This is good that it's proving Harris wasn't out of her depth with her claims, but bad that it's proving that Dems were being blamed for people exploiting the inflation. This means Republicans were simultaneously gaining more money throughout the inflation whiile also turning the people against Democrats. They could blame any number of price hikes on inflation and people would just accept it.

Republicans will blame immigrants and Dems for almost anything, and it works because of how brainwashed their voters are. Basic understanding of economics would show that presidents aren't at fault for everything getting expensive, but it's much better to blame Biden and Obama for their predecessors' bullshit.

I have a theory that companies also price gouged under Biden so more people would vote for republicans, thinking Biden's responsible for inflation.

Boeing has been doing poorly since before trump.. it's a company that got complacent over it being basically too important to fail. Pair that with inept leadership. Conventionally a client would by now drop a crappy supplier but there's basically no one to replace boeing with afaik.

I think it's part of a longstanding pattern for the past several decades where tons of formally successful businesses that took in too many MBA (Mediocre but Arrogant) types lost their competitive edge (e.g., Boeing, IBM, Microsoft, HP, Cisco). Google is also starting to go in that direction. Amazon has actually been fairly successful in avoiding that culture (partly due to their own internal culture being almost anti-MBA philosophy). Bottom-line is that there is something very wrong with the S&P 500 culture where investors are cheering company leadership on when it comes to engaging in activities that are literally killing their companies.

I never said guarantee: I said "potential". Don't get me wrong: I don't think anyone that was gonna vote Trump is gonna switch over to Harris just because of a Swift endorsement. I DO think there are apolitical Swifties that'll be mobilized to vote. And I think there are Democrat Swifties that will be emboldened to promote Harris among their friendgroups/family.

I know it's logical to think "No one's gonna vote for someone just because they wanna be like their favorite popstar". But you'd be surprised.
