shio hasn't proven anything though.

And you guys will care if/when Palestine supporters and Muslims refuse to support the Dems once again.

Also, I now wonder how Harris would have done if she had distanced herself from Biden. Would have definitely done much better, especially amongst those who don't understand economics or even know what tariffs are. So many fuckups after fuckups from Democrats, it's no wonder why she lost. I think she did better than what Biden would have done though.

According to one of Obama's staff who worked within both campaigns, their internals showed that Trump was on winning 400 elector votes vs Biden which is why they kept telling him to resign over and over, but Biden's inner circle refused that until the disastrous debate. So yeah, Harris did better than Biden but still it is a devastating lose. All swing states, not only the elector vote but also the popular vote. It's all gone Trump's way.

Honestly, it might have been better if Trump had lead the past 4 years and not Biden, because the effects of the pandemic were felt in the last four years which Trump with his bad handling partly owns but will never share responsibility for it, because all the American voters remember are the first two years of Trump's presidency (which pretty much was Obama policy effects as the Trump policies has yet to take effect due how slow government works) and not the last two.

In any case the new 4 years gonna be interesting to watch. Climate deal is dead, that much is sure. Lots of Indian land will be lost to oil and gas drilling that much is also sure. America will lose a lot of nature preservation areas, that much is also certain. Also now with so many Moderates having lost the primaries within the Republican party, it is pretty much 99.9% Trump's party and the remaining 0.1% sane ones will keep quiet and vote with the rest, no matter what it will be. I just hope that the Isolation policy and the coming trade wars won't be too disruptive since the world is still trying to recover from the pandemic effects, even if the stock market does look like we are way past it, the common people are not with all the inflation and slow rising wages and more and more expensive living costs or housing costs.
I don't believe Trump will be able to solve these problems, not even sure if he actually cares about solving it, but guess we will see in 2 years if the Democrats figure out how to turn-out their voters to retake the house or Senate or both or not. If not, then it might already be too late and we no longer have "US presidents" but "US imperial presidents" and I know a couple people will say that they have always imperial and that's true but only for foreign stuff, inwards a president's power was sort of limited and that limitation is now removed thanks to the Supreme Court's ruling.
Curious to see how this will evolve over the next 2-4 years.

But so far, there is zero evidence that this happened. At least you didnt present any when i asked you for it. I did present evidence that Gaza was not an important topic in this election. You can still believe it might have been, but then one might just aswell claim the election was decided because voters love abortion and hated Harris stance on it, so democrats should run on "not killing babies". It would be a lunatic claim, but one with the same amount of evidence as yours.

Yeah, and I feel like the loss would not have been that bad, or it could have been preventable, had Biden not being a dickhead and allowed the primaries to happen, among other stuff.

Possible, but I don't think Trump could have won unless he went up against Clinton again since even his supporters/former supporters did not like how he handled the pandemic.

I'm hoping Republicans won't carry out some things that they promised, like banning abortion and making two genders a law, just so they have something to run on in future elections. I wish his economic logic only affected his supporters, they deserve to lose a lot for supporting him.

Trump doesn't care to solve the issues, which could help the Dems retake something in two years. They need to find out how to incentivize the left and whatnot into voting for them, rather than going for moderates and anti-Trump republicans again. That strategy will never work, and it's not worth alienating people. Trump is going to fuck up, and Dems can use that to reinvigorate their base into making sure republicans have less power.

Gaza was an important topic, especially since it was part of what contributed to a lot of left not voting for Dems (left are not the same as Muslims and Palestinian-Americans FYI).

Either way, it is a fact that the three groups were important in the Dems' winning the popular vote the last two elections. You can say Gaza wasn't an important topic, this wasnt' an important topic, that wasn't an important topic, but the fact is that a lot of people who normally voted Dem said they wouldn't vote this year, and it resulted in Harris losing popular vote.

If you can't put 2 and 2 together, then that's on you.

Also it's gonna be interesting to see what happens to the Democrats two and four years from now, after the way the voters reacted and burned bridges with people that were holding Dems accountable but were likely to vote for them.

A lot of them stopped boycotting Starbucks and McDonald's and were openly saying they can't wait for Gaza to be destroyed, remaining Palestinians to be blasted to smithereens, and etc, something that a lot of left thought were libs' real thoughts.

I say that because I have evidence for it. Elseways I would not say it.

The only evidence I can find for a Gaza vote swing is that Harris lost 22.000 Arab votes in Michigan. Firstly, nobody knows whether all of these were lost exclusively due to Gaza, secondly that is not enough to swing the result even in just Michigan, leave alone the election. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/09/democrats-lose-michigan-arab-american-voters

This also shows that in Michigan, more Muslims voted for Trump than for Harris and more than half voted for jill stein. If a quarter of Muslims voted for Trump, then the Gaza genocide cannot have been very important for them. (or they have zero sense of reality). If half voted for Jill Stein und old Jill still didnt get a better result than in 2016, the muslim vote does not seem to be election-deciding. And lastly, if Harris had taken a more anti Israel stance, how many pro Israel votes would she have lost (there is evidence that voters rather saw her too pro Gaza than too pro Israel already)? All these things considered, claiming Harris lost due to Gaza is just not founded in reality.

No matter how you slice it, if you say these things, you gotta quantify them. Elseways it is just fantasy you declare as fact.

There's also the consideration that these folk didn't show up in droves to vote for kamala even though trump literally implemented a muslim ban and has been pretty clear that he wants israel to finish this quickly. Let alone that Biden has in fact taken a harder stance on Israel over time while evangelical christians continue to be an aggressively pro trump block that happens to be aggressively pro israel. Trump's position on israel is essentially genocidal, he has been pretty clear that he can't care if gazan's get fully displaced. At best trump is annoyed at how long this whole thing has taken. If Gaza was a major issue in this election and people couldn't tell the difference between trump and harris or even hint at the possibility of them not being different enough... Welp, they are fucking idiots. I don't really know how else to refer to these hypothetical electors. Of course, the reality is that Israel-Gaza is simply not what drove voting. And what did drive how people voted or whether people even showed up to vote is deeply problematic for the party. Trump won on the economy and culture issues actually cost democrat(which is not the only thing that democrats are about but 110% what most people hear about)s.

Gotta say, if someone votes for trump and AOC for gaza I have no earthly idea of what you want to see happen there. If anything this doesn't sound like a vote from someone who gives a fraction of a shit about policy but rather wants to see the government burn.

One thing that I often think about is this:

Voters tend to trust someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. They do distrust people who want to seem like they are above it all.

For example, I think it was a mistake for both Clinton and Harris in debates to try to belittle Trump in this "Donald thinks this and that haha". Even tho Harris was seen as having won against Trump in that debate (and in fact he declined another), her just smiling about how stupid he is sounds like a good strategy for liberals, but it is not a good way to appeal to the working class. Because a lot of people in the working class have made the experience of some college educated person belittling them and, no matter whether right or wrong, that makes you distrust a person.

In the Tweets from AOC, I feel that is reflected in some of them. When Trump gets confronted with the pro Gaza crowd, he says s th like "I love muslims, you are gonna have the best time for muslims, the way I will run things in america, muslims will say 'mr Trump, thank you for bringing peace to the middle east' ".
That is bullshit of course, but at least he directly adressed people without some ghostwriter weighing out what to say first. When Harris gets confronted with pro Gaza people, she tells them "you want trump??? HUH" and that's that. She will have some lukewarm take on the issue later on that is pretty much exactly in party line, but who cares for that?

I think democrats very often, on a lot of issues, do not take their voters seriously and act from high above. Trump does not do that. He does horrible things and he does them purely for his own gain, but the promise to his voters is that they will get scraps. And that promise is not complete bullshit. Putin's Russia works the same way. People get bullshitted on most things, the state is insanely corrupt, but it cannot be said that the people there, in their majority, feel lied to. Because they knew that would happen, much like Trump voters know Trump is not a good person. But Nancy Pelosi is corrupt too and she acts like she is the paragon of justice.

Biden did not walk into that trap. You can say lots of things about Biden, but he does get his handy dirty. Biden is a cringe old man that challenges Trump to a push up duel and I think that is a better way to appeal to some voting groups than to act like you are above pettiness.

I wouldn't say trump is the type to get his hands dirty in any meaningful way but it can't be said the way he communicates isn't effective (even in spite or perhaps because it's barely intelligible). I will note that at least IMO a good chunk of what trump says on its own is meaningless nonsense but in the internet it is taken by whichever bad faith actor to fit into whichever of the 9 million variations of democrats being demonic pedophilic baby eaters conspiracies. It's a combination of folk for whom trump "sounds real" and those who believe democrats snort adrenochrome of epstein's victims.

Well, he is the only person on the left that is willing to talk to the other side without demonizing them. It's why he gets donations from chatters thanking him for pulling them from the far Right (and farl left) regularly. I would've thought you heard about the infamous Chicken and Waffles date he had with Nick Fuentes.
No he's not, there's plenty of debates being had all over the place. I'm not denying that he has changed some of his audience's viewpoints but I've seen the same sort of testimonials from other political content creators so I don't see the significance.

I mean, I have. We've talked about it before. Fuentes is an unironic nazi troll. Whatever good Destiny may be responsible for, it's not worth platforming and associating with people like that. Him shitting on redpillers or flat-earthers in debates is not the same as being buddy buddy with people like Fuentes or his ilk. I don't believe you're putting people off by treating people like that the way they deserve to be treated.

All those things don't really matter if you just want to treat someone as an entertainer, but putting someone forth as a political or cultural truthteller is another matter entirely.

That isn't coddling. You're not coddling someone by not attacking them. You're picking a fight that doesn't need to be fought. It IS true that there are things that are unfair for men. It IS true that white lives matter. Validation isn't coddling.

You're actually doing the meme right now. Just curious: have you ever told someone "It's not my job to educate you" when they asked you about political differences they have with you?

As for the bolded, once again, I'm talking about the kids that haven't gotten there yet. Did you ever see that video of like, 12 year old boys meeting Sneako and screaming "fuck women and trans people"? Were they "too far gone"?
Where is white lives matter coming into this conversation? I don't think it's a dumb hill to die on to explain to someone why that response is missing the point entirely. Perhaps it is pointless given the kind of person that feels it's necessary to say that sort of thing out loud but idk lol

I'm not, though? I don't have any recollection of doing that, but I also choose not to engage when I don't feel like wasting my time. That being said, how people interface IRL isn't the same how it's done online. There can be a time and place for everything perhaps.

A 12 year old? No. I have no idea if Sneako appeals to that kind of demographic, the conversation was about Tate. Maybe I'm just unaware but I don't see 12 year olds being interested in his "content" or whatever. In any case, a 12 year old should be afforded 100x more grace than an adult.

The polling regarding Harris being too pro-Palestine or talking too much about cultural issues is so hilarious to me. I suppose most would pejoratively refer to me as being more "woke" than the average person and it seemed to me that she was going out of her way to not talk about those issues at all. Don't think the pro-Palestine part needs much explanation.

Regardless of other topics left up for debate, we can all agree that Harris was surrounded by morons, right?

There are plenty of debates being had all over the place, but I specifically said he's the only one willing to debate without demonizing his opponents. The significance is that he talks to people that these other political figures would never.

On the Fuentes point: it is worth it. Ignoring bad ideas leaves them to propagate. The internet makes it easier to hide in special niches away from the judgement of society, which is usually required to force people to behave according to the rules of said society. So if they flee from the judgement of society, you've got to bring the judgement of society to them.

Finally, if there is any political commentator who can be trusted to be knowledgeable about anything, it's Destiny. Whoever you're thinking of as being out of his league probably has already spoken to Destiny and been either destroyed, or defeated handily. Or they simply had a good conversattion.

Krystal Ball, Meddhi Hasaan, Cenk Uygur, Ben Shapiro, Sam Harris, Michael Knowles, Norman Finkelstein, Tomi Lahren, Sam Sedar multiple times, Emma Vigeland, Lex Friedman, Jordan Peterson, Jimmy Dore, Dave Rubin, Piers Morgan, Nick Fuentes, Gavin McGinnis, Milo Yiannoupolos, Sarah Palin... whether it's on the left or right, intelligent or dumb, moral or immoral, there is no one you can name in the political commentary landscape that he isn't superior to. WITHOUT having avoided all these interactions.

Where is white lives matter coming into this conversation? I don't think it's a dumb hill to die on to explain to someone why that response is missing the point entirely. Perhaps it is pointless given the kind of person that feels it's necessary to say that sort of thing out loud but idk lol

Sneako was a protege of Andrew Tate. Both are Redpill grifters. They might be a smidge older than 12, but these are the people that the Left should be reaching out to.

I think we agree that Gaza wasn't the single most important issue that hurt Harris, but it was a part of it. The only thing you can argue about this is how big of an impact, but it did have some impact.

I don't think it was lost exclusively due to Harris and Biden supporting Israel (this isn't just a Gaza issue), but they were almost completely tone-deaf and kept defending Israel and spreading lies to justify Israel. I've seen tons of Muslims and Palestinians say they refuse to vote for Harris after she made it clear she will support Israel's right to defend itself, even after it was the one attacking first.

I know more Muslims voted for Trump, they made it clear why. It was basically a "fuck you" to Biden and Harris for continuing to support Israel and not trying to get a ceasefire going, but pretending to. Trump was openly saying worse things, but he isn't the president right now, and he managed to say something pro-Muslim or pro-Palestine. It was, in my opinion, wrong of them to angrily go for Trump, but Trump read the room correctly. This is how I know you don't talk to Muslims or Palestinian supporters, because they've made it clear for months what would happen. They don't see any difference between the Dems and Trump, and I think a lot of them are actually conservatives, but they were aware of how Islamophobic the right is.

Which voters saw her as too pro-Gaza? The ones that want Gaza destroyed? The Zionists? Because again, we have at least two evidences of Palestinian-supporting Muslim women winning their re-election, one of whom constantly openly criticized Harris. I personally don't know how many votes she'd have lost, do you know? Arms embargo on Israel and/or telling them to stop the genocide, whether it was Biden or Harris who did that, would have helped tremendously.

Okay, but you still aren't proving to me anything, just that you're focused on Gaza while I'm talking about Biden and Harris overall. Maybe if Roe v Wade wasn't overturned, then Harris could have gotten more votes. If Biden stepped down earlier and allowed primaries to happen, then if Harris won she would have gotten more votes (or whoever won). If Biden cancelled student loans or fought harder to do that (I can't blame him for SCOTUS), then maybe Harris would have gotten more votes. If the Dems found a better way to educate people on why Trump is bad, like how his tariffs will increase cost of goods for consumers, then maybe Harris would have won.

And by won, I mean get more votes from the left.

Regardless of other topics left up for debate, we can all agree that Harris was surrounded by morons, right?
Yes. You also have people like destiny who do not know how to run a campaign as well, making people even more suspicious of the entire party. It was a failure all around, including leftists.

She was still asking a question, how do you reach someone who likes Tate or a Groyper? Not all Trump voters are those types, but if we're talking specifically like the young demographic that is more able to be influenced by those types, how is it avoidable when everything a sensible person might stand for is "gay" and "woke"?
In my opinion, most people can be reached if they are valued and taken seriously. For a liberal or leftist, it is very hard to take a person with differing views seriously or even value them. And that is what has to change.

I think Sanders was good at speaking to people who were rather apoltical or even might have voted Trump because, while he had a firmer leftist stance on things than the typical democrat, he also was not condescending in the way that most liberals are the second someone has a different view than them. Trump is similarly not condescending to the people that vote him, but just to the people that don't. If you are some disenfranchised male with nothing, Trump will still say he is gonna fight for you (no matter how absurd that claim is), while with the typical democrat you can just feel they do not take you seriously.

Back then, I thought Clinton was the better candidate. But I think I was projecting. She was the candidate that liberals liked to think is better, because she suited their tastes more, but not the tastes of the people they claimed clinton would reach.

Yup, people who read articles like this: https://www.jns.org/harriss-actions-abandon-israel/

These voters are just as real as pro Gaza voters. So the claim of a weapons embargo helping Harris tremendously is really just not one that can besupported by evidence right now. It might even have hindered her chances. I am not saying that is a fact, I am saying that the facts right now point towards a weapons embargo not being helpful by any significance to her. Because it is hardly as simple as to just round up the arab vote and give it to Harris. Therewould be lots of Muslims who still vote Jill Stein or Trump, and there would be people who have a problem with a weapons embargo and might vote Trump for that. And as I said before, there are also democrats in House and Senate who would never accept that and start an in party fight shortly before the election. That just doesn't seem worth it for like 0.5% of the vote tops in 1 or 2 states.

Democrats who support Gaza winning reelection is hardly an indication here. Ilhan Omar won with the same voteshare as last midterms, in a districts that democrats always win.

My problem here is not that you think that a weapons Embargo might have helped her. It might even be true. My problem is that you claim it like it is a fact even tho facts point into the opposite direction.

This isn't about ignoring bad ideas, he was friendly and conciliatory towards an upjumped 8channer and violent anti-semite. Or do the clips of him giving him advice on his career or his wife making him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich not mean anything? Or the clips of him arguing with his own audience regarding Fuentes being a nazi or not despite him being a holocaust-denier mean nothing?

And again, I don't have a problem with the comedic or entertainment value in stuff like this, but this type of thing absolutely tarnishes a person in the eyes of most people. At least when it comes to being someone to look towards for serious political opinions. That and spending energy having fantastic conversations like arguing in favor of personal usage of racial slurs or the therapeutic value of child pornography.

Finally, if there is any political commentator who can be trusted to be knowledgeable about anything, it's Destiny. Whoever you're thinking of as being out of his league probably has already spoken to Destiny and been either destroyed, or defeated handily. Or they simply had a good conversattion.
Sorry, this just reads like fanboyism. There's a very long list or reasons why he shouldn't be taken this seriously and has huge faults. You ignore this because you value debate content and he cares enough to be well-read (on some things) and has a lot of practice gish-galloping around idiots. I prefer political commentary that doesn't involve calling for the killing of protestors, for example.

It's a matter of opinion but the few people here who aren't complete bad-faith morons are people I would listen to before any of Destiny's content. The people involved in The Minority Report for example, at least try to avoid being spiteful and vile and make it less obvious how much they enjoy the smell of their own farts. Speaking of getting high on your own supply, while Sam Harris is someone I no longer agree with politically on many things, I see more value to what he has to say than someone like Destiny.

To each their own, I guess.

You might not be intending to, but you're absolutely perpetuating the stereotype.
Tell me where I did that?

There are nasty, unproductive people of all persuasions. I think with SOME leftists, and probably not enough, there are at least those who are more class conscious. So in a sense they are better equipped to talk to voters IMO. It's similar to your assessment with Sanders, because the silent majority tends to vote in regards to their material conditions. It seemed like the Harris-Biden campaign preferred to pretend like those kinds of concerns were unfounded.

I obviously have no fucking clue how Trump counters any of that, but the messaging was a still a failure, nonetheless.

We're still kind of fucked though since Dem leadership as well as the consultant class seems insistent on blaming identity politics somehow. I guess we need an even more ineffectual moderate candidate with zero attention-grabbing policy prescriptions to defeat Vance in 2028.... that will go amazingly well, I bet.

Messaging wise democrats have been appalling since 2016... Back in 2016 no one had an iota of a clue of what hillary stood for. Most people were too busy thinking how absurd a trump presidency was to look at the unnerving polling that had trump tied with hillary. In 2020 biden won but hindsight would suggest that rather than anything biden having to say mattering that much people were just tired of what trump was saying and doing. And then 4 years later sheer apathy at biden's presidency didn't rally democrats to show up again to vote. I don't think the issue is all about messaging, their messaging suffers because policy wise they don't have much going on that people care about. Biden being a barely able to articulate sentences roughly the last year of his presidency didn't help while also being a perfect representation of the party trying to communicate policy to folk. Now in comes trump for another 4 years of dismantling everything obama did and also anything biden had done. Gotta wonder if obamacare survives this time around.

No, it doesn't mean anything. Or yes, it means nothing. I watch his stream every day, I'm familiar with that vod, I watched it live. The reason he kept banning people in his chat for calling him a Nazi, is for the same reason he and Vaush got into a fight over whether or not George Bush is a fascist or not: it's because he wants to avoid the "Boy Who Cried Wolf" shit. Call someone a fascist just because they want lower taxes or are against abortion, and you cut yourself off from any further talks by demonizing them, and also make it easier for the real fascists to move in silence because when everyone's a fascist, no one's a fascist. Likewise, their own audience is more emboldened.

Nick Fuentes is a white nationalist, but he isn't actually a Nazi (I only call him a Nazi because fuck him, I don't care to walk on eggshells for people that don't warrant my respect). And you make yourself look like the loser by relying on ad hominems and insults when talking to someone about your disagreements. You have to contend with their arguments, not their character. There has to be a mutual agreement that you're going to sit there and listen to their repugnant ideas in order to counter them. So he was conciliatory, and respectful, and friendly, while ALSO pushing back on his arguments. And because of that, Nick's audience heard pushback that he never gets because he's in his little echo chamber on Rumble, and Destiny's audience saw that Destiny had answers for Nick's arguments, learned what to say in the same situation, and got the feel good chemicals in your head that you get when you see your beliefs defended by a talented rhetorician.

There obvioulsy is the problem of him signal boosting Nick Fuentes by giving him access to Destiny's audience, but that's a price you have to pay to push back on bad ideas. You gotta hear the ideas first.

These people need to do better then. I mean, literally do better. These people should hop in the discord and debate him out of it. Would be fun to see.

I'm very obviously a fan, I don't link his content here out of spite. I link it because there's stuff in the videos that I know everyone in here would both enjoy, AND agree with no matter how many times he's said nigga. None of these reasons have anything to do with him being right or wrong though. And you're doing the thing where you cut the context out of things he's said so it sounds worse than it is:

Destiny argues for using the Soft A is really translated to "Destiny thinks it's okay to say whatever you want in private, including slurs, but agrees you shouldn't say slurs to other people." I promise you you don't disagree with this sentiment.

Destiny argues for therapeutic CP is translated to "Destiny asking the question of maybe artificially created CP or CP collected ethically could be used to prevent non-offending PDF files from committing sex acts against children, since sexual compulsion can't simply be turned off" The term "ethical CP" refers to CP already collected by the FBI or whatever. It's a misnomer, but I think you get what it means. Not an argument you wanna be saying anywhere but in one of his debates, but the logic is sound *shrug*

It's a matter of opinion but the few people here who aren't complete bad-faith morons are people I would listen to before any of Destiny's content. Oh! That claim makes for the perfect demonstration of Steven's political commentary aptitude then. By all means, one day when you decide you're bored and want to check your biases to make sure you're still a based skeptic like us cool kids, watch any conversation he's ever had with any of these people.

...except maybe the "Buckets of Cum" convo with Sam Seder. Or don't, really. I mean I do a disservice to him arguing in his favor here, because the best character witnesses wouldn't be his fans, but rather his colleagues. Nearly every major political commentator in our country, and some in other countries, can attest to his honesty, professionalism, and accuracy. I ain't gotta prove shit lol. But I do a disservice to YOU by not correcting your misconceptions of him.

Tell me where I did that?
When you claimed that my strategies for how to stop the ostracizing of men by the left was actually coddling them instead of simply being considerate of their feelings. You're perpetuating the stereotype toxic men who claim that men should just suck it up and take the bad news, get over it and move on. You're also perpetuating the stereotype of Leftists: that they don't know how to appeal to men either because they don't give a shit about them, or they're only progressive when it comes to women, the LGBTQ, and brown folk.

Meanwhile, folks on the Right step in and do the ACTUAL coddling. Telling them they're not wrong for believing what they believe because society wants them feminized and subservient to make them easier to control. Telling them that they can't get laid because women are whores genetically designed to be hypergamous; riding the cock carousel until they're used up, and then settling for the advances of the betamale simps that the gigachads have left them to.
