Welll its just a theory. We know nothing about awakened logias, but we do know that Haki does cause damage to Logias. Akainu does really get slashed with Haki and yet heals up instantly. That isnt suppose to happen as we know from the reaction Vista and Marco provided. I am assuming a connection with an awakened level which might be wrong but not because no one will be able to beat them.

Awakened Zoans in Punk Hazard were probably failed states. We see WG experimenting with DF abiltiies, specailly Zoan, so it could be a state of artificial awakening that leaves them as puppets of the govt or something like that. The size part is in relation to their actual bodies and DF abilities put into consideration. Chopper is a case of Reindeer and Human, neither can grow into those sizes...
Luffy's DF ability is not a typical Paramecia to begin with as his body is always in a state of rubber, even under the ocean, so basically even without consciousness from the user. Take Magellan for instance, he would be able to turn the surroundings as poison making him deadly. Luffy could extend his surroundings to rubber and have great comic benefits like throw the person off balance, practically have surroundings in gear 4 and make them keep bouncing. I do agree that its definition probably fits doflamingo's situation specifically. Heck, maybe not all DFs can have an awakened state either.
The logia state is wrong word to use i guess. I just tried to tie it with an observed anomoly where Akainu restores his body inspite of being sliced by WB pirates..
That's untrue, there's nothing saying or implying awakened Logias are unaffected by haki. How did Whitebeard hit Akainu then? Marco and Vista irritated Akainu when they used haki, but the effect wasn't strong enough to harm him most likely because they're haki isn't as strong as Whitebeard's himself.
Aokiji was hit by Haki, but then again he was focusing on WB so Jozu's attack was pretty much a cheap shot. If it took Akainu 10 days to defeat Aokiji, it'd mean that the fight could have even gone in Aokiji's way. Why would someone who is apparently immune to Haki need 10 days to defeat Aokiji (who got affected by Haki), it's unlikely that Akainu is awakened and Aokiji isn't; it's highly unlike that awakened Logias are immune to Haki.
The creatures in Impel Down could well be animals that were given Zoan fruits and were trained by Sadie-chan; she wields a whip like a ringleader at a zoo and she controls them like animals which is probably because these Zoans weren't human in the first place. Had Chopper never eaten the Human fruit, he'd be like any other animal or the creatures in Impel Down; he's only able to accomplish human feats because his DF allows him to do so.
Even when theses awakened Zoans in Impel Down were knocked unconscious, they retained their form. Based on the information we have about awakened characters so far; it's evident that the change isn't physical but attribute based. it's possible awakening may not even change how a Zoan looks, but like Crocodile said "enhanced toughness and resilience" which is typically what a Zoan DF does in the first place.
When Doflamingo showed his awakening, he said awakening affects the user and on rare occasions it extends to the surroundings; we know it enhanced the Zoans's attributes (the user) and didn't affect the surroundings which means it depends on the kind of DF. What's certain is that it increases the already present attributes of the DF, it's quite possible Chopper will just be able to combine multiple points at the same time.
