspiracy theories is that if you dig deep enough they almost always go down the same anti-Semitic route. The earth being flat or hollow is already nonsensical enough, they have to also somehow blame the coverup on Jews. There's no real consistent logical thought process going on here even without forcing anti-Semitic rhetoric into it, but people like Kanye do it anyway. That can't really be explained by mental illness alone, you already have to be capable of it IMO.

Perhaps you could blame it on narcissism that he's susceptible to these things and instead of being skeptical in general, he's convinced himself it's the Jews doing it. You can't really take a pill for that though.

He's still seen as a legend, and it seems that people think people who say bigoted things are saying it as it is, like Kanye or Trump, even though they just talk horseshit. Standom is dangerous.

It's not a mental issue. I know plenty of people with mental issues that aren't racist, misogynist, or in any way bigoted. It's just a copout by his fans who don't know a thing about mental health.
