MY BOY NIKOLA JOKIC IS THE MVP! Thoroughly deserved, and I'm genuinely stoked that he got the nod! :celebrate

The single fan vote went to... D.Rose. Was Milly the one in charge?

Steph is the single top 3 for MVP to miss playoffs in like 50 years btw.

man i wish denver had Murray. clearly MPJ can't fill those shoes during the playoff. that been said i won't count them out yet, they're the team that cameback from 3-1 twice in the same run

Didn't he put up 25 in a half against Portland in one of the games in that series? He did go cold but I don't think anyone expects him to be at that level of Jamal Murray, especially considering what Murray did last year in being incredible for the nuggets. MPJ has stepped up and improved across the season with Murray out, and as he gets more accustomed to it I reckon he'll be better for it.

That was Denver's worst loss of the season and while unfortunate, I don't think they're out yet. Suns look good but they've only been up against opposition that isn't at 100% yet. At this point I'd say Jokic and the Nuggets are far more likely to win a game than the Bucks, if Giannis doesn't bring it tonight then they're cooked and while I do love venison I don't want to see Milwaukee go out like that.

Also props to Donovan Mitchell for continuing to elevate his game when it matters most.

Pressure’s on Jokic more than ever. He’s the MVP, and that comes with another set of burden to carry his team. I think everyone in the organization fully knows he’s their man, I just don’t think he sees himself as the guy who will carry the team on his back and drag them to the finish line. That role probably falls on Murray. I think he sees himself as more of the guy who pushes his teammates from behind and supporting them.

It’s a fine and under-appreciated role, but it’s not something you need to win a championship. Hopefully that came out right.

well there is different layers of carrying. Their last game, Jokic was the only player with more than 11 pts, you can't carry that lol. Jokic is their best player but he's not a pure scorer, Murray is their scorer. Unless you put prime Kobe there and he put up 81pts i don't see how the Nuggets would've won when nobody else can put more than 11pts

Suns got MPJ running in circle, the dude is still green. Would've been a different game if they had Murray

Well it's technically his second season as a pro, being inconsistent is a given, let alone with so much weight on you.

More or less what I was trying to say. But I don’t think I’m too far off the mark either when I say what I said. Jokic just doesn’t have that ever-hungry disposition to push his limits.

it's his 3rd year but you're right. I often forget MPJ is also from the 2018 draft. this might end up the most stacked draft class of all time lmao
luka, trae, sga, jjj, ayton, mpj, sexton, duncan robinson, the time lord and the list goes on. And somehow the Kings managed to mess that up with the 2nd pick :lmao

Yeah but he was out for almost all (or actually all of it? I don't remember) of his rookie season, that's why I said technically (and probably why it tricked your mind as well).

One of the best classes ever, easily.

completely off topic but i like that kid Chet Holmgren. He can already shoot well, hope he become a foward like KD instead of a center
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

kid going to Gonzaga, he'll need to start bulking like crazy if he wanna play center. And that gonna kill his shooting
--- Double Post Merged, ---

let alone bulking for a 7 footer mean more pressure on knees. almost all of them are injury prone due to that

Danny green out for 2-3 weeks. kinda open a straight path to the finals for the Nets.

They always had a straight path, Danny Bricks wasn't changing any of that 🤣

i mean their championships window have closed. if they gonna rebuild, the sooner the better. at least if they trade now they can get picks outta PG
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

if its ACL like we know it, Kawhi will need a year to rehab and who know how he gonna perform in 2 years. not everyone can bounce back like KD

One thing about KD’s recovery is that he had a longer time to get healed due to the pandemic pushing back the NBA schedule. That’s admittedly a stroke of luck for KD, and why I think Klay shouldn’t be playing until the playoffs next year.

Klay staying away that long would be a horrible choice, given it takes a different mentality for playoffs. Even DRose didn't feel ready to return when the Bulls made it to the playoffs, since wins and losses matter the most.
